  1. I am sure this has been addressed here but just wondering if any of y'all have bought and used the bearing kits available for the Super 1050 and the 650? I find a bit of powder spilage on both machines and was wondering if it helps to cure the minor problem? I also find the little bit of powder migrates under the shellplates and just seems to hinder smooth operation. Not a huge problem..but once I get going I hate to take it apart and clean it. More of a problem on the 650 than the 1050...except with maybe the 9mm.
  2. Well picked up a vibra prime in Billings Mt yesterday..I don't know why cause I have a RT-100 I picked up at a gun show..cheap. Will try it out today..after I get back from town..
  3. Well I sold the 650 for a small profit and sent the 550 to a friend back east. He's onea those kinda guys that never has money but loves to do all this loading. He also does me a lot of favors. He's storing 200 thousand primers and 50 lbs of powder for me. He and another guy even picked it up from my wholesaler. Got all before the SHTF. Selling some other 1050 cal conversions on fleabay to finance the Super 1050 and another new 550. As for payment on the other 550..that fellow who never has any money found me a really nice Atlas/Clausing lathe with a bunch of tooling for 200 bucks. Just what i need..another Lathe. He went to Delaware to get it and is storing it in his reloading building. Yeah I gotta go to Maryland to pick it up..but gotta go see my doc back there anyway. Many docs here in Wy are really good...if ya have 4 legs and a tail. LOL Just joking.. I gotta stay off Brian's site. It's as bad as living too close to Cabela's..Just a little over an hour..which is nothing in this country. I was actually in Cabela's yesterday...again.
  4. Hate to tell ya but you guys don't know ancient I have some Hi Vel #2 dated 1937..and it is still good. I also bought way back when a hundred pound keg of 4831 from Hodgdon(70 dollars delivered if i remember correct.). WWII surplus powder and have about 6 lbs left..still good. I also have some WW II surplus ball powder from 30 Carbine They called it WC820 in later years(like 296 but a bit finer). Most people don't know this but alot of the Winchester/Olin ball powder made in the WW II era was WW I era cannon powder they made into ball powder with their new ball powder process in the 1930s. Or so I was told by a Winchester Chemist from the era. I even have bulk smokeless that is still good. And this is a true story. I bought a bunch of stuff from a widow for a fair price..but the powder cans were all filled with water. I took a container of Lil Gun and poured the water off. dried the powder for 3 months. Tried loading it and it still works just fine with the velocities just where they should be with the LIL Gun data. No..I do not recommend this...but ball powders are very stable. Hercules/Alliant still keep a container of Bullseye in the chem lab that was made in 1898 if I remember right and it is stored in water. They test bullseye lots occasionally for consistency with that original lot
  5. Just sold a nice little AR I really didn't need for an 800 buck profit. Was gonna buy another Super 1050 fromn Brian..but bought a 650 in 9mm at the gun show i was at. Only paid 350 for it with the case feeder. But I may sell the 650 and buy the Super 1050 anyway. Not sure I like the 650 all that much. Bought a bunch of presses lately including a new in box 550B(270) and a (gag) Herters double ram boat anchor press with a bunch of accessories for 60 bucks and the fellow gave me powder primers and some bullets too. Told me he sold his boat and didn't need an anchor any longer.LOL Even bought 2 Mec 600MkVs and a P-W 375 for 80 bucks. All(except the 550)are going on flea bay to finance some other presses....yep just convinced myself to sell the 650 too..buy the 1050. I need a smack up the side of my head I think. I turned down 2300 for my Armalite AR-10. One day ...I might actually shoot it
  6. I got one ordered..but back-ordered..said late April. I do have a Dillon RF-100 though. If the vibraprime works good I'll sell the Dillon.
  7. Well guys.. It does seem kinda funny..but people are buying 22s at almost any price. I do gun shows and sell mostly older reloading stuff and components. I saw about 4 different "dealers" selling bricks of the cheap Federal 22 LR at 50 bucks a brick..I had a bunch of Federal 525s for much much less..and one guy tried to buy 'em all. I had a sign on the table..limit of one. Turns out he had a table and wanted to rip more people off and make another profit on that ammo. On another note. I sold 75,000 Rem 7 1/2 primers(another limit of one thousand) in an hour and a half at a fair price before i quit primer sales. and 2 guys wanted to start a fight over my last 2 cans of Varget.. Is stuff that hard to get?? To be honest though..the reason prices are so high..is because people STILL BUY THE STUFF. Don't buy and prices will come down to reasonable levels....hopefully
  8. And yep..the Fed Ex guy just left. delivered the press. Gonna get it set up tonight..
  9. I have a Redding ultramax on a 650 strong mount..bought it at an auction that way.for a lot less than the price of the strongmount..it works great.
  10. I ordered on the 22nd of January..the Fedex site said that the 1050 should be delivered tomorrow. 7 weeks. Patience is NOT one of my virtues but in these ridiculous times..I am fairly happy it wasn't longer. Luckily before the SHTF I bought a LOT of primers and powder..and have made some really good scores on bullets at gun shows lately. Got 14 boxes of Speer Gold Dot 124 gr 9mm bullets this weekend for 110 bucks. There are no .224 bullets anywhere locally..but while in Vegas the first of Feb I scored on 2000 Hornady 55 gr bullets for 200 bucks..in a pawn shop of all places..not THE pawn shop ot TV fame though. Think I will buy one of Brian's electronic scales now. Anybody got one?? How do ya like it?? BTW since I ordered the 1050..waiting gave me time to clean and prep the brass..Never thought i would get all of it done. 5000 rounds of 45 is time consuming on a single stage inspecting and decapping it all.
