It seems more sensible to me to have to switch back and forth between uspsa and ipsc rather than switch back and forth between california and the rest of the western states.
Seems like there is also a not insignificant number of folks who shoot on both sides of the US-Canada border.

Not sure if you are serious.
If they were contemplating a change like that I hope the first step would be to poll the membership. A second step might be to fund the purchase of all guns from people who prefer to shoot 40 minor & could not load to 15 rounds .

translation:
Straight barrel, normal rifling, use any bullet you want.
Some guns (glock?) with polyangle rifling say to not use lead or coated. I've shot lots (30k?) coated out of stock2 with polyangle rifling. Tanfo doesn't try to limit ammo choices.
Thorough and clear.
Thank you!!

Now that USPSA has made the division official a lot of the pcc folks are busy petitioning for inclusion in trap and skeet.
I suspect you you will see them return to pistol matches after the shotgun match issues are ironed out.

Have a steel challenge match Sat & USPSA Sunday. Like the first shot advantage for the latter & really like it for the former.
Agree that deep seated winchesters will work, just prefer the best that I can get.

" Stock I has a cylindric barrel,113 mm long, that can get excellent results also using coated tender ammunition bullets."
Can anybody out there translate Tanfo add type to English? I'm assuming both the Stock 1's and limited pros will be traditional button rifled barrels? Not sure why they would feel a need to mention coated bullets, some Tanfo's can't shoot coated lead like bayou & sns & etc. ?

Thanks!

Add hammer spring. Shoot Winchester.
I don’t get this obsession unless you shoot wheelgun. A 6 pound DA in your DA/SA production gun is hilariously easy to shoot
A 6 pound pull in a wheel gun is the same as a 6 pound d.a. pull in a semi auto.
I checked the math twice.

Any idea when it will make the USPSA production gun list?

Maks - Watching this video again, don't know if I've ever seen a flatter shooting gun.
Will be very interesting to see some independent comparison testing. Some shooters can make major power factor 40's & 45's appear to be extremely flat shooting so the video I'm taking with a grain of salt for now.

But they are screwing with it. Largely, it appears to me, because "too many" people have been "hooking up" on the peak performance/hero-or-zero runs.
Since they're screwing with it, I would prefer to see them move to a better system that doesn't require judgment-based handicapping of HHF's. See
for my suggestion of a percentile-based system.
No debate. Not sure that the hero runs hurt anybody except the person that chooses to over classify.
If somebody has A class field course skills but wants to compete against folks with M and GM class skills (for example) at matches I do not see the harm to anyone else.
Now if there was a cure for sandbagging, and I only know 1 person that deliberately abuses the system that way, I would think it would be good for the sport as a whole.
(And I haven't read the other thread yet)

The organization is forced to try to set a HHF that will either appropriately measure peak-performance/high-risk runs, or will appropriately measure "match-mode" runs.
Really not. Find what works to get a fair spread of people in the classifications according to skill level & then don't screw with it. Like handicapping is used in every other sport I can think of.

And by "take some material" I just made mine a little shinier and it did the trick. Very little had to come off for my Gen 2 trigger bar.
Anything that close and I will stick the gun in a freezer for a couple hours and make sure it works cold. May not be an issue here or for shooting conditions where you live but sometimes it can be a thing.

Going a step further, as someone alluded to earlier in the thread, what exactly does classification even signify?
I'd peel off one more layer. What is the purpose of a classification?
In the rest of the world it is to make competition the most fun for the greatest majority of participants by giving people a chance for friendly competition against other people of similar abilities.

How did this thread get Amish all of a sudden?
-
Likely what you would expect I suppose. My best 6 on the USPSA website are all classifiers that have hit factors that have now been raised 10% or more. Darn glad I did not class up when I got close last year.

What am I missing?
Therin lies the rub for many of us.
It would be nice to know. Worthwhile considering the cost of the rest & other issues, I do not know, but nice.
Have toyed with the idea of buying the rest & offering it as a rental tool to try & recoup some of the investment.

Don't we vote on the BOD and the Prez for just that reason? Most people wont even know anything changed.
I think we vote on people who we think will do the business needed to keep things running smoothly, and we vote on people who advertise changes they want when they are asking for votes.
Beyond that, huge changes out of nowhere are always going to create unnecessary angst & not necessarily suit the best interests of the majority of the membership. It is not at all hard to advertise what changes you are considering, communicate the pro's and cons, and give the members a chance to weigh in and feel like their interests matter. As a side benefit it would add an interesting page or two to the USPSA publications which sometimes seem in need of more content.

There is really no good answer to this, someone will be negatively effected no matter what the BOD does.
I think the good answer is that you let the membership vote on all big changes.

Ben Stoeger claims that he has never been DQed, for what it’s worth. I believe he talked about it on an episode of his podcast.
I wondered about him actually.
He also said that he made master at his first IDPA match & GM on his first USPSA classification card (SKILLS & DRILLS , book intro page vii). Interesting individual.

Its great for not losing a good grip and its just as good on the occasion that you slightly miss your grip. it really aids in holding a good grip. i would recommend it to anybody.
For me once my grip is correctly established I think my hands could be coated in grease & it wouldn't matter until it was time to reload. For drawing & manipulating the gun I do not want my hands to be slippery though. When it is really sweaty outside I just grab a handful of whatever I am standing on (usually stone-dust-dirt here) at make ready, works well, stold the idea from Mr. Enos.

no double charging happens on a 550 other than just buy a 650 or 1050 or other autoindexing press.
You can screw up on any brand of press, particularly when you are having issues or making adjustments.
I've got a 550 and a 1050, "look in every case & stay focused" is where I am at also.
I get more worries from junk inside the brass that makes it past the deprime station (something fluffy like vegetable matter or whatever), do not see that often and maybe it would not lead to a dangerous round but do see that filling a good portion of the case on a few rounds each year.

Those are not official total numbers, just aggregation of recent matches.
I doubt if there is much correlation.

Your misses are primarily right-left?
If so I have been working on the same problem. Besides getting the eyes there faster have been wondering about the basic mechanics of maintaining gun alignment. In my case I am wondering if a bit more bend in the elbows would create a stronger/more stable means of maintaining right-left alignment, besides the fact that a shorter radius of swing seems like more efficient movement. Possibly something for you to experiment with??
Production to 15 rounds instead of 10.

My vote is for pcc 15, it is fun to watch most of those guys try to reload!
