  1. Does anyone have time with the Timney Calvin Elite? It looks promising. I am looking to use it in a MSR 10 Long Range 6.5
  2. Give Tim a call at Taccom. He has always been great to deal with and will help you trouble shoot this.
  3. I just spoke to the NFA Branch and they advised that you have to check state by state for their individual regs and fill out the 5320.20 interstate transport notification form.
  4. interestingly this is in direct conflict to what my NFA examiner advised. The sticking point may be the interstate transport. It is worth a call. May the short barrel on an SBR or SBS be replaced with a long barrel for hunting or other purposes, with the intent of replacing the short barrel? Yes, and you will not be required to again register the firearm before replacing the short barrel. ATF recommends written notification to the NFA Branch when a firearm’s configuration is permanently changed or removed from the purview of the NFA. Last Reviewed February 17, 2016
  5. If it is a registered NFA SBR, it is no matter if you have a 16" barrel on it or not. You cannot travel outside the state without notifying NFA and complying with state NFA laws even with a 16" upper on it.

  9. Get the Strelok or Strelok pro app for Ipod or droid. Allows you to enter your cartridge and optic combo and calculate the impact / holdovers at any distance.
  10. I just put a strike eagle on a .22 and I love it. Great eye box. NO experience with the others though.
  11. Totally agree! If you can run the stage to avoid a moving-left reload, it'll make the RO much more comfortable and less likely to call you for breaking the 180. That being said, some stages just flow better toward a weak-hand reload. In that case, by all means, run it the most efficient way... Just be extremely cognizant of where your gun's pointing! Reloads moving toward your weak-hand are not impossible, they just take more awareness. Yep. Found a 180 trap doing just that on Sunday. Changed my reload plan during run because of an extra shot and the barrel crossed my midline and was just over 180. No complaints, went home and mowed the lawn. And will be much more cognizant of the potential for it next time.
  12. For me it is the Stretch 16 308 barrel. Melonited. 1/10 twist, intermediate gas. sweet shooter
  13. see if you can find one of the vortex first gen razors. 5-25. great scope and great warranty. the 2C reticle. I also completely disagree with post 2. The fact that it is a semi has nothing to do with it. Intended use and range of the cartridge do.
  14. Here is a 900 yard standing unsupported shot. Pretty damn impressive.
  15. There was a vendor event at reeds Sporting Goods (walker, MN) at Rice Creek Shooting club here in MN. The distributor was there. out the door, no tax and a free vortex hat. It will likely rest on a M&P 15-22
  16. I have and love the razor but a $247.00 strikeagle followed me home today. Couldn't pass it out for that price out the door.
  17. what is your budget? There is a 10 year old girl who is probably 4'8 and 75lbs and she runs a M2 with no problems at all. The softest are going to be the gas guns. Versamax, 1301, etc. M2 after that
  18. I am happy that matches are now limiting the walks to your actual squad. No day before, etc. Level the playing field. Walk it with your squad and take your chances / lumps.
  19. I am kicking around the same question. A large driver in my decision is the easily sourced Glock mags for either the JP or the Wilson.
  20. $675 for a match barrel isn't horrible. http://lriestore.com/collections/frontpage/products/lri-custom-replacement-barrels-for-ruger-rpr-6-5mm-creedmoor-24-5-8-24tm
  21. OspannerO. While Kurt has weighed in, I owe you the courtesy of a response. If I mis-characterized your comments as argumentative, my apologies. You had the foremost leading authority on Benelli explain the difference between a factory 3 gun and a Benny Hill custom job. It would be like Richard Childress describing the difference between a chevy and a NASCAR chevy. There are a number of excellent benelli smiths out there. Mike at Accurate Iron, Benny at Triangle, Taran at well Taran Tactical and Rose Action Sports. I respect them all. My Benelli went to Mike at Accurate Iron. It is exceptional. I listen when any of them talk about benelli. But when KurtM talks about benelli it is a PHD level lecture. If it were me, I would take that 3 gun you bought and send it and not just the bolt to benny. You will not be sorry.
  22. I love that the guy with 13 posts who admits knowing little about Benelli arguing with the SME Yoda of Benelli and his 5206 posts.
  23. Precision Rifle Blog has a nice eval of it and it was tested and reviewed very positively. Excellent entry into the precision side of the game.
  24. The site is spread out quite a distance but is in 3 sections. You can usually drive to each of the three but having a cart would be good because parking is some distance away from each sections bays.
