  1. Got an order in for 1 at Midway, which I should have by Tuesday. They had a stupid one mag limit as previously mentioned, so I padded my order with an AR Stoner 40 and a new chamber flag for the shotgun. I didn't get the MGW as it was $30.
  2. Just wanted to thank Shooter's connection. I've order a couple of times now, and service has been great. They've answered questions sent via email about products, and shipping has always been fast. I'll definitely be ordering from them in the future.
  3. I was unable to pin as well. Maybe another donation is needed. I placed a small one to check and I'll check back on the map later.

    "Shadow Line"

Put VZ grips on the Shadowline. All indication that it is a new model gone. Editing to add that I don't condone cheating, I agree with others that distinguishing the Shadowline as a truly new models seems excessive.
  5. Are the 40rd AR Stoner mags from Midway, which are made for them by ACS, using the old C Products tooling?
  6. Thanks for the feedback. I'm likely going to order a couple of both. If the MGWs are GTG I will post about it.
  7. I'll definitely buy some of these when they are available, but until then has anyone had success with the MGW or AR Stoner 40s?
  8. Thanks for replying with your experience with the Mossad. I likely will be getting one now. Glad to hear that they are small frame compatible. Does that mean my 16rd Mecgar CZ mags will work? Or will they need modification? I wasn't sure if it is the even older Witnesses that can use cz75 mags or all small frames.
  9. There have been many of the Tanfoglio Mossad pistols showing up on Gunbroker. I've read that they are based primarily on the series 88 and newer Witness. Is this a decent base to try my hand at CZ/Tanfoglio pattern gunsmithing? I believe parts are still available. Is that true? I'd basically want to try to rebuild it and attempt an action job. I'm hoping that if I run into issues or make a mistake, I'd be able to replace whatever problem parts I've fouled up. Can barrels be had if I get on that is shot out? I'd like to use it as a backup afterwards while I either work on my CZ85 Combat, have work done on it, or sell the 85 to get a Shadow. As far as I know, my Mecgar 16rd mags should work in the Mossad and I would only need a holster for a small frame Witness to fit the Mossad. Good plan or fever dream?
  10. I agree that this is not really World War Z at all. An action movie with fast zombies bares no resemblance to the book. This property is the first time Hollywood's propensity for reboots actually gives me hope instead of making me queasy. Maybe in 8 or 10 years during the next zombie craze we can get a decent adaption.
  11. Thanks for the spoiler free appraisal. I'm looking forward to seeing this, and I didn't think I would be when I first heard about it.

    "Shadow Line"

Blueorb, how did you get it so fast with the custom work? Did it get bumped to the front of the line because its new and they wanted to verify their stuff went together well in it? Or do they not have anything else to build right now I wonder? I noticed you went with the CZC hammer instead of the new ShadowLine hammer. Was this by CZC's suggestion? Was it required for the SRT install?
  13. I don't reload yet as I am still in an apartment for a few months at least. Thanks for the info about the match, I'll check out the site.
  14. Hey, I'm Ken I'm from the suburbs of Detroit and I just wanted to finally check in here. Looking to start competitive shooting this year with a couple of local clubs, join whichever one will have me, have fun and see where it goes. I've been a lurker here on the site since around when I bought my first AR 5 years ago. It's taken me a while to make the decision to come play in USPSA and 3gun matches, but I think I'm hooked now. I attended USPSA101/Practical shooting class last weekend at the Livingston Gun club, but sadly couldn't attend their season opener the next day. Getting to shoot a COF after the classroom stuff was a great experience though and really reinforced my desire to be involved in this sport. Also, the club officers and ROs teaching the class were great guys...experienced, helpful, friendly and willing to answer everyones questions, sharing that experience. I'm planning to go to LGC's 3-gun match this weekend. Thanks to the great information here I probably have a pretty decent basic kit for a beginner and hope that will help me relax, be safe, and have more fun than frustration. "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast," is a phrase I learned from the performance driving world. I heard it again when taking the class last weekend. I've made that my plan for my first few events until I learn more, get more practice, and hopefully get some advice from the experienced folks. I know this is a race, but you you'll never win if you don't finish, right?

    Looking for a CZ

Im new too and also went the Gunbroker route as I wanted something to start off the season with. If I had already had something full size to run I would have ordered a Shadow from CZCustom. For the customized Shadows, I was told they had allocated guns but the wait for the build was 6 weeks like it says on the website. For the difference in price vs. Gunbroker prices it seems like you'll get much more gun. After getting my 85 Combat, all I can think about is getting the competition hammer, original 85 trigger and springs and wishing I had bought a Shadow. As is it shoots great, but the DA pull isn't comfortable for my beat up and average sized hands.
  16. After writing this, I considered the Grand Power K100 pretty seriously, but ended up buying a lightly used CZ 85 Combat. I will be picking it up at my FFL early next week, just in time to test it and then go to my local USPSA101 class the following weekend and the classifier the next day. Have belt, BT DOH and mag pouch on the way too. Thanks for the feedback.
  17. I had just seen some 3Gun Nation online. The DVR is now set. So the standard CZs have a comparatively better trigger too, not just the custom shop jobs? Good to know. Thanks for the help.
  18. There are a handful of them on Gunbroker right now.
  19. I am interested in trying 3gun this season. I will be totally new to competition. My current pistol is a compact and so not appropriate. I've wanted an FNX-9 for quite a while. I might be able to get a (very) used standard CZ-75b for less than the FNX though. Will the standard CZ still have most of the characteristics that make CZs so popular for competition? Will if be that much better than the FNX for a beginner? I haven't used either yet, and will likely not be able too before purchasing. I had used a friends FNP a few years ago and really liked it. For the purposes of simplifying the question, assume I can adapt to the ergonomics of either choice.
