  1. Sarge and BeerBaron, Thank you both for letting me know about the fcd. It was appreciated. All the best Mark
  2. Hi formernuke, I was considering this kind of as a last resort as I am trying to cut back time at the loading bench. If the Lee option doesn't work, then it looks like I'll be dedicating some time during the week to do as you suggest. Thank you for getting back to me. Regards Mark
  3. Youngeyes, It looks like the Lee Carbide factory crimp die may be the way to go with this. Thank you for the video information. That was good of you to take the time. All the best Mark
  4. I decided to give the Mini Mr Bullet feeder a try on my RL550B. I'm loading .38 Super Comp. Because the Mini Mr Bullet Feeder takes up a station I'm going to have to use a combination seat/crimp die on the last station. At the moment I've got one of the newer Dillon die sets with the inserts so I currently seat on station 3 and remove the belling on station 4 with a taper crimp die. Is there a die available that allows you to both seat and taper crimp the projectile at the same time. If not, what do you guys do to get around the problem? Errr, as much as I'd like to, buying a 650 is not possible for me in the foreseeable future. Any help would be gratefully accepted. Mark
  5. It's funny how things work out. I was contemplating how to connect a Harrell's Scheutzen powder measure to a Ponsness Warren P-200 reloader I use to load .38 spls. when I came across this thread. I don't load all that many .38spls so the slower speed of the P-200 doesn't bother me and I kind of enjoy using the old beast. I have a Dillon 550B for .38 super which is what I mainly shoot. Is there anything around that allows you to mate a Harrells type measure directly into a 7/8ths by 14 turret press hole or would Al338LapuaMagnum's solution be the way to go?
  6. Old Vark WSO, Thanks for your reply. I actually polished the inside of the powder measure a while ago and it came up quite well. Thank you for going to the trouble of posting the link and pictures. It's appreciated. The hassle is actually with the drop through powder die/expanding plug, it was listed as a powder funnel but it doesn't really describe it properly. Punkin Chunker and Coleman, Yeah, it looks like it will be a two part job. Dowel or a split metal rod with fine grit paper wrapped around it to smooth out the worst of it followed by a rag with polishing compound on it. I'll have a look around and see what I can press into service for the job. At least if I mess it up it won't break the bank getting a replacement. :-) Thank you both for replying. take care, Mark
  7. Hi, I'm reloading .38 Super ammo on my Dillon 550 press. Recently I stripped the powder thrower down and cleaned it and at the same time removed the powder funnel. I found the powder funnel was quite rough on the interior and there were several flakes of powder adhering to the inside of it. My question is, has any one on the forum polished out the inside of a powder funnel to ensure the powder runs smoothly through it? If so, what did you use and how did you go about it? I'd be grateful for any input. regards Mark
