  2. What is the gas situation like along the I-20 corridor from Atlanta to Bossier City? Here in Atlanta, things are pretty bad. If you can find a station that has gas, the line and subsequent wait will be at least a hour. I'm now hearing the problem is about the same in Anniston, AL which is along the route we'll take to the MG Nats. Is the situation better, worse, or about the same as you get into western AL, MS and LA?
  3. Chuck's advice to start at 8 is good IMO as I'm getting 171 PF with 9.2 out of a commander length gun with popple holes.
  4. Don't take the spinner away. If nothing else, use it on a side match. Me and that thing have some unfinished business.
  5. I can't speak for everyone who didn't finish all the stages but I know of two shooters and one vendor, other than myself, who chose not to shoot at all or who didn't finish their last day stages. I'm sure there were many more. Even though the weather Friday and Saturday (early am) was good, the mud was as messy and aggrevating as the rain. I loved the references to the "start ponds" that I heard. I shot the first day in the rain with my am squad and was going to set up the vendor goods in the pm, but we were nearly 4 o'clock finishing (as opposed to noon as scheduled) so vending that day was out. Everyone was so wet and muddy that there wasn't any traffic in the vendor tent anyway. All everyone wanted to do was get back to the hotel for a shower. Since the weather Friday was good, I opted to not finish the match because I knew vending Saturday was out due to Ike. I needed to try and recoup my sponsor and vending investment and I knew Friday was my only chance. I didn't see a single vendor set up Saturday. Most everyone who was driving back to the southeast left Saturday after last shot instead of Sunday as planned in an attempt to get across Louisiana and Arkansas before Ike rolled through there. I've never been so glad to get off a range in my life. It was nasty.
  6. man. brass is pouring out of that thing like water out of a bucket.
  7. My guess is those 50 are going to be really happy during the trip home. Match sponsors have donated several guns and numerous other prizes which will be awarded as I understand it, via match finish or random draw.
  8. Unfortunately, of the 7 minutes of my shooting you captured, about half of it was at one plate on stage 6.
  9. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Tim and your family.
  10. My first time at the DPMS Tri-Gun, but hopefully not my last. What a great match! We had an awesome squad with J.P, Bennie Cooley, J.J. Johnson and the guys from Brownells. Thanks to Chris Conley and Gary Welborn for letting me share a ride, and to ap3 for hooking us up with a room. (By the way......we took a vote..... )
  11. Makes you want to go out and buy a whopper don't it. WDTN Dayton website
  12. Both Shooting USA and American Rifleman aired episodes on the event. It's the American Rifleman episode I'm looking for. I emailed them thinking they, like Shooting USA, might offer shows on DVD for sale, but they responded that they did not, and did not plan to in the future. 00bullitt has the show still on his DVR and we're looking to see what options we have to get it copied to external media. Hopefully that'll work out. Thanks for the research and information.
  13. Yeah, tried that but couldn't find anything of any help on their website.
  14. I've got the DVR set to record all the shows now, but missed the recent episode. Was hoping to get a copy; not knowing how long it might be before they ran that one again. I didn't even know they were there filming the match and had aired a segment until someone told me about it at a local match this weekend.
  15. Does anyone have a copy of the American Rifleman show where they were covering the 2007 Ft Benning 3 gun match? Was hoping someone had it on a DVR that had an option to copy to a CD or flash drive. Would be "appreciative" to the extent of cash or goods for the time invested to get a me a copy on a CD or flash.
  16. To prevent hijacking this thread, and to keep those pesky moderators happy I've created a thread in the dealer forum. Please use this for any comments about Adventure Travel. The mod may want to migrate any associated replies in this thread to that one as appropriate. Here's the link for ease of access: link to thread for CPWSA Adventure Travel comments
  17. I'm not aware of any a la carte offerings other than the kits you reference. The problem there is you end up with way too many of the plastic brackets that go on the gun. I personally think it's a "marketing strategy". Only other option would be to find someone who has extras they want to sell.
  18. Man, you didn't waste any time getting the first report up. Still jazzed about that 4th overall tac optics and high LE finish huh?
  19. Mike replied that as long as the slugs are not marked low recoil or managed recoil, they are acceptable for HM use.
  20. Does anyone know what determines whether a slug is reduced or not? As long as the shell or box isn't advertised as or marked "reduced" or "managed" recoil, I suppose it's good to go? I've got some S&B Special 28 slugs I was gonna use. There's no reference anywhere to them being reduced or managed recoil. Are these ok for heavy metal?
