  1. My money is on he walks again!!!
  2. Any weapon that uses a falling hammer has slow lock times. Rifles can have fast lock times because the firing pin is already under tension and is released by the sear. Glocks should have a fast lock time also, because the sear drops away from a tension firing pin. So idea of Ti, mainspring cap and strut arm and light hammer are to shorten the lock time by decreasing the mass. AR's have slow lock times
  3. Ear plugs and pillows will help, but on a long trip you find yourself running down. So I use the napping during the day, it only takes a few minutes nap to charge the battery. Especially after lunch. Find anyplace comfortable where you can rest your head, or bring a folding chair. Put you ear plugs in put on some shades sit and relax and pretty soon I'm asleep for 15/20 minutes then I awake and ready for few more hours. I like someplace where I can watch women walk by, if possible, that rocking of the hips motion as they are walking away from you, puts a smile on my face, a fond memory in my mind and .... well you know.
  4. Well I'm not sure? I liked the old one, but it wasn't really an action cowboy. More of a story of the character of two men. Is there a good dialogue and character development or just action?
  5. RoboMan Thank you for the offer, but I already purchase a endmill, about $35.00 with shipping. As far as technique, I will leave that up to guy who owns the mill. Although I will print all these and bring them along to hear his opinion. Wish me luck Again Thanks //ck
  6. Little history, BellSouth and SBC bought Cingular and split them in two. That's when they started down hill, Now SBC bought Bellsouth and decided to call themselves ATT because Bellsouth and SBC had such terrible reputations. Now that our Texas buddies promised the everything to get the merger through, don't expect much of anything. If you happen to be in area where there is competition there service will be OK. but if your not you will be lucky to get anything other than your bill. I recommend survey other customers and see who has best luck in your area. Nextel, verizon etc.
  7. Soon she will be getting her share, lawyer's share, you'll be left with the shaft.
  8. First one was, all of sudden I couldn't hit $hit at my plate match or the IPSC match. So I used a couple of the paper targets to check my zero, seemed I was shooting a little high and to the right. But then on next target it wasn't????? Finally found it, my Bomar windage retaining nut had come loose from it stake point on the adjuster screw. So my sight was floating around when it came to windage. Restaked the adjuster screw and back in business. Next was I needed an end mill to make Brazos style holes in my slide. Wow do they make a lot of styles of end mills. 2,3,4 flutes, center cut, material, coatings, length of cut. So after talking and reading I found out I needed something that would plunge cut, which all 2 flutes will but some 3 and 4 flutes can be cut to plunge also. Since most slides are fairly hard a carbide with TiaLN coating. Thanks to Internet all things know can be found in less than hour! Just had to share.
  9. So Crusher does that mean you like the straight spring better?
  10. I'm building a new sti 40 based on a 5inch tactical slide and frame. I'm going to lighten the slide at little, not too radical just three Brazos style holes in the side of slide. {Please no comments about my choice of holes that's another thread}. Also using a bushing barrel rather than a bull. I shot a customers new Dawson edge with the STI recoil master and I like the way it felt. Too heavy in the nose for me but the recoil compared to para45 was very mild. What I'm debating is three choices STI recoil master standard guide rod and spring No guide rod just a spring and plug Awhile back lots of folks seemed to be having trouble with the recoil masters but since the power factor went down I don't hear or see many failures. So for those of you who have tried these different combos I'd like to hear about your experiences and impression of the differences. Thanks in Advance

    dream girl

That's why I always like Ron Powers. Wasn't afraid to mix guns and sex.
  12. getting old sucks, but getting up to pee is old news. Why do you think they keep that pot under the bed in old days. Way better than trekking out to outhouse. Don't turn the light on it wakes you up, but pissing in dark can leave mess. So sit down relax then stumble back to bed and you'll be asleep before you hit the pillow.
  13. IPSC and IDPA kinda seperate the wheat from the chaff. So many darn rules and they send you home if you screwup. In most of life you just blame somebody else and move on. Being held accountable for you actions even on our little scale of things is more than most of idiots out there can put up with. Even more scary is that most of them are parents!!!!!!! Thanks to Jerry Springer and Internet these people are proud of there dumbness! They even want to try and out do each other. Dumb and Dumber and be proud!
  14. Thanks for responses, I can be a picky SOB, so I wanted to make sure I wasn't falling into one of my rants. Yep I paid premium price, and everything else I'm very happy with.
  15. I recently order a slide/frame combo from a big name company through one of there big name distributors. I order a number of standard options, bomar cut, rear serrations, flatop slide, dovetail front site cut. Upon inspection the slide flatop cut is so crooked that it is plainly visible from front or rear. It so great that the front sight dovetail cut is 0.60 deep on one side and only 0.46 on the other edge. Now I know this is going to bug me ever time I look arcross the top of this slide. Am I being an A$$ asking them to do it over again?
  16. Had a lesson many years ago. In middle 90's on a Christmas night about 3am I was awakened by sound of a dogs fighting. My rottweiller weighed about 120 pounds and was about 4 years old and in great shape. His dog house is about 200 feet from the house and I had put him out some steak bones leftovers about 11pm. I grab 1911 and flashlight and my shoes, naked I run out the door. Fire a few shots in ground but the fight rages on. They are too far out for me to see. I realize I ain't prepared, back inside, pants heavy jacket flashlight and my 870 with #4shot back out I go. Now it is pitch black no moon, no street lights nothing. This time though it is quiet. So I'm trying to hold the three cell maglite up next to the 870 and I'm scanning looking for eyeballs. Moving slowly out down the drive I'm scanning, I round the corner to where his doghouse is and I got 4 sets of eyeballs reflecting back. Luckly my Rott had one silver and one Gold eye. I move within 50 feet of them and fire one round over their heads, figuring they would scatter. WRONG! They start moving towards me! I know I've only got three rounds left in the gun so while there advancing on me I stuff two more from side saddle up the tube. Now the lead dog has moved out front and I'm advancing on him also. At about 20 feet I let one go on the lead dog, I amazed he goes right down with just a few kicks. Now my Rott and other dog are right next to each other, so a careful aim and number two goes down with one shot also. Quickly I scan for dog three he's about 35 out at about 10 o'clock position, I fire a snap shot that's too high and dog three heads for the woods. I unhook my Rott of his chain and we both backup against a very large oak tree. I stuff a few more rounds in the tube and squat down next to my dog, who is very happy to see me. He is covered with slobber, blood, and some gashes and puncture wounds. Mostly on his shoulders. His dog house is destroyed front pull completely off and one side ripped loose. We sit there in of cold quiet of the night, our breaths visible in the flashlite beam. I check my pulse and its pumping, my Rotty wants to head down the trail into woods after the last dog. I call him back time to go inside and check out his wounds. I find my hands are covered in blood, I figured I got it off my dog so I'm trying to clean him up. I pour some betadyne down his puncture wounds which were very few actually. I go to wash my hands and what do I find that my fingers and hands are all cut up from trying to load, hold flashlight and pump that 870. Damn lucky I didn't short stroke it or dump the light, and I didn't have a backup weapon, not even a knife!!!! So that spawned a new project gun, the "DogGun", 870 with extended tube, laser and mounted light, along with side saddle. It is also right where it can be grabbed along with a bullet proof vest with 8" Tanto already mounted on it. Not too long ago it was used for removal of six foot plus rattler! So for Sh!% hit the fan, gimmie my shotgun!!!
  17. To all those that responded to "how to" Thanks. To all those that wanted to lecture me "no thanks"
  18. Not a solution, he is too backup and won't small jobs already asked.
  19. Of all the slide lightening styles out there I like the Brazo's holes in side of the slide. So what is the best/easiest way to do that with a mill???? Thanks in Advance
  20. So how do you tell a casting from a MIM? Somebody mentioned a round notch where a pin comes up and knocks the part from the mold. But some casting use the lost wax So spruce holes should be finish ground off.
  21. Got a new edge in today. Looks like the slide stop, safety, grip safety, are MIM. Anybody had any failures?

I give her A+ for poise on a diffcult question. That's what travel agents are for. Besides what that little globe got to do with world. USA won't fit on that ball just look at it Duh!
  23. Just got a safety from them also.
  24. Women are like buses don't chase them another one will come along.
  25. Is it rocket science or what, but you think all 1911 barrels would be in same spot not scattered around. Or two facing pages, drop-ins on left, gunsmith on the right?
