On the off chance I misread your tone and it wasn’t a petulant rhetorical comment.
I mis-stated. I have read the rules. But that’s not really what you meant.
I haven’t STUDIED the rules that don’t apply to me. I’ve read them but haven’t studied them.
It’s akin to reading laws as a layperson versus studying them as a lawyer.
I missed the “or” word in the decocker rules and didn’t understand the definition of manually decocking.
So why post? To understand and clarify why the rule was changed.
It’s like that with IDPA rules. I’ve read them but IANAL and appreciate the rule interpretations and discussions on the FB forum.
There are similarly unhelpful people there that you can count on to say “read the rules” no matter the discussion while others try and help.
I hope to gain enough knowledge of the application of the rules that someday I’ll sit for the RO class.
Reading the rules sometimes isn’t enough, but that’s not really what you meant I suspect.
Maybe you had a hard day or something.
Hope today is better for you!
So many things to say but I won't because you probably wouldn't even understand it.
The word decocker appears only a few times in the rulebook. Ctrl+F to find it
" A hammer is considered to be in the "hammer down" position when the hammer is placed
there by pulling the trigger while manually lowering the hammer (manually decocking)
or by activating the decocking lever if present" -
Why bother posting in this thread at all then?
-
You should read the rules.

Decocker rules modified so that a CZ decocker could be used?!
When has this not been allowed?

There is an IG account that has crawled the data and posted the top bunch of runs on each classifier but that guy got banned from USPSA for various reasons so doesn't look like he'll be keeping up with it.
-
It died because it split the division into a good one and one nobody wanted to participate in
-
IPSC tried a Prod Optic light and how did that go?

-
How many times in the history of the sport have they taken a popular division and made it more restrictive?

What amazes me is the number of shooters ,some quite good who zero their guns, or try to, off hand.
I have never shot my guns from a rest or bench.

The difference between a 15 and 25 zero is almost nothing though. Anything from 15 to 25 should be fine.
I usually tell people I zero at 18.5...meters. Their heads explode.
It doesn't really matter.

+ 1. 25-yards is perfect for USPSA/SCSA, ICORE, IDPA, regardless of what gun & load you're using.
Most people can't shoot groups well enough at 25 yards to zero there.

I don't need no stinkin classifiers anymore...although matches without them do feel somewhat emptier.

Nice. When the fires of hades subside around here I'll have to check it out again

In the pic you posted your fingers are all together though which I think is better. If you asked someone to squeeze something as hard as they can, they wouldn't stick one finger out separately like that.
Then again Grauffel does it so wtf do I know?

I've shot IDPA a handful of times, mostly practice, one official match, and of course during my wait for the stage I study and plan out every move. Then when the buzzer sounds I fumble for magazines, hesitate on targets and ran in the wrong direction once. How the heck do I get over this hump?
I wouldn't expect you to have the intricacies of stage planning ironed out after one match. I think you are being too hard on yourself.
Come back after you shoot 50 matches and let us know if you have the same problem. -
Heard they build some new bays there? How many are there now?

not if you are countering the finger pull with push from the thumb
I have always shot with the finger hooked but I have giant hands that make guns look tiny. This is a P10F and you can see my support hand index finger wrapped all the way around the trigger guard. Since my hands are so big if I put four fingers under the trigger guard then my pinky has no place to live and is useless in making grip. I shoot the same with my P10C, full size 1911s, SP01 and S2.
I dont think that is what most people are referring to in this thread when discussing this technique. They are talking about this

you can thread your USPSA outer belt through your pants and use whatever tek lok mag pouches and holster you want. Hell, even a DOH is legal now.
-
Personally I wouldn't invest in a 226 Legion because it's not going to be any good in USPSA. Even if you aren't doing USPSA now, you may want to in the future and having one gun for both is nice.

One guy I only know from seeing him having traveled to matches all over as an RO.
The other guy I only know from seeing him having traveled to matches all over as a shooter.
The president position shouldn't be a $75,000 match travel sponsorship.

Absolutely. The divisions that allow 2011s are essentially dominated by 2011s.
-
Adding LO didn't change what CO is though. The suggestions in this thread would.

This was posted by Troy on this site about 9 years ago. Not that forum posts are legitimate rulings or anything but here it is

She is correct, though, there is no order of engagement on this classifier. It was not shot in a specific order at Nationals. I do agree the course description could be cleaner. Sounds like a good project--writing wsb's for all the classifiers.

I was shooting a Tanfo for a while but switched to the Walther Q5 Match and then Q5SF when they were paying money for match wins. I liked them both but the grips are too small if you have even average sized hands. The PDP is probably better but no steel version available. I never see them anywhere now though. Everyone has either a 320 variant or a Canik. I know I sold my Walthers when they stopped paying, lol.
