  1. I’d like to see a weighted standard P320 grip.

    226 Legion SAO RX

Wow. I’m surprised, but it wasnt really hard for Sig to do. But I had one first! ? But to up the stakes Sig should make that pistol with a Steel frame like the X5. I put my 226 RX slide on a friend of mines X5 frame. It did make a difference for sure. It was before the Black Cerakote and compensator.
  3. I bet Springfield Armory loved the news of the Trojan being discontinued. I bet they will have a huge majority of the production 1911 market now with the Range Officer. I agree that the Dan Wesson line of 1911’s is top notch. But also about twice the cost of the Springfield. In either case both guns are more accurate than I can shoot them.
  4. Me either, there is little to no difference between shooting my 9mm and .45 so I’ll take the points. My guess is recoil managment plays a big role in 9mm over a .40/.45. But I have to admit,... that 9mm 1911is a very fun gun to shoot.
  5. Ive had great experience with Ramshot Competition in .45 ACP. Meters very well in my Dillion.
  6. Good chance is a #3. My Trojan barrel link broke around 20,000 rounds. It was a #3. But as mentioned above. Try and measure whats left to come up with the dimensions.
  7. Dawson Precision 10 round 9mm mags run flawlessly in mine and also a friend of mines RO.

    226 Legion SAO RX

Pretty simple really. Bought two guns, a Legion SAO P226 and a MK25RX. Had the slide Cerakoted black and put it on the Legion frame. Bought a SIG Threaded barrel and got in contact with a guy on this forum who made the Compensator. (Not going to put someone’s name on the forum) The magwell is from TRT Tactical. Can’t use factory base pads with it though. Polished the trigger components and put in a 19lb hammer spring. Runs great!

    226 Legion SAO RX

Probably have to make your own.
  10. This is a great kit also. http://www.1911store.com/tunedtriggergroupbcg-proseries.aspx
  11. Picked up a 9mm Range Officer for under $700.00. Thing runs flawless with Dawson mags.
  12. Grip also plays a part in this as well. Strong vs weak grip. Kind of like limp wristing.
  13. Humm, I wonder if S&B made a change? I used S&B about two years ago and they were harder than CCI small pistol magnum primers.
  14. I'm running Fiocchi SPP now. I'd also say they seem to be the same as Winchester SPP's. I'm almost finished with my second case of 12,000. I'd for sure buy them again.
  15. Guess the bottom line is if you have the money and want a custom gun then go for it. Custom gun won't make anyone a better shooter in my opinion. They just look cooler. A Trojan, Sig Max, and a Range Officer got me to Master in SS. And still the only thing holding me back is me. Not my 1911's.
  16. Well said. I completely agree. My Springfield Range Officer is a better gun than I'll ever be a shooter. My not be as pretty as custom but does the job well.
  17. The Dawson IPSC magwell looks shallower and could possibly work for you. https://dawsonprecision.com/magwell-1911-ipsc-classic-division-by-dawson-precision/ I use the no-gap ICE magwell myself. Love it. I run Trip Cobra mags and Chip McCormick Power mags in my Range Officer. Both run flawless but have found myself leaning more toward the Chip McCormick's. Some time you can find sales and get them under $25.00 each. Great mags and almost $10.00 cheaper than others. They also are easy to seat.
  18. So you don't want the gap insert I take it. Then you would need to file material off the front of the stock base pad to seat it. And just looking at it I'd say even if you done that they would be to short to seat rapidly. Might look into a Smith and Alexander magwell/MSH for those stock mags. But still not sure if they would be long enough. You wanting seven mags total?
  19. I've had a couple pair of VZ's and they are very good. But LOK are my go to grips now. Great quality at a great price. And cheap shipping. http://lokgrips.com/gun-grips/1911

    Romeo 1

Do you find the Romeo 1 lacking in brightness also? That's the only complaint I have with mine. Compared to a Delta Point Pro it's very noticeable.
  21. For some reason I shoot the Springfield better than the SIG Max. (Both .45) But I agree it's a good gun. Wish they would have made it a Series 70 though like the Springfield. I took the hammer and sear out of the Max and put it in one of my RO's, put the RO stuff in the Max. LOL.
  22. Just an FYI. I just switched out some standard bushings for some slim grip bushings. Thought I'd try the Challis Hex Drive Bushings. Very nice! They use a 7/32 nut driver instead of a bushing tool or screw driver. All I'll ever use from now on. https://challisgrips.americommerce.com/c/21-Bushings.aspx
