So I currently shoot limited. Ive wanted to try open for a while now, just cant justify the cost in case I don't like it. On that note, would it be feasible and or realistic to have an open barrel fitted to my gun so I can swap out and play in open minor? Or would I have to change out too many parts to make it doable? It is currently a fdc but I would have no problem having that milled to a classic style.

Who frowns upon it? There is no difference in that and dropping the slide with a loaded mag in the gun. The slide goes to the exact same position either way with no ill effect on the pistol. This sounds like it started with the same people who said dry firing was bad for your gun.

I have an overly large head. NONE of the off the shelf ear muffs ever seem to fit my head right. Who makes earmuffs that have a larger than normal band, preferably in the under $100 category.

Not the 1st time around. I saw that it didn't, and the shooter agreed with me. The second time I got a lot closer than I was comfortable with, in case he tried to go back up range to reshoot anything, to make sure I got the last shot.

I RO'd a pcc shooter at a level 2 last weekend. When ULSC, the time was almost a full second faster than the fastest time on the stage. PCC is the only ones I have ever had timer trouble with. All others, even from a distance, have picked up every shot. The shooter requested a reshoot because he knew the time was not right. It all falls down to trust and honesty. Trust in the RO's decision and the honesty of the shooter if they believe their time is right/wrong. It also helps to have a timer with and easily adjustable sensitivity.

Freedom 180gn is all I use currently. At a level 2 match last weekend I chronod 179 PF out of a 5" barrel.

So i saw one of these at a match recently and i really liked the charging handle. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with their upper. How was it, any problems ran into?

Not everyone has that kind of money. Also why would I pay for parts that im going to replace anyway when I can build it to my specifications the first time with only the parts I want.

I have a question for the folks that have built their own PCC. I have an XProducts side charging upper that I want to use in my build. I have seen that a lot of the ar9 lowers say something along the lines of "designed to work exclusively with our Brand X upper receiver". Has anybody ran into any problems with just slapping on any random upper on a 9mm lower. Looking to get mine finished pretty soon.

The taccom barrel is a damn joke. Its a damn 7" barrel with a 9" "muzzle device" (basically a shroud that serves NO FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE other than "legality") and they want almost $200 for it. They are out of their damn minds.

So I will be building/having built an open glock. My question is has anyone run a slide mounted red dot on ANY open gun and is it better/worse/bout the same as a frame mount. I would really prefer not to have to get a whole new holster just to fit with the carver mount when I have a perfectly good Ernie Hill holster. And before anybody asks, im doing a Glock open instead of 2011 so that it pairs well with the 9mm carbine im going to build.

What optic for carry optics has the largest window. To me it looks like the delta point, but ive only every seen them in pictures. I would like some input from people who have actually used the different optics.

Of course. Everyone bought trubors over shit ass dvcs due to quality and price. Now that the trubor is no more you HAVE to buy a dvc or get a custom or used pistol.

If my wife had the hand/arm strength to shoot a 1911 id be getting her one. But the glock is comfortable in her hand and she can rack the slide. And its not too heavy.

I swore I would never in my life purchase a glock. Either 1911 or nothing. I would not even allow one in my house. Wife starts new job at new pharmacy in a part of town im not too thrilled with, ok no problem she only works till 4pm. Pharmacy gets broken into, NOPE, shes getting a gun. AAAANNNNNND what gun does she like the feel of???????? G19. So my question, is there truly that much difference between gen 3 and 4 to warrant spending the extra $50-100. Also what are some of the more minor, inexpensive things to do for a strictly carry glock.

Waiting to see when Oilfield Classic is, would like to do Area 4, but if they conflict/coincide ill probably shoot Oilfield.
