  1. Got the daughters 18 rd mag from T&N in the mail yesterday. She loaded it up and ran 18 rnds without any issues. She had a big smile on her face. We will try to play with it some more this weekend.
  2. Just got a new 1301 last week. So far I am really enjoying it. Stuck a +7 Taccom tube on it and called it good for now.
  3. My daughter had issues with her gun going into battery when it was new and running 2 springs. Removed 1 and never had another issue. She has around 5000 rds thru it now and is still running 1 spring.
  4. What size is that mag in the pictures?
  5. She has 2 of the T&N 10 rounders and they work perfectly. We originally thought she might try 2 10's coupled but she feels like it is awkward. The 18 should be about perfect. I think she would have issues carrying anything any longer (she is small).
  6. I have not talked to Jim or Nanci about larger mags. I will get in touch with them and go from there. Nanci has been great to work with so far.
  7. Are the 18 and 23 round mags reliable? My daughter has a new Firebird Precision TAC-12 and is interested in mags larger than the 10 rd ones she is using. Her gun is running 100% with the 10's and 5's. I am considering the 18 and 23 rd ones that T&N sell but wondered about reliabilty with that many rounds in a mag. Opinions?
  8. My daughter originally had trouble with all her MBX mags.....rounds under the follower. MBX paid for us to send them back so he could fix them. Very quick service and zero problems since he fixed them.
  9. I have an 8moa C- more and it works perfectly for me at stock height. I have only tried my production gun loads (Berrys 124's at about 132pf) and they run great.
  10. Another vote for C-more. I tried a Vortex Sparc on my Scorpion but the C-more (8 moa) is much faster to get on target.
  11. I don't see how a minor load would produce enough gas to make any difference in recoil. I do believe it might help with the dot bounce. I might have to give it a try.
  12. Let us know what you think of the MKA Match when you get it. I agree on the CZ Scorpion.....I shoot mine in PCC at USPSA matches and it runs perfectly.
  13. Todd7446 can I ask the shot weight of the 3 dram loads? When we tested a first gen Akdal she found out that 7/8 oz loads made the recoil much softer. With heavier loads she hated the recoil enough that she almost changed her mind about open class. How would you say the recoil is on the TAC-12? At the same time she tested a fully modified Saiga (with a mid barrel comp) and liked the recoil but not the ergonomics so much. We intend on buying something next month so that we have some time to work out the bugs before the season starts.
  14. Can anyone comment on the advantages/disadvantages of the Tooth and Nail MKA vs Firebird's TAC 12? I am planning on buying one or the other for my daughter next month and have been reading everything I can about both. Tooth and Nail seems to be very actively building and competing with their guns. They have a metal lower available (which I think is a requirement for consistent running) and a mid barrel comp. I don't see much activity lately about Firebird but I like the fact that he makes his own upper and lower receivers. I have seen threads about customer service between the two.....at the moment I am more interested in hearing about the guns themselves. Reliability, parts breakage, recoil, etc.
  15. Which extended mount is recommended for the Razor HD Gen 2? Is 2" enough for the Razor? Is the SPR the proper one?
  16. Can anyone comment on the recoil of a Tac12-A1 vs a stock Akdal. Is there any difference and if so why? My daughter is currently testing a slightly modified Akdal and a highly modified Saiga and is struggling with the recoil on the Akdal. The Saiga has a mid barrel comp and the recoil on it is noticeably softer. She likes the Akdal ergonomics but prefers the recoil of the Saiga. She really wants to shoot open (loves her USPSA open gun) but we are struggling with making a shotgun decision. Any thoughts are appreciated.
  17. We reload 9 major cases until they split.
  18. My daughter's 170 holds 30 rds of 9mm and has been flawless. We plan on ordering 5 more (3 140's and 2 170's).
  19. I e-mailed CZUSA a week ago to ask if they had submitted the paperwork to get it added to the production list and if they hadn't did they anticipate submitting it soon. So far no response.
  20. My daughter uses a Ghost Stinger for hers and CR Speed pouches.
  21. Anybody using the BBI 125 gr RN in a CZ Shadow? I have been waiting on 125 gr Zero JHP's for months. My daughter has been having good luck with the Zero's with HP-38 (4.3gr) loaded to 1.088. We need to find some bullets quick or her next match will be her last one for a while.
  22. Ordered my first press this week...650XL from Brian. I have been watching videos and reading all I can about setting up the 650. It honestly doesn't look like it should be to difficult if you take your time and use some common sense.
  23. Daughter got the Shadow Custom with the short reset trigger for Christmas. It is amazing how nice the trigger is.
  24. If she has small hands give the CZ SP-01 Shadow a look. My 11yr old daughter found that it fit her hands better than anything else and the recoil was very manageable.
  25. My daughter (11 now) started competing last year with a custom Ruger MK3 and a 10/22 shooting Steel Challenge and Rimfire Madness. Next year she will be shooting a CZ Shadow Custom in Steel Challenge and USPSA limited. We picked limited so that she could concentrate on the shooting and worry less about reloading/stage layout. She picked the CZ because it was the only 9mm she tried that fit her hand well and she thought it was the easiest to shoot.
