  1. Anthem, That's what I'm looking for! Care to elaborate? Compression/clipping not good? Fit? Thanks! Not much to elaborate. They plain suck. .. They are not as good as just the plain pro-ears gold. In a range type of setting, the attempt to cut-off is atrocious. It just doesn't have the ability to cut off loud noises at a decent level. So while it tries to cut the loud shots off - it sounds like large distorted splats(audio clipping) that its trying to muffle out, which it fails to do adequately. . You are better off with over ear muffs than the gsp15's. i can't say enough bad things about them - seriously.
  2. The gunsport Gsp15 from etymotic will disappoint you greatly. Bought those and returned them right away. If you want in-ear electronic seriously consider brad at hear- pro ( I believe a sponsor here). Better than double plugging.
  3. will concur with above on rice with HP - bad idea. . .. also, i have found rice just doesn't last as long and shows dirt so much sooner.. . Almost like you have to rinse rice all the time but the more you rinse, the more it actually dissolves. So again - not as advantageous as other medias
  4. No problem at all. Just saying its mildly obvious :-). Now, if you post what you normally hold, that would actually be "helpful" . ..
  5. Not to be an arse, but thats mildly obvious. You could extend it further by saying if you stock up for 2 terms worth of presidents (8 years), you an then have plenty before you hopefully have to make adjustments to your stock. Or maybe you should say 16 years and then some since thats the longest one party has stayed in party consecutively in the pseduo-modern era. .. What I was trying to see was what kind of stock people were stocking up during this sort of "run" on supplies/parts/guns/ammo to see where we all stood. Because I generally have around a year, but with the shortage, you let some friends borrow some here/there - things deplete a bit more quickly. Yeah, you can shaft your buddies and horde like crazy but thats not exactly good neighborly friends because someone else didn't prepare adequately.
  6. Yes that would probably be helpful information. I shoot about 10-15K rounds per year. So thats about a years worth or at worst about 8 months worth. Definitely a bit on the shorter side of things, but just wondering what others are "carrying" as an average that they always have.
  7. Wondering what people normally stock up in primers, bullets, brass, and powder for shooting sports. I'm not talking end of the world type of scenarios, but what each of you guys are stocking up to have an adequate supply. This is kind of an extension of a post I made about what people are doing with the reloading shortage we're seeing now. I stock the following(usually in each caliber), but am now finding that it doesn't appear to be enough - 10K bullets 8k brass (usually this is enough as you can usually recover brass) 12lbs of powder 10k primer total. I usually try and keep my primer and bullet total the same, but since I've been able to get bullets in the last couple months but not primers, the primers are whats running low. Looks like I'll be doubling/tripling that number when things hopefully settle down.
  8. I think Georgia arms is completely out. Atlanta arms is not taking new customers but existing customers are limited to 500/caliber per month.
  9. I currently run plugs and ProEars gold. Just ordered a custom set from Brad @ hear-Pro's. He was a pleasure to work with. Hoping to get them in soon, so we'll see how they are vs double plugging.
  10. I have a steel grip SV and a polymer STI. I just purchased the STI aluminum grip and am sending it to my gunsmith to replace/fit the polymer STI. The Steel one is smooth and I feel no resonance as indicated above. No idea on the aluminum STI. We'll see how that goes in a few weeks.
  11. I put in an order for .40SW a little over a week ago and just got shipping notification on thursday. Haven't seen the package yet, but something looks to have shipped.
  12. I have a couple orders out with PV. Primers seem to be the biggest holdup for my orders. Some stuff is ready to ship, so definitely trickling, albeit slowly.
  13. I also ordered the .40SW conversion kit and that came within two days of the rest of the order. So it does look like they are about 3 1/2 weeks from order to delivery from January. Don't know about now.
  14. I actually thing everyone has a free right to what they believe in. The 2A has a lot if interpretations. If you take it literally with no reservations then it means your neighbor is allowed to have a nuke or anti tank rpg in his living room. Not sure most want that so we all accept some limitations. The question is where. Now in terms of competitive shooters - I am not sure everyone in that group believes in no limits either. I think most keep their views quiet due to sponsors etc. the sport can apparently still exist even with gun control - look at Europe with kirsch and grauffel - although none of us would like to be under those same restrictions. But she does being up a good point. That many there are not trained and what they preach about most (safety and not covering anything unless you intend to destroy it) may not be taken as seriously as someone without any training .... But if you are pro 2A - then you also have to recognize abs be pro 1A. Tou and I might not share the same views but she could be a competitive shooter who does believe in gun control and is allowed her views in our great country.
  15. Ordered a xl650 with accessories on 1/14 from Brian enos. Delivered on Wednesday last week.
  16. I usually buy things by the thousands as well. Primers 5000 at a time, etc, etc. I figured the rifle calibers would be problematic and stocked up on 5.56 and 6.5 grendel that I have. Didn't think the reloading primers/powder would be that bad. So yeah, after 2 or so months, am running a bit lower than I am comfortable with. I have quite a few larger orders in with most major suppliers so hopefully i'll get some supplies soon. The problem is that its not getting some supplies - you need to have /all/ supplies (casing, powder, primer, bullet). If you're missing any, you're dead in the water. So yeah, primers are a bit crazy right now. Just wondering what everyone is doing as I noticed I'm shooting a bit more this year and going through my stock faster. Let's hope this crap resolves itself soon.
  17. What is everyone doing about ammo availability for USPSA/IDPA/IPSC matches ? Open is 38S/SC, and Limited is usually 40SW. With 38S/SC your only real options are a couple of places and reloading. With 40, you might have a few more options and also reloading. Since reloading is almost no longer possible to get bullets or primers - its getting very tough to impossible to reload. Commercial ammo is also not widely available either. Many places are rationing any ammo purchases to 500 per month. That's like 3 range sessions for the month and then you're waiting on ammo. . . Any ideas of what people are doing ?
  18. It is definitely heavier than the smaller optics like H1/T1 or RMR type of optics. If you're hauling around for long periods - then its a factor to consider. But in terms of CQB and other things - the SRS will blow away most others since the large FOV and view through the optic is much easier to work with. It's good essentially from 10 ft out (haven't shot past 100 since the ranges here are only that large).
  19. I have one on my ar. Haven't tried to use it for really long range, but love the large FOV. It's a big piece of glass but doesn't weight that much on an AR. I replaced an eotech XPS2-2 with the SRS and couldn't have been happier.
  20. You probably could have offered it to the guy who bought the gun at a decent price and see whether he wants them or not ? . Although shipping ammo these days isn't very cost effective unless you have a large shipping discount. . I tried pricing a case of ammo and it wasn't pretty.
