  1. Will be interesting to hear what happens with the 2011. I've shot thousands through my Edge without any issues.
  2. I wondered this myself and happen to have a Limited Master in my squad at a Area Match who had one. He said he didn't think it was a huge difference but the gun did have a different feel to it. Said the best thing is that the fiber optic in the front site last longer.
  3. Is it normal for this barrel to buldge brass. IMO it's worse than a glock. Pistol it very accurate and runs great. Just curious if this is normal. Brass fired from my stock Edge with the STI barrel will fit in a case gage without sizing. Thanks
  4. Bear Creek, BBI, Bayou, and Precision all run fine in my STI Edge. Some run cleaner than others but they all seem to shot great.
  5. 4.9 of WST with a Precison 185 gr bullet at 1.200 OAL was 174 PF at the Area 5 match.
  6. I like the RNFP's the best by far.
  7. I've just recently put TT springs, followers, and 4G basepads on my STI 140 tubes and they work great so far. 20 easy.
  8. I put Taran followers, springs, and Base Pads on my 140mm un-tuned mags and got 20 easy reloadable.
  9. Can you tell if the plating is about like Berrys or thicker?
  10. About 8000 rounds through my Dan Wesson Heritage without one problem. Eats everything I put in it. Really loves the Bayou 230's. Shoots straighter than I can hold it. The Check Mate mags work the best in mine. The mags from Thunder Mountain run flawless and are a great price as well. http://shop.1911parts.com/Thunder-Mountain-45-ACP-Ultimate-Match-II-Magazine-8-Round-tmc-ss-45-tripp-8.htm
  11. Weren't you running 5.2 gr at 1.200 OAL? Thought I read that somewhere. I've got some Frontier Bullets RNFP to try with WST. Never loaded plated or jacketed with WST before but I love it with lead bullets.
  12. Could you elaborate please? Do you mean I should put some lube, i.e. break free inside the mags, particularly on the ribs? He means that there is no bullet lube in the lube groove. Only the bare lead bullets have it and not the coated lead. I wish more manufactures had non-grooved bullets. IMO the perfect coated lead bullet would be the Precision 185 gr with the Bayou coating. Sorry, off topic.
  13. I have no idea but would love to know myself.
  14. Got the same problem. Thought I knew what was causing it but was wrong. The brass case is sinking into the lube ring. So far they all still feed and fire.
  15. 4.7 of WST with 180 gr Bayou loaded to 1.185 (170PF) 4.7 of WST with 185 gr Precision Bullets loaded to 1.185 (174 PF) Out of STI Edge 5". Going to Chrono some BBI 180's soon.
  16. Still can't order X-treme plated bullets yet but I noticed they raised their prices. Over $20.00 per 1000 on the 180's
  17. I do not know if there is a difference in the Guide Rod between a bull barrel and a bushing barrel.
  18. Here is a pic of the back of the Dawson Tooless guide rod. That the bevel you were talking about?
  19. The Dawson Precision tooless guide rod is a drop in and a great product. I have one in mine.
  20. Yep, loaded 19 in the mag. That doesn't seem to be the issue. Thanks
  21. I'm running an OAL of 1.185. A very common length for a 2011. But none of my mags are tuned so going to try that first.
  22. Looks like your assessment was correct. I made some dummy rounds and cycled them through my 2011. I had been shooting FMJ's so the lube ring wasn't an issue. Without knowing the rounds were dented I reloaded the ounce chambered rounds back in the mags for the next stage. Thats what confused me as far as when they were dented. I will try tune my mags and see if that make a difference. The 2011 platform is new to me so still learning. But what a awesome platform it is! Thanks
