I think when all is said and done they are going to find out that the change made production less interesting to those who like the challenges involved and just made it more one dimensional (how fast can you run) like many of the rest of the divisions. Time will tell.

No offense intended, but I shoot production 10, have shot what seems like 1,000 matches with a buddy that shoots ss major and another buddy that shoots revolver 8 and I used to shoot ss 8. Stage planning is often very different, it is amazing how much that extra 2 or 3 rounds changes things.

When I watch an r.o. following someone shooting an open gun and often breathing directly from the cloud made by gas exiting the comp, a little voice in the back of my head keeps saying "man this really does not seem smart". Early on I wrote USPSA (Troy) and asked if there had ever been any testing done to verify that breathing while running an open shooter was not harmful, at that time the answer was no.

Perhaps it would not. The mag dimensions might hold up to years of rough use at 15 rounds just like they do at 10, or it might be like shooting other divisions where tuning a mag once a year or whatever is sometimes necessary for ideal reliability. I'm used to CZ's and Tanfo's (14 round mags in 40) , I assume you could make a +1 base pad work within the production rules.

There is for those of us who think the added accuracy challenge (miss steel do standing reload) and the stage planning and the extra reloads are a big part of what makes production fun. We seem to be few and far between and are likely a dying breed. Another thing I really like is 0 magazine issues and near 0 magazine maintenance.

So far, 0 issues with 9mm. Screwed up and didn't get it high enough for 45acp to clear so when I get round to it I'll need to slot the holes another smidge upward.

On the old two speed case feeders I never liked that the motor stops and starts on every piece of brass and for feeding a roll sizer I'd like a bit more speed, so I blew $30 on a couple relays and some Din rail this morning. Should work I think, but I made the assumption that the switch and motor is coming straight off the 110v supply so I will need to revise slightly if I find that is a bad assumption when the parts arrive.

Fantastic thread. Has anyone tried to use a short reset disconnector with the stock hammer (ifg limited pro 9mm, small frame)? Don't know how the stock reset length would effect my shooting and I need to keep the stock hammer to be IDPA ssp legal.

As a very general rule I think it is good to prove there is a significant problem before implementing a solution. I've participated in development of corporate and national safety standards for combustion systems, it gets frustrating because sometimes safety rules spring only from the imaginations of those who don't have to deal with the consequences of regulations, and the consequences in cost and performance and reliability can be severe.

Have been running the DAA plate for a while, it is faster but the upside down brass and jams still happened. Eyeball fitted the DAA wedge earlier this week, haven't run a lot of rounds yet but with the switch in the fast position to feed my roll sizer I haven't been able to recreate a jam or get an upside down piece of brass so far. I assume it will be even more reliable when reloading and switched to slow speed.

Should you decide to go with an adjustable rear sight, Patriot Defense and others who mill Tanfo slides for conversion to optics may have used sights lying around. That is the way I went with my stock 1. Very easy swap if memory serves.

Are there any known incidents of people getting hurt due to a gun being out of specification on this check? Not debating, just trying to learn.

Something like that is what intuition would suggest, I don't know that I have ever owned a gun that would not drop the hammer with the slide back 1.5mm (0.0590") or less.

I have a Shadow 1 target from CZ custom and a Shadow 1 Orange, both guns are as delivered from the manufacturer/Custom shop. The hammer will drop on either gun with the slide back about 1/4" (6 or 7 mm), but at 1/4" of slide retraction the slide has not begun to move back away from the barrel and I suspect either would pass the 1.5mm gap test. For what it is worth. Ideally someone will chime in who knows details of the gap test, I'm not an IPSC shooter.

Because finding one was a wee bit harder than finding a unicorn and they were priced accordingly.

Good info. Would like to understand better. If I bought a patriot defense barrel they would need the entire slide and gun in order to fit their barrel, but if I bought an entire top end (slide + barrel) no fitting would be required?

I wouldn't be looking for spiders to be the high probability root cause, but if I was the original poster I would be taking the powder measure apart and looking for a wee bit of trash.

If you are going to put the effort into practicing I don't know why you wouldn't also put the effort into getting your equipment the best you can. To each their own though.

It likely used to be revolver specific, but it also works well if you want to get your da/sa gun below 5 lb on the first shot and some of the striker gun trigger kits can use the help also so I am told. Anyway Dillon 1050, federal spp, I have adjusted depth to the point where I deform the primer on some range brass and on other mixed headstamp brass just drive it deep, for the wheel gun it is all the same brass so the dimple is consistent.

I use it as a reason to keep having fun and not beat myself up so much. I get where you are coming from, just saying it is easy to let the reality of being older screw up your fun.

Many like them, for my CZ's I can't see a downside. For my Tanfo's the wobble you get from the smaller diameter of the center of the pin bothered me more than a little bit more fuss when removing the trigger.

Agreed. It is very nice to know if it will be a hoser match or whatever ahead of time so that you can make the right choice for you.

If I was going to change divisions I would have more faith in USPSA holding on to single stack than L10. It is frustrating to put in the $ and get all of the bugs worked out and then see the game change. Agree that you could shoot 10 rd minor with your production gun versus any competition shooting limited guns & major.
