Try loosening the hex head screws that hold the primer system in place. Tighten them with the press handle all the way forward. Try tightening the shell plate. Any luck? Ken

I spent about 15 min cleaning mine up. Runs 100% now. I think I paid $35 or so for it. Well worth it.

Huh, I just started loading 10mm using Blue Dot, and I felt it was pretty consistent. With sampling every 15-20 rounds and loading about 200, my charge weight didn't vary by more than .1 gr on any sampled rounds. ALL were less than .1 off. Is your powder measure smoothed and polished? Mine is like a mirror inside. Funny, I was thinking how much I like Blue Dot, and how decently it measured. Good luck! Ken

Yeah, I love having fun. Oh, I'll wait til things settle a bit. I have my dad's press which he bought in '87 or so. It runs ok, the tolerances just seem a little loose to me. A tune up would definately do it some good. Thanks for saving me the trouble of googling. Ken

Anyone know what it costs to have a 550 rebuilt? Or for that matter, whats involved with a rebuild? Thanks, Ken
