Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. No issues here -- City sewer system If I was on a septic I would probably dig a hole and dump -- Unless you have a really shallow well I can't imagine the goo doing any harm -- should be well filtered by the time it hits the water table...
  2. I run warm tap water to start -- we're in NJ with city water so whatever chemicals they add You have to rinse a few times -- the dirty water looks like black coffee on the initial dump after a run -- also can't let the cleaned brass sit undisturbed in a dirty drum -- if you can't rinse it right away thats fine just run it for 30 minutes before you dump it -- just to shake the crap up so it pours out Then rinse, rinse, rinse
  3. Nice job Lou -- I also have to ask --"2 inches of armorall" -- do you mean 2 inches out of the bottle? -- I might just give your formula a try I just built another tumbler -- going to a guy here on Enos from Louisiana -- this one is with an 8" drum being able to run 20 pounds of pins and 18 pounds of brass -- total drum weight of 80+ pounds
  4. Treadmill motors run dc voltage -- that's how the speed is varied -- by adjusting the input voltage you can do it but you do need to incorporate the power supply into your build
  5. The liquid lemi shine rinse aid works for me -- 2 or 3 drops added to the normal soap, lemishine, and water mix
  6. Ibeji -- Makes a great coated bullet and the plant is local to me -- Owner shoots and supports our local matches and will hand deliver to the match -- can't beat that
  7. Nice -- anything in those drums as agitators?
  8. I am not sure if you saw my link... there is a picture of my actual container on a treadmill... all I really need is the stand and Motor. Ill call BigDawg up to see if he can construct something for me:)! Im sure it will be very close to what he already is doing. If you missed my container here it is... its a beast but not terrible to handle! Its heavy all filled up: http://vid1078.photobucket.com/albums/w481/cundiff5535/IMG_2052_zps9b5d8adf.mp4 I'm wondering if that drum will chew up the rubber on the rollers -- It's a very small contact area with a huge weight potential -- The PVC pipe drums spread that weight out over a much larger surface on the roller -- Just a thought... Sorry about the multi quote --- Can't seem to get rid of it
  9. The big drums are definitely a lot to handle -- This is an 8 " drum with 18 pounds of .223 and 20.5 pounds of stainless pins Thats full up with water ready to roll -- machine handles it no problem
  10. The 1st JK book doesn't go into tuning -- Its basics only but very detailed and a must read Supposedly the 2nd JK book goes into tuning but I don't have that one to confirm...
  11. I have a post on my local gun forum about how I run my stainless tumbler --- It's pretty detailed with a lot of comments If you care to read here's a link: Some real grungy brass turned to Bling If you have any questions, ask them here -- Hope it helps
  12. Now, when I sell a tumbler, I just point them towards Ebay for pins... Link or name of seller? Pellets LLC ? Just search "stainless tumbling pins" on ebay and take your pick -- I don't know how they make money once you add ebay and paypal fees You can also find the XL .062 pins if you go into some of the sellers stores --
  13. Yes -- Last winter I was buying them direct -- 300 pounds at a time -- I did that 3 times and sold all but 25 pounds -- This was just before they came out with the Ultra sized pin -- Or at least before the ultra became popular -- That guy on ebay sells the pins so cheap it became unprofitable so I stopped buying them... Now, when I sell a tumbler, I just point them towards Ebay for pins...
  14. I was trying to express the pin size more than anything... Not a frankford arsenal -- Can't do a 60+ pound drum at that price I made my own...
