I also use a Lee u-die to size all my 9mm brass. No problems chambering in my Sti Edge, Sti Eagle and Sig X5. I also have a Springfield EMP with a tight chamber where about 1 or 2 out of 100 of my reloads will not pass the plunk test. I just separate them out and shoot them in my other guns. As long as i separate them out the gun runs one hundred percent. I suppose I could send the gun back Springfield and have the chamber recut but I would just as soon leave well enough alone. Ray

Unless one checks every case to make sure there is powder one runs the risk of having a mishap. If one fails to check every case when reloading regardless of the brand of powder, Unique included, and there is a mishap, there is no way to tell what happen because one failed to check every case for powder.....Expensive lesson I would agree...Ray

While Unique is not my favorite powder, I have not had a failure to charge a case while using my 550b or my xl650. In most cases squibs or double charges occur do to some type of stoppage such as checking the weight of the charge or having a primer seating issue. Not having the fail safe rod in place or not properly adjusted will get you in trouble also. Visually checking each case for powder is reloading 101. I do it on the 650 even with the powder check die in place. Ray

I have a Dillon 650 with the powder check. The powder check system is set up to detect double or no charges. I would doubt it is any more accurate than the RCBS lockout die you are using now. Ray

I ordered my 650 on January 16. I received it on February 12, one day short of 4 weeks. I was more than pleased considering the current goings on. Ray

I assume you are talking about a 550b in which case the 9mm and the 223 conversion kits have the same locator buttons. I would not recommend trying to modify shell plates. In the big scheme of things you would only save about $30 because you still would need to buy a powder funnel. Ray

I think you are headed in the right direction by noting the primers may not be seated deep enough. My Sinclair priming tool will seat the primers deeper than my Dillon press. You could maybe pickup or possibly borrow a hand priming priming tool and try seating the primers a little deeper taking care making sure you don't crush them. Ray
