I`m looking for used or refurbished Camdex or Ammoload pistol loader. If any of you know where I could purchase one I would be VERY gratefull :)

where are you located and what caliber?  i have 6 of them, older late 80s units, 2 in 40cal 2 in 38, 9mm and 45 are at a guys shop now getting worked over.

the 4 i have here i'd value around 4-5k with feeders

Found what seems to be a good price on a Super 1050 with older single speed Forcht drive. The press comes by itself so I'll have to buy the caliber-specific parts. I guess that's no big deal.

As I understand it the Forcht is now available with a variable speed option. Can the older system to updated to current? Also, the 1050 is somehow permanently modified for the Forcht. Does that mean it is dedicated to automation or can it be converted back to manual? Along there same lines, could I keep the press and sell the Forcht to someone else down the road if I don't like it?

Thanks. Hope the old thread bump is okay.

you can convert the press back but it takes time, the craig system uses a constant drive system so he uses a custom cam like rotating base assembly to get that, i don't see why craig couldn't sell you the new motor and control parts to update your unit.

also what would you want for the autodrive set up?  you can PM me if you like.

    Perceived value?

The bigger brass weight on the dropped i can understand,  should help keep the output spring from pulling up which is mostly imo an alignment issue not a product fault, and get the Dropper to "home" a little quicker

Taller tube section also give more weight of stack to seat the bullet into the flared case

Dropper body changed to steel? Seen the original alum dropper bodies destroyed by monkeys with channel locks cause they wouldn't loosen a lock ring And seen grooving from the steel ball bearings as well in high volume usage  big enough issue MBF sells dropper bodies as a catolog item

Delrin balls prevents the grooving btw

those changes worth the price difference in droppers?  Maybe

    The adjustable stand ?

Ok that's a nice touch gets the weight off the case feeder

Not sure it's worth the coin but nice touch and maybe needed if going heavy on bullets

125    230gr 45s and you start out with 4lbs hanging  there

    The bigger collator ?

Commercial loader market and mine is bigger than yours snob appeal ?,

You need to refill primers every 100ish and top up the powder measure anyway

What's it take to dump a yogurt cup of two of bullets in at that time?

    Rick developed a good concept

Saul had the funding to comercialize it

    and factory produce it

Then tweak it and upsize it for the comercialized And conspicuous consumption crowd

he's charging what the market will bear

    Basic econ101

we only load primed and processed brass so it just goes and goes and goes unless there is a jam.  i can see the larger collator being better as i can put 500 bullets in there and have less monitoring.

aside from the materials in the actual feeder die on the tool head is there anything else that is different, does it still work the same way?

steel bearings or delrin?  we've used the delrin but they wear out and will stick then dump all the bullets out at once.  any experience with steel?

  4. they need to make a mod on this where you can double it up, have it feed cases at both the 6 and 12 o'clock positions to load already primed/processed brass.  we only load processed brass, weather we prime it ourselves or buy it primed depends on cost and availability but it's just soooooooooo much smoother to run pre primed brass.

feed, powder drop, bullet drop, seat, crimp, eject fro stations 1-5 and then same with stations 6-10.

then it would run "slow enough" that regular Dillon case feeders and the mr. bullet feeder will work fine, plus most of us already have those things along with lower cost.

with this set up 1500 strokes would be 3,000 rounds an hour without the need to speed it up which is when things tend to go wrong and crash.  if the end user still wan'ts to run the thing fast 2,000 strokes an hour would be 4,000 rounds, that's in the area of $30,000+ machines.

plate would rotate slower to make 2x the rounds, possibly if the end user wan'ts to get really crazy 2 different calibers, say 9mm and 45.

the company i am with has zero interest in a revolution due to cost vs the production numbers.  we run 3 mk7 1050s and 5 ammoloads.  if a stripped down revolution set up the same way as i described above were available without feders in say the $5,000, maybe $6,000 with some sensors we'd be buying some for sure, if they work as well as the conecpt we'd be selling off all the ammoloads (around 3500rph) and going to a duel revolution that could do 4k+ at a fraction of the cost.

  5. I have a pw that took a long time to get just right and I still don't like it. We have 3 of the units Doug linked to comming in 2 for supers and 1 for an RL. At least 1 of the machines will wind up with a 3ph motor but run off of a 110v VFD for infinite speed control.

hmmm can you explain that a little more and can i get that from the chain drive guy? i'd prefer that over changing out the sprockets.

  6. i have been talking to the chain drive guy, 99.9% sure i'll be going for that because you send him the machine and he sets it all up for you. also like the mech of the chain drive since there is no lever action and this looks so much smoother.

why are the PWs annoying? because of the linkage and what not. we have a 650 on one and have broken 3 of the index rings so far as it just blew them apart, i'm saying we sell the entire 650 set up with auto drive and get another 1050.

  7. cleaned it up more today and picked up one of those bearings so you can really tighten down the shell plate lock ring... WOW what a difference!! soooooo smooth, no wiggle, nothing and i also put some molly lube on the shell plate bearing and main shaft, much better. can't wait to start cranking some ammo out of this sunday.

  8. Buying .556 brass through govliq only works when you bid on the larger lots. Right now everyone is full retard so the little lots are going high because more individuals can afford them. Last month I bid several 20,000lb + lots that stayed under $3lb for brass, it takes a lot of players out of the game when you're spending $40k plus rather than less than $5k in each lot.

do you have that much brass? very interested in a large supply of like 20,000+ pieces.

so do you reload it or recycle or....?
