  1. I think I remember reading that someone said that the optimal weight of a 19/2011 slide is 10oz. Is that correct and is that with a full “stuffed”slide with barrel, spring, guide rod, bushing, extractor, etc... or is that a stripped slide?
  2. Well I do know that because I cast and powder coat my own . I have a boat load of .357’s sitting on the shelf and I actually prefer to shoot +.002” oversize and not .001” over as you’ve suggested.
  3. Have you plunk tested your ammo?
  4. Great, thx for the info guys.
  5. That’s an interesting approach which makes raising it a lot easier and more accurate.
  6. But my 550 is used for oddball calibers; .380, .45 and .223 while my 650 is dedicated to 9mm.
  7. So, which way do you drive the pin out? From the top or bottom ... and ... do you re-stake the hole on the inside of the slide each time?
  8. Bummer. So much for that idea ...
  9. Thx for all the tips and suggestions guys. My pin is staked on the bottom side (inside of slide). Do you drive it out from (outside) top down or bottom up? After reassembly is it necessary to stake the pin again on the inside?
  10. Hmmm, I'll have to look at my Dillon presses. I wasn't aware that you could adjust the punch.
  11. MemphisMechanic, How can you seat a primer any deeper than the bottom of the primer pocket allows???

    CZ Tuning

I’ve put thousands of rounds through my 9mm TSO with zero tuning except a swap to a lighter recoil spring (included with the pistol). The STOCK 14 ounce trigger is fantastic and the accuracy has been exceptional. I have large hands and long fingers and the gun fits me well. I don’t like the stock grip panels and found them slippery when my hands got sweaty so I swapped them out for LOC Bogie grips which are in a league of their own for traction and control. I recently bought a used Shadow 2 and don’t have as much time with it, yet. The grip is thinner and would fit a person with smaller hands much better than a TSO. My large hands feel cramped on it and the trigger reach is much shorter for me. Otherwise it’s a great shooting pistol and as accurate as the TSO. The previous owner only put a few hundred rounds through it and he swapped out the main and recoil springs for lighter ones. Other than that it’s had zero tuning and has run flawlessly. BTW, I am a Glock fan boy having shot them exclusively for well over a decade. CZs are certainly a step up in price but IMO are worth it. I also (owned) some very nice 2011’s too which I just couldn’t adapt to the grip angle change. I think the CZ grip angle is very close to Glocks and I had no trouble with the transition.
  13. I had three failures to extract empty cases last night from my 9mm TSO. The pistol is clean, lubed and the extractor is clean with no carbon build up on or around it. The case remained in the chamber and the slide returned to battery and or stripped another round and attempted to chamber it. This is the first time this has happened. Pistol has been very reliable up to this point. I’ve never removed the extractor to date. The spring doesn’t appear weak or broken. The extractor’s hook face isn’t bent, chipped or broken. I’ve not recently swapped out any recoil spring and the load has remain unchanged. Any ideas where to begin trouble shooting?
  14. No, you were not annoying and I’m glad I was able to help you in the limited amount of time you had. Best of luck Saturday. Please follow up and let us know how you did and how the mag pouches worked out for you.
  15. These were purchased for an Atlas 9mm Titan 2011, which is the same as a STI 2011 in Safariland’s drop down menu. I no longer have the pistol but the mag pouches fit my TSO and Czechmate 9mm mags just fine. I snugged the retention adjuster up just a tad but that’s it. I bought these from Midway USA BTW. If your wondering why I set up my mag pouch at a weird angle, check out Travis’ mag change...
  16. The games I play there are no sanctioning bodies or PF to meet. We just shoot bowling’s pins and falling steel. Shucks, 95 power factor knocks em over. I mostly shoot sub minor but occasionally I like to shoot major to see how flat I can make the pistol run.
  17. I’m working up loads for my CM, using cast lead, polyester coated: 95, 115 and 120 boolits. Lots more testing to do. So far, I’ve ran 400 rounds over my chrono with a lot more to go. I’m closing in on a few loads that deserve more evaluation.
  18. Shot my first test loads today using MP powder in my Czechmate. I really like how clean it burns, with no soot on my brass and the recoil impulse is much friendlier than WAC and HS6. I did notice a significant amount of granular powder residue on my arms and range bench. It resembles cornmeal. I don’t think it’s unburnt powder because it’s more golden in color. Can I assume this is normal for this powder?
  19. Yes. I have both on my belt and they fit fine. One is a tad shorter than the other.
  20. I use Safariland 771 and 773, 2011 mag pouches.

    Shadow 2

Yigal, Do you (or anyone else) run a buffer on your Czechmate?
  22. Have someone video you in slow mo then watch the muzzle as the slide goes into battery. If the muzzle dips or nose dives the spring is to heavy. If muzzle (sights or dot) finishes above POA then go lighter. Ideally you want a spring that will return sights exactly to POA.

    Shadow 2

I would suppose many people remove them because they think they “might fail” and render their pistol inoperable during a match. No one can predict when and if they fail, so removing the buffer just eliminates a possible failure mode.
