  1. Two things; both in reference to SP01. First one is a question; second is for conversation.

    1) when "made ready" hammer down for DA first shot but do you also need to activate the safety?

    2) If 90% of the time people are trying to do something with the safeties (larger, smaller, slimmer....) and don't use them in the first place. Why not make a version with out safeties?

  2. I took one of my 17s to a local machine shop; showed him a picture at a couple days later it was finished. Mine is more for front serrations then lighting but had great results and didn't have to send it off if you aren't local to a custom shop.

  3. . Not sure if this makes a difference, but I'm female.

It can depending on your build. "Comp Tach" makes a "Diva" (I didn't name it) holster which is designed to move the butt of the gun away from the body. A Blade Tech DOH may also produce this result. Also as stated it depends which division you are running. If you buy one of these they are legal from production-limited-open. Same can be said about the mag pouches; I run CR Speed mag pouches with a DOH for my SP01. Safariland makes some that extend a little away from the body.

    Happy hunting

  4. Looking for advice on a CZ for 3 gun. I'm leaning toward the SP01 Shadow Custom Target but not sure about sight radius since I'm getting older. I know most will go with the TS but not sure I like it. Anyone shoot 3 gun with SP01 Shadow?

Yup, I get 23+1 of 9mm in a 140mm magazine and it works great. I'm so used to the double action first shot I just run it as I would in production with more ammo.

Second that. Which mags and extensions are you using?

  5. I have run my SP01 for 3 gun for 4 years now, and IMO its perfect. I switched to open last year and had Matt Cheely open up the top of my slide, port the barrel and bury a delta point in the slide. It has been an amazing pistol for me.

Photo??? Sounds like a cool gun!

  6. After looking around at everything out there and calling to get a feel on customer service I think I am goin to go with Chris from Nitro Ear. Answered every question I had and sounds like he genuinely cares about his customers. I even sent him an email which he responded to AFTER HOURS!!

I'll post once I have the product in hand; or ear however you want to look at it.

    Thanks for the replies

  7. Here is my project gun..you know the one you try stuff out on.

Used to be a single action only gun, now its running the SRTS in it.

You can see how far back the trigger now sits in single action mode. There is virtually no room for take up on the trigger on this gun.

I am playing with the DA stroke. its running 4# right now, SA is running 2#.

Not sure I would recommend this, but wanted to see where the edge of failure is.

When you get it figured out ill send you mine for a retro. Really like the rear sight! Gives the gun a whole different look.

  8. Ear muffs just don't cut it all the time.

Ever try the cheap foamies and muffs? I sometimes do that.

A guy I shoot with, Dean Makkos, has electronic plugs that cost, IIRC, $800. I don't know if the company sponsors him or not. Dean told me Errol Lawson also uses them. They are small and hardly noticable when worn. Dean swears by them. His email is sales@docterusa.com.

Yes; I usually wear both. I have some really nice Peltors. I not a fan of complainers but....they are hot, sound too muffeled, push on the side of my glasses, fall off, inconsistent cheek weld...okay I'm finished.
