Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. It was very difficult to remove when I changed the extractor to the Apex one. I broke 2 punches doing it. Persistence, patience and gun oil are your friends.
  2. I had to replace the trigger return spring after 10k. It was the Apex spring not a factory. Since I use my M&P 9L for USPSA and steel I change out the Apex Competition kit springs every year. I average 7k rds a year. Just an insurance policy.
  3. That kit is fine. You'll be in compliance with the rules. According to their website it says that it's 26 Oz.
  4. I suggest of its also your home defense gun to get ready Apex Duty/Carry kit. It gives it a 5.5 lb trigger pull. It's very nice. If you are using this gun in production you cannot make any modifications to the exterior of the gun unless it is OEM replacement. So Apex barrel is no good or even an Apex trigger. Happy shooting
  5. The recoil spring might be too light to extract the round from the magazine. Are the ones that fail to return to battery the last rounds? In my 9L I have an 11 lb with a 124 MG JHP with 3.9 gr of VV N320 with WSP. My magazines have the TTI mag bases with extra power spring.
  6. I think it's also a fad and it's onto the next craze in the world of shooting.
  7. I use a M&P 9L and shoot Limited Minor. Apex competition kit with Apex trigger, stainless uncaptured guide rod with 13lb ISMI spring Dawson precision fiber optic front and adjustable rear, hogue hybrid grip, ludus extended mag release, speed Shooters Magwell, Taran Tactical Basepads can reload 22 rds. Using freedom Munitions 115gr HP. Absolutely love it. I think people underestimate the potential of it.
  8. Does the slide of a 9L fit on the frame of a full size M&P 45 and work safely ? And also magazines? Thanks in advance
  9. I have had the catalyst in my 9L for 3 years and over 10k rds with no issues. It does require a drop of oil every now and then so that it's smooth.
  10. In my 9L I had my Apex spring break after an approximate 12,000 rds. I used a combination of Speer Gold Dot 124 Gr +P (mostly 7000 rds) and Freedom Munitions 115 gr. It took had a life span of about 20 months. I was shooting a USPSA match and it just broke. I didn't realize what the problem was at first when I couldn't take a second shot without racking the slide but eventually I just stopped because I ran out of ammo. And when I took it apart the spring had broke by the loop that goes through the take down pin. I now change out all my springs every year after the shooting season (in December or January) Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info
  11. Taran Tactical Innovations are the best. I have Taylor freelance and the shape of them is squared as compared to The which are rounded off and fit better in your hand. I have added grip tape to all my mags so they don't slip (learned the hard way)
  12. I have a 9L with a factory barrel but would like a KKM barrel. Dawson adjustable rear and. 285 front sight. Hogue hybrid grip with skateboard on the backstrap and points of contact where my hand touches the frame. Apex Tactical Competition AEK, Apex Tactical trigger, Ludus extended mag release, Speed Shooters Specialties mag well and Taran Tactical Innovations Basepads. With a Carver Custom uncaptured guide rod with 13lb recoil spring. I love using it and I wouldn't change anything other than the barrel. Best part of this gun is that all work was done by me and it works lol
  13. You could check out Otghex.com and ask him to make it so it clears your irons. Are you using this for competition? Only asking to see what kind of holster your looking for
  14. I would definitely keep a backup. Especially since there is a time limit for fixing a broken gun in USPSA. If you have the financial resources I would definitely get a backup gun. Good luck
