I had it in my head to never stop myself, but in retrospect, I guess I should have stopped myself and forced a restart?

Shooting open, I wear amplified ear plus with a MSA Sordin over the plugs, and leave that turned off.

It's more about not starting in this situation than stopping yourself.

  2. If you start prematurely it's a stop and reset you situation but if you are moving AT the start signal it's a creeping penalty. RO has a lot of discretion in this case but if you're the shooter and just stop in this situation, it's going to be a reshoot.

Do you wear electronic muffs while you are the shooter? If so turn them off.

Thank you all for the response.  Not shooting to slide lock would certainly solve 50% of my concern.  I hadn't considered that.  I'm required to shoot to slide lock for requalification at my "day job", so just assumed I'd need to in carry optics.   When I competed years ago it was a 10 round limit, so had to deal with slide locks and lots of mag drops, so I was taking that mentality into carry optics.

I wish I could find a gun show or gun shop that had competition ready guns in stock, but everyone I call is out of stock for what I've wanted to look at.  I  had considered the Canik Rival-S and steel PPQ, but haven't found a single one at any of the gun stores I've called.  I'll use everyones advice to help narrow my search, and hopefully find a gun to get me "back in the game".

    Thank you!

Go to a match. While the Canik and Q5 SF are not SUPER popular, there's a good chance you'll see one. A CZ with thin grips is also pretty small.

ALSO, there's nothing wrong with shifting your grip in order to get to the mag button. Rob Leatham does it with a 1911, every time.

It feels like we've gotten away from realistic concerns. For practiscore to "expose" you with a private profile your hypothetical employer would be looking through practiscore matches in your area looking for you which is a big leap from seeing you've posted competition footage on social media or are wearing paraphernalia at work.

Has your employer actual made an issue out of this from just Practiscore?

All they have to do is google your name. My name comes up on hundreds of pages relating to practical shooting. If I were to change careers where this was suddenly and issue, I'd be screwed.

I've seen this posted before, but when I started 18 years ago or whatever is now we still looked at the overall results. You could print them out really easy with easy win score back then.

So it may be something that affected majors, but on the club level I've always seen the overalls

Print them out? Scores took weeks to come out and then would look the same as this format always has

If PractiScore wouldn't do that, its support team would be answering non-stop questions from people who believe in what you say that either ask why people's division results aren't present or why their division aren't shown by default...

You'd just have to change the home page of the results to have links to all the divisions, like USPSA's website shows.

I don't get this Lo Cap = 15 rounds nonsense.  That's daft.  15 rounds does you no good.  Even with 15+1 you have no extras when shooting two views.  Since OEM mags hold 17, go with load to capacity.  Then with 18 to start you have two makeup rounds.

OP, there is nothing you can do to increase SS participation, short of paying people to shoot it.  The way things are going, all the participation will be in optics divisions.  When my eyes said no more Limited, I switched to Open.  CO wasn't a thing back then.  When they changed the CO rules to be essentially Open minor, almost all of the Prod shooters in my area switched.  Most of the Limited shooters also switched.  I don't see anyone going back to irons.

Time to break out the XDms and CZ p10's that hold 19 rounds

Please post in here if you are an IDPA Master and if you also shoot USPSA, your classification over there.

If you shoot IDPA majors for any length of time, M is almost inevitable.

M in SSP and ESP via bump (a looong time ago) and CO this year via the 5x5.
USPSA GM in Prod, Limited and CO also
