    trigger safety

Thanks cpa. I actually found a thread where other guys had described the same thing about an hour after I found out what my issue was. But your original question got me to dive deeper and pay more attention to what the heck I'm doing.
  2. They are great for the price. They do start to hurt my head after a while. I wouldn't want to wear them all day. And I have. I bought a pair of MSA Sordins with the gel ear seals and have been extremly happy with them. Much more comfortable than the Howard Leights, but way more money as well.
  3. I run the Tripps on my Trojan in 9mm and have not had one single issue. I would highly recommend them.

    trigger safety

I figured mine out. When I twisted the trigger bar to place it back in the trigger mechanism housing, the trigger spring was getting twisted. In other words, the hook on the spring was horizontal. The spring hook should be vertical and catch on the notch at the bottom of the metal. That little difference was the reason for the middle part of the actual trigger not coming all the way forward and doing it's job. I tried this with the stock trigger spring and the Zev comp. If I didn't have the hook connected correctly, the middle part of the trigger would not reset all the way forward. So in my case, it was operator error. Perhaps, the last time you took it apart and put it back together, you did the same thing. Either way, I'm glad you started this thread. I'm certainly better at taking my Glock apart and getting it set up better.

    trigger safety

This thread kind of made me nervous about mine since I put the Zev competition spring set and the V4 connector in last night. I went to basement to check it out, and I had the same issue if I let the trigger out slowly. No problem if I released the slide with the slide release or if I grabbed a handful of slide and used the sling shot method. I put the stock trigger spring back in and it still did it. So I tried putting the stock safety plunger back in and it seemed to fix it. Then I threw the Zev safety spring back in and it works fine. I about 99.999% sure the spring wasn't in sideways as I paid special attention to it when I disassembled the gun. After I put everything back together (Zev safety spring and the stock trigger spring) it now seems to be working perfectly. I'm not sure what the deal is. Maybe the safety spring wasn't seated correctly, but it sure looked like it to me when I took it apart. I'll certainly be paying attention to this issue.
  6. This. I made it about half way through it and I was done. They even served beer in the theatre and I STILL walked out. That movie was awful.

I just ordered this set up grom GW. I'm really looking forward to trying out. Especially after my first competition with my completely stock 35. Pretty ugly.
  8. Here's the list for the matches on the front range. I realize that this thread is a few weeks old, but hopefully it helps. IPSC/USPSA 1st Sunday, Aurora 1st Monday, Colorado Springs (indoor) 2nd Saturday, Colorado Rifle Club (north of Byers CO) 2nd Sunday, Pueblo 3rd Saturday, Ben Lomand (just south of Kiowa CO) 3rd Sunday, Weld County (Greely CO) 4th Saturday, Aurora 4th Sunday, Clear Creek (in the foothills west of Denver) 5th Sunday, Boulder There is also a steel match every Friday evening just east of the Colorado Springs airport.
  9. Please keep us informed of how you like the add ons. I should get mine from gunbroker this week. Pretty much going to go down the same path as you.
  10. I've had a Trojan in 9mm for a couple years now. Granted I don't shoot all that much, but I can't get the thing to fail. I've gone hundred of rounds without even touching the thing and it just keeps on going. I can't speak to the SA, but in my expeirance, the Trojan is a great gun for the money. Heck, it's a great gun period.
  11. Well, I got out and shot my fourth match in 5 years or so. I'd really like to shoot more this summer. Single Stack minor with my STI Trojan. Points: 56 Time of 10.39 Hit factor of 5.3898 stage%: 62.5
  12. Hah! Small world. You and I were bidding against each other.
  13. Thanks again guys. I am going to try and hit a local match this weekend. My plan is to pick up the speed a little bit. Although I haven't shot since the middle of October. "Check out SS nats scores, theres gotta be a reason the top 117 shooters are all MP" says a lot.
  14. Thanks guys. I really appreciate the advice. Hopefully I can get a hall pass this Saturday for the match. We are blessed with a ton of competitions where I live.
  15. Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. After looking over the scores a little more, I definitely think I need to pick up the speed and accept a few C's. I know the accuracy is there, so time to step up the speed and work on the stage breakdown. Also, shoot steel first, I shot the cardboard first, then found myself pausing just a second to see if the poppers were going to fall. Thanks again guys.
