Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. You'll get a lot of info here: https://www.gunsprings.com/FAQ
  2. Take the guesswork out of the equation and order springs for the Commander-sized pistol from Wolff. Their Commander springs differ a lot from the Government sized springs. They have different spring diameters, and different spacing in between coils. One spring with a certain weight would have a different number of coils from the others at a given length.
  3. You may also want to check how the primer is properly seated if you are using handloads. An improperly-seated primer can give you a false analysis of a light primer strike. You will encounter a misfire, and when you try to ignite the primer the second time around, it will usually ignite since the primer has moved (and most likely seated) in the primer pocket. You also might want to check the mainspring cap or the mainspring tunnel. Check for binding/drag. The heavier weight mainspring may have masked the issue of mainspring cap drag on the tunnel.
  4. Wolff springs will take some time to take a "set."
  5. Too low a recoil spring on the CZ might result in a damaged slide stop. I replaced the stock CZ recoil spring on my 9mm SA to Wolff 16 lb extra power recoil spring. The gun was initially shooting left. At around 100 rounds, the slide action smoothened and the projectile POI went back to the center.
  6. Easier to unlock with the Wolff Variable Power recoil spring. The Wolff Conventional Recoil Springs will have the same tension from start of the slide's cycle to the end of the cycle.

    147GR or 124GR

I've used 115 gr, 124 gr, and 147 gr FMJs on my SA. The most accurate was the 115 gr FMJ.
  8. Thanks for the replies. What would be the lowest weight hammer spring that I could use without changing to an extended firing pin?
  9. I have a CZ 75B SA (Single Action), and I would like to know the lightest hammer spring you can install without compromising reliability. My son is having a hard time getting good groups due to a rather heavy trigger pull. I'm wondering if switching to a lower weight hammer spring could improve the trigger pull.
  10. Took my son shooting yesterday using my CZ 75B SA, and he noticed that the overtravel screw was starting to protrude on the front of the trigger. I bought purple Permatex which is good up to 1/4" fasteners and followed the tips here on how to properly adjust the overtravel screw without compromising the hammer and sear. Thanks for the tips on how to properly adjust the overtravel screw.
  11. Try Centerfire Systems. They sell Armscor ammunition as well as Rock Island Armory 1911s which are made by Armscor. IMO, Armscor ammunitions are pretty good. They are built to SAAMI specs.
  12. Wolff for me. Never had any issues with their products.
  13. By the looks of it, the CZ 75B SA would fit your requirements. Single action, ambi safety, and flat mag brake.
  14. Nice pistols, bro. BTW, did you already sell your Limited?
  15. IMO, to maintain the pistol's originality and possible collector value, stick with the original spec springs. They are available from Wolff.
