  1. FFL isn't a problem, neither is $$$, just need to FIND the place. i looked at starline for brass and may contact them but the price of once fired 9mm is soooooooo cheap it's not worth buying new. unless they offer good disscounts on bulk orders. those surpluss auctions aren't worth it, the last one i saw near me in CT was a 55gal frum packed full of FC 5.56 and 600lbs. sold for $3,500 which comes out to about $120/130 per 1,000 pieces WTF?!?!? i can buy it for less than that already processed from people on a few forums. that price is even more than the scrap value.
  2. well i am involved in a new start up ammo company, since the processing of once fired ammo is time comsuming and some PD contracts require the use of new brass. so, do any of the large ammo companies sell brass directly? this is for an order of 20,000+ pieces. i have been talking with remington about it and they sell to wholesellers only, i am waiting on a reply back on how to become a wholeseller. does anyone know if the others do the same such as FC, WCC, LC or.... PPU maybe? i have been sending emails and making phone calls for a day or so but no answers or return calls yet.
  3. the shaft is kinda marked up, i'l take it out again and polish it up with some emery cloth.
  4. well i bought a used 1050 off ebay a while back in august, since then i've gone about 7 or 8,000 5.56 on it and 1,000 9mm and 500 45 i think. since day one it's been a littel clunky and i am going to be part of an ammo company soon i believe with that machine. so..... what exactly does a rebuild kit consist of and what are the parts that cen wear out? we took the press apart almost all the way but were not able to get the bottom cam bar/lever out. that seems to be the bearing with the most slop in it. what do you guys think?
  5. mine is the same, all the way at the top it's pretty sloppy but as soon as you go an inch or less the guid rods take over and it tightes right up
  6. i plan on just getting this http://www.reloaders.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28_30&products_id=73 then attaching a tube to the top or something like that so i don't have to feed each bullet onto the case. just keep dropping them into the tube ontop, even if it only holds 10 5.56 bullets it is still easier and more cost effective for me. i want to try the RCBS rifle feeder but i can't find just the conversion without the entire hopper set up.
  7. can you explain that more? the only thing i have run into with my 1050 is primer problems that i think are resulting from improper swage of mil-crimps.
  8. what type of bullet feeder on the 1050 is that?
  9. WTF?!?! where did you get all of that or are you reloading professionally? I bought 14.5k pounds. A mix of 9mm, 5.56, 308, and 50BMG. I have a few auto's that need feeding and i have been processing and selling a bunch of it. oh wow!!! was that one of the gov liquidation auctions?
  10. WTF?!?! where did you get all of that or are you reloading professionally?
  11. i have seen pics and YouTube videos of the professional machines that have that built in. looks like you can dump 2,000+ primers in and let it go. haha, i wish i could get one of those. i hate filling the primer tubes.
  12. i have taken the ratched bar off of my 1050 on all 3 tool heads, it doesn't let me go up enough to index the shell plate all the way to the next round. no idea what's up with it but it works perfect without it there so i've jut been doing that. gets stuck on this
  13. saw some things on the forum her... then spent about $15 at the local hardware store then eye balled this in about 20min. when i get some time i'll make it nicer but i was in a hurry to load some ammo. going to need another tool head to even out that rack. i can not post pics yet though edit..... now i can
  14. i plan to just buy the feeder die then attach a 3ft plastic tube to the top of it as the "hopper" so i don't have to spend all the extra $$$ on the electric hopper. sure i'll have to fill it like a primer tube filler but if i can put 50 5.56 in it at once and say 100 9mm it would go a lot faster than hand loading it myself. i'd just get a few different tubes with cotter pins pre loaded so i can pre-load say 500 rounds it would make things go waaaay faster unless you count the initial set up then maybe not but ehh it saves some money i guess.
