  1. Im running a 16" fluted Micro with rifle gas, low mass BCG, rifle length stock, spring and buffer. Never had any issues with my setup. I can run the same set up with a full weight BCG. I've tested hoser loads that were right at 2400 fps. Cycling was not an issue. I also have a 14.5" mid and building a 12.5" mid.
  2. Anybody need a room in cave city ? Calling tomorrow (friday) to cancel one at the comfort inn.
  3. Thank you. Thank you. Great job by the USA crew putting on this match. Fun, challenging stages. Good combo of quick and longer stages. We never really got bogged down waiting to shoot the next stage. The RO's were awesome. Big Thanks to everyone on SQUAD 6. We all had a blast shooting together. The heat messed with a few folks. But good squads take care of each other. I was fortunate to have the chance of a lifetime being able to shoot with the "Royal Family". Learned a lot. It was great to have a bigger match so close to home. Hope it sticks around. Thanks for the great match!!
  4. The same info from 2007 is still good for 2014. JP still makes an awesome rifle but many companies are beating on the door. Adams Arms is coming up with some great stuff, and so are all the others.
  5. USCA put on a match last november in Florida. It was a lot of fun. Only having to deal with 2 guns is just as much fun as running 3.
  6. When you stop learning from the group you shoot with is it time to change up the group? I am far from this point. Just wondering. I do like the comment, "shoot slow, do everything else fast"...
  7. So for those of you that run in the middle or near the end of the stack, do you stick to your walk thru game plan or do you make changes to it after watching other shooters. And does it usually work out better for you or not ? Not sure if runing in the middle or end is good for me. The new shooter in me wants to just run smooth and clean. The competitor in me wants to run as fast as possible, trying to hang with the big boys. So running near the top of the stack coud possibly get rid of some of the clock issues.
  8. Yes. The strelok app is well worth the money. I have it. Works great.
  9. Any chance you will be shooting Task Force Dagger in 2 weeks. I would like to take a look at it.
  10. Using a mag coupler seems to work pretty good for myself. Keeping the mag bases flush with each other gives a pretty wide shooting base.
  11. Smooth. I have 2 of them on rifles also.
  12. My vote is for 4,4,1. 3,3,3 makes for a long last day. 3 stages, scoring, presentations, prize tables, then a 6.5 hour drive home.
  13. Would this be a Andy Horner type match ? Pack a snack to eat while shooting each marathon stage. Task Force Dagger style
  14. Received limited info in the mail about a SureFire MultiGun Match in November. Got RSVP info. But no location info. Any additional info would be helpful.
  15. I started with the MTAC. Just like all my shooting buddies have done. For the money it is a great scope. We all have since upgraded to either the Swaro or the Vortex. Found a Great deal on the swaro is the only reason for that. Be mindful that upgrading to a 1-6-24 is going to be pricey. If it works for you stick with it.
  16. Stage 1. First thing friday morning, post midnight monsoon. Nothing like doubling your weight with GA Clay as soon as your feet hit the ground !! 1st major match for 3 gun. It was all a blast. Back again for 2014.
  17. Compare the prices and the quality and go from there. If money is a issue like it is for most of us then u might want to stay with a stag, double star, dpms or maybe even build one yourself. What you save on the rifle put into the optic !!
  18. I started shooting 3 gun this past year and used a gun I had built with a 16" barrel and have since picked up the 18" barrel talked about in the above post. All purchased from shooters source. Listen to the shooters on this site. They are all pretty picky about their guns and equipment. For good reason. Dont short yourself. Build what you want with the advise from shooters. You wont be sorry.
  19. Its possible that the buffer tube has worked itself loose, backing out a bit causing the buffer detent pin to catch on the bcg. It only takes a small turn.. If you can, try to tighten the buffer tube back up, it may catch the pin, pushing it back down. If that doesnt work try removing the buffer tube. SLOWLY...The spring still has the preassure on it. Happened to me during a match.. Its a stage killer and not a quick fix!! But not the end of the world.. Good luck...
