  1. It’s not a competition gun. If it were, it would not have a RMR. The RMR is a fine, rugged optic for the price point but for competition, there are many better options available today.

  2. I’m posting only because I spent way too much time searching for the appropriate sights to pair with a RMR. Maybe this helps someone else out.

    Glock MOS

    Forward Controls Design FCD plate

    trijicon RMR

    Dawson .330 front sight

    Dawson .335 rear sight

Dawson’s recommended sights are way too high for my liking. You’ll need to order the height above for the lowest possible use. These would be too low for SRO. Barely visible in RMR window - which is perfect.

It is very hard to get a good POV picture but you can see the sights are usuable but take up very little of the window.

Shadow 2 is a good platform for LO

can do it as SA only using a SA model or converting a DA/SA into SA only.

or keep as DA/SA and shoot it like a carry optic gun , or start in SA model with hammer back and thumbsafety on.

add magwell, and set up for optic.

Kept DA/SA, add magwell to Shadow 2 Optic Ready model.

I’m not sure if I appreciate the magwell or photography more. Bravo 🙌

  4. I’ve had 2 S2s done by CZC using their plate system. It’s been great and is future proof. I’ve also had a p07 direct milled by Primary Machine. I would 100% use CZC again.

What I like about the CZC plate system (or the OR version) is that you have flexibility to change out optics. If you direct mill, you’re married to that optic. Just food for thought.

If the gun is has a Nitride finish I would recommend you polish the chamber.  I have seen people that have had chambering/extracting issues improve after polishing the chamber......

    Good luck!

Old post but curious what to use to polish the nitride. Flitz?

  6. I have two Shadow 2s but for carry, prefer p07. No firing pin block is a no go for me to carry. This could be enough to get CZ fans like myself to shoot IDPA (gasp!)

  7. If you bought new grips and the gun feels different then practice until it doesn't. Running out and buying more grips won't help the big loss you're about to suffer next match.

I wonder if this also applies to the ~ 3 oz change from a new optic. Or maybe that’s something you can’t train your way out of without buying new gear (magwell).

When I was shooting my SP01 Bull shadow I went with the SSI 4.0’s with brass inserts, really helped to balance the gun out. I tried so many different grips over the years to get that perfect feel and the SSI’s were the best I tried. Had multiple sets of Loks, the armanovs, Vytal mfg and Hennings. I pretty sure I spent as much in grips as I did to buy and build out the gun.

This was my experience, too. One day I just ordered ALL of the grips. Kinda expensive.  Tried them until I found the best for me and sold the rest here on enos. I generally got $0.80 on the dollar but it was a worthwhile exercise.

I have one in a 4th Gen. It's not a bad trigger but not great either. I think you can piece it together for half the price. I have since changed the connector to something else (don't remember which, I swapped around 5 or 6).

Spot on. Had one in a Gen4. Wasn’t bad. Wasn’t great. When the striker spring wore out I put the OEM trigger back in and I don’t miss the Vogel. A minus connector is all you really have to do (if you must do something).

  10. I’ve tried all the major grips, including the two you mentioned. For me, PD Thin Aggressive are the best. I have 2 sets of the thin brass. I would 100% buy again. Super aggressive like my PT limited grip.

edit: they are THINNER than Henning, not thicker like you are looking for

  11. 135s are my favorite by far. Great accuracy with both Blues and Black Bullets. Nice recoil impulse.

And he has a newer high extended safety.

    just ordered.
I run a thumbrest on my TSO and I made it sit closer back towards the grip so the larger safety that curve back down in the front need so much grinding to stop my support hand from numbing it back on.
    🤞

Newer high extended as in the one off the TS2 Orange? I’d really like to try that one.

  13. I have 2 done by CZC. Very pleased with the turnaround time and fit. No issues with my SROs. I use the steel CZC plate.

For my second I was able to get a NIB shadow 2 for $1100. So it was basically the same price as a OR model.

Hard to argue with an OR model today tho.

  14. @eerw Great photos! Any chance you want to try putting that safety in a Shadow 2 to confirm it works?

If it works on a S2, can CZC order these safeties?

The height it what is appealing to me. With the S2 safety it contacts my support hand. I’d like to get it higher.

  15. The new TS 2 Orange appears to have a different (better???) thumb safety than existing TS2 models.

Can this thumb safety be used on the Shadow 2 or TS 2 models?

I detest the extended thumb safety on both models and this looks like a better solution.
