  1. I'm not in TX but Close in Carlsbad, NM Welcome, we started a new club last December and its awesome. We have excellent members with skills to build the club and stages. USPSA number NM18. We are having a Sempre Fi steel challenge on July 27th with side matches for pistol, rifle and shotgun. Everyone is welcome to this fund raiser for wounded warriors. PM me for more information. Happy Shooting DVC
  2. After reading this thread I decided to go to the range and see what my grip was doing and by making a few changes in grip tension I was able to flatten the recoil on my Para 16-40. I keep about a soft 50% grip with my strong hand and a stiffer 70% with the support hand and that changed my recoil a lot. First string I was getting consistent A's followed by C's AC Ac AC... when i adjusted to the above percentages it resulted in Double alpha every time. Now for my dry fire, I keep my attention on the grip solution for 3 - 15 min practices a week. Now for the next area match to see if I can maintain when the buzzer goes off.
  3. Here's my question: I life at 3200ft above sea level, dry climate. If I traveled to Louisiana for a competition, how would my ammunition chrono at sea level, hot and humid? Thanks for the feedback.
  4. Moly works great. Used Precision but now want to try the green ones that Bayou is selling. When Donnie makes the 40 SWC in 180gr then I will buy from him. Like the comment.... "I always shoot qualifiers like this". Some of my worst qualifiers were when I was REALLY trying to do better.
  5. Unless you get the green slime ones from Louisiana. Contact Donnie Miculek at Bayou bullets.
  6. Here's a link for Bear Creek price list; http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n268/jonzer77/BearCreekBulletandPriceListNEW81620111.jpg
  7. Bear Creek has a 180 swc right now. no 185 swc at the moment. but that would be interesting to try out Is the Bear Creek lead or coated bullet? Do you have a price per 1000?
  8. Isnt that a rather short OAL for STI?
  9. I love my 550. It gives me more control over the loads than a 650 with auto index. I can easily turn out 250 rounds per hr in 9mm, 40 or 223. I called Dillon and they set me up with everything I needed per my needs and budget. Good luck.
  10. Hi all. I'm looking for a solid SS 40 without breaking the bank. I have a Para 1640 and its great now I want to compete in the SS games. Any suggestions? Thanks
