Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. It isn't just PCC. None of the rimfire divisions require a draw either. None of them start pointed at the first target though.
  2. There are far less people shooting L10. I suspect it's just due to the more people shooting it, the more likely it is that someone is going to really burn it down and drive the HHF up.
  3. Cool! I'll be out there to shoot with you guys at least twice while I'm there then.
  4. You guys have matches there every weekend on Maui? I'll be there in July for maybe a couple weeks. I shoot Open but I don't have any 10-round magazines so I may have to shoot single stack while I'm there.
  5. The FB page doesn't say otherwise, so I'm assuming there's still open spots?
  6. Reading this thread just makes me more appreciative of my location in regards to where I get to shoot. Around here, picking up brass is part of stage resetting. I shoot super comp, and shoot roughly 2-3 matches per week. I couldn't afford to keep shooting if even the weekly matches were lost-brass matches. Even if cost weren't the issue, super comp is hard to get your hands on these days.
  7. That would be awesome! That's all I do in my spare time here in Arizona; shoot guns and ride mountain bikes! I wondered if there was much mountain biking there.
  8. That would be pretty cool if someone had mags that I could use. We were supposed to go to Maui but we're meeting my mother-in-law who is traveling from Japan, and I guess it was just easier on her to fly into Honolulu. We actually visit Hawaii quite a bit, so the next trip will be to Maui. Hopefully I'll get out to shoot next time I'm there. I found some Arredondo spacers to limit the number of rounds that you can fit in your magazine. Do these have to be permanently installed somehow to be legal, or am I ok if I just stick the spacer in the mag where it can be removed later once I leave Hawaii?
  9. Hello. I'll be visiting Oahu from 7/22 to 7/30 and I'd like to find a local USPSA (or steel) match during my visit. It looks Hawaii Practical Shooters has a match on 7/27 from looking at their website. Are there any other matches during that time frame in the area? Also, other than the magazine limits, is there anything that I need to be aware of with Hawaii gun laws? I know that you have to register your gun upon arrival to the state, so I'll look into that, but I just want to make sure that I do everything legally. I'd love to shoot my open gun while I'm there since that's what I usually shoot but, unfortunately, I have no 10-round magazines for it so I'll probably be shooting single stack. This is probably a long shot, but is there anywhere there locally where one could find 10-round STI magazines (9mm)? I've looked around online but can't seem to find them in stock. Thanks in advance, and hopefully I'll see some of you out there soon.
  10. I've been searching the forums on this topic and found this thread. Has anyone swapped out the barrel/comp to shoot major? I understand that the Steelmaster will shoot major PF just by swapping out recoil springs (at least that seems to be what people are doing from what I've read), but I'm thinking that it would be more ideal to just swap the barrel/comp for paper matches, and use the stock barrel/comp for steel. If someone has done this, which barrel and comp did you go with, and how is it working out?
  11. Not sure how the Precision bullets compare to Bear Creek (Moly coated), but I do have a load for their 147 grain bullets. I haven't run them through a chrono, but I have run a couple hundred rounds like this out of my XDm 5.25 and they seem fine. I've shot paper with them and haven't seen any signs of tumbling or anything. Anyway, it's 3.3 grains of TG @ 1.120". I've actually tried 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 grains, but I eventually stuck with 3.3 even though all three loads seemed to shoot ok. I did get a couple tumblers with 3.1 grains at like 1.115", so YMMV.
  12. I'm also interested in a load with 231 for the steelmaster. All I have is 231 and Titegroup, and I'm assuming the 231 would be the better choice of the two. I'd like to get my hands on a different powder, but no one has anything locally, and I'd like to avoid paying a $27.50 hazmat fee to try 1 pound of something if I could.
  13. What bullets are you using with these loads? AZ, This loads run behind 125 grains zero JHP-C. Cool, thanks. I'm just looking for a starting point for some 9mm major loads.
