  1. Hi, I currently use 1.5-inch high JP mount with 2-inch offset for new Vortex 1-6. However, it is a little too high off an AR base and I constantly need to pull my head and eyes up. In 3G matches, it just strains me too much. Does anyone know of some good 30mm mounts that sit no more than 1.2 - 1.3 inches above the base? All the ones I researched are only 1.5 inches... please suggest. thanks
  2. why don't you like FN? I got one based on recommendations and it completely amazes me, especially for the fact that it is priced very reasonably...
  3. what are you going to use your CZ for? you get Shadow Custom for production div and CTS custom 40 cal for limited. Buy either depending on your purpose but go with the custom versions.
  4. It all depends what you will use it for and what quality glass you want to look through... Yes, there is a big price jump from about $500 to $1300 (PST 1-4 and razor hd 1-6). Have you ever looked through razor hd 1-6? The glass is the same quality as other famous brands selling over $2000. On 1-6, the picture is totally stunning. PST 1-4, the glass is average but okay. I feel that it is easier and faster to find your hold on 1-6 when shooting 400-500 yards in the match than doing the same with 1-4. The reticle is perfect on 1-6. It is not too busy and it has just all the right things you need. Illumination dot and its settings are great and help a lot during the matches. Even though people with 1-4 are trying to downplay 6X, but 6X is much better than 4x especially on this scope. the exit pupil is very large at 6x (versus other scopes) and clarity is amazing at such magnification. Besides matches, I also wanted to use this scope for hunting. I only shot through it at hogs at no more than 300 yards and I am happy with this scope performance in hunting too. If you were to get a cheaper 1-4 scope now, but then later you might regret that you did not pull up all the way to 1-6. I see a bunch of folks trying to sell their 1-4s and upgrade. Don't be one of those later on. and just buy 1-6 now. Ebay authorized dealers have some great offers. That's where I got mine from.
  5. welcome! it is good that you are allowed to have guns in Philippines. In my birth country, it was not allowed 100% except if you are a criminal, then you can own any gun you want... lol
  6. welcome! you should start doing matches. don't think of it as competition for the first many matches... just shoot and have fun. remember to not worry about time but only accuracy and engaging all the targets. Speed will come later. good luck
  7. welcome! and congrats on 550B. it is a nice not-too-expensive reloader!! I have it too and love it. good luck in competitions.
  8. I would suggest a 4-gun cart from Rugged Gear. At first I was trying to find something cheaper or build my own. but after exploring all the options, the easiest and most-usable option was to buy a cart from Rugged Gear. It keeps all 4 long guns upright (which is a must in some gun clubs). the cart has lots of compartment and space for other gear/ammo/supplies. It is easy to maneuver. You can use it not only for 3G but for sporting clays/skeet/traps/etc. I even used it going bird hunting. no need to carry everyone's gun. also, it is well made and of good quality.
  9. hey vortex buddies, can you suggest some 30mm mounts that are somewhere between 1.1 and 1.25 inches high? Right now I got a JP mount, which is 1.5 high and it is a little too high for my natural hold... There are so many products out there but I can only find outliers... like too low or too high...Appreciate your input. p.s.: Vortex is a hidden jewel in gun optics... These forums pointed me to Vortex and I am glad I did not go with the flow...like getting leupold or burris or whatever else. I am totally amazed with my razor hd 1-6. Now, I am going everything with Vortex. I just got Ranger 1000 (rangefinder) and about to buy a long distance hunting scope. My simple advise: do not buy anything else but Vortex whether 1-4 or 1-6 for 3G. thanks, Eli
  10. I need to do 9mm minor loads for Production. I only have a box of small pistol magnum primers. Trodrig - you said you use small Pistol Mag primers for Production Minor... really? is it possible? I am desperate as I have no small pistol primers left. Shall I just try Magnum primers for 10-20 rounds as a test? I always go by the manual but I have to improvise. Any advise will be appreciated... thanks, Eli
  11. thank you, guys, for your inputs! I just ordered Vortex HD razor 1-6x... The reviews for this scope on these forums looked awesome and I was sold. Now, the question is what mounts for this scope shall I get? I want quick release. I am not sure how much offset (2 or 3 inches) I shall get... any help/insights are very much appreciated. thanks
  12. What division(s) are you going to use your NXS 2.5-10's? Tactical? Open? I've been on a market for a new scope for few months now and kinda leaning towards this NXS 2.5-10x32. I am planning to use this scope for the Tactical division while running offset iron sights for the close-up targets. I still don't understand why most folks use 1x-4x or 1.5-5x for 3-gun competition...
  13. Hi everyone! I just joined this site. A friend of mine referred me to this resource. My name is Eli and I live in Austin, TX. I like competitive shooting and so far participated in USPSA matches only. However, my real interest is in multigun competitions. I shot rifle competitively as a kid while growing up in Ukraine. I decided to pick back up where I left off. Eli
