  1. Got out to shoot some mid range rifle to make sure my dope was correct. Shot 50-100yds with the rifle canted at 45 and 90 degrees, then from 200-600 from a barricade and prone. Strelok app was found to be spot on with chrono'd velocity and known BC of projectile entered into the app. Got a little pistol practice in after, from 10-100yards.
  2. Hotel room was booked a couple weeks ago for this match......but Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes in Decatur says it's too far out to make reservations in case anyone else had the same idea.
  3. It was my understanding that Mother Nature automatically scheduled rain when she noticed a 3-Gun math on the schedule.
  4. i prefer the modern day file......a dremel
  5. Not to mention.......most who have the silencers to use, had them before the PCC or want them regardless. Very few intelligent people are going to buy a pistol silencer and wait 3-9 months for a Form 4 to come back with an approval so that they can have a slightly better 9mm comp.
  6. I have several suppressors and LOVE them for shooting. When it comes to shooting matches tho, make sure the RO takes you to dinner before the match, because he will be uncomfortably close to you in order to get the shots to register on the timer. I considered therapy after the last time I shot with a silencer on the gun the last time at a match.
  7. There aren't a lot of gasses at work to make a comp usable without pushing lighter billets at higher speeds like an open pistol. I can't imagine a 9mm comp making as much difference as a rifle comp with minor power factor ammo.
  8. I don't think you're going to get a ton of suggestions in any forum......it's an area where you won't find much that will help you without having something obnoxious hanging off the side of your gun.
  9. Switch view on my scope occasionally works fine for that. Picking my gun off the table is where I might lose 1/4 of a second, so I don't worry about it most of the time.
  10. I have an Aimpoint T1 and Aimpoint M4s and love them both. For a go-to rifle where the battery never seems to die, there isn't much better available. For 3-gun competition, my astigmatism in my dominant eye makes the red dot irregular in shape and a little harder for long range targets. If you don't have an astigmatism, it would work great.
  11. Vortex 1x prism.....should be nice and clear, even with an astigmatism.
  12. I have Streamlight TLR1s, TLR-2GHL, TLR1, and 3 Crimson Trace light/laser combos. Lasers are definitely faster in night matches if you're allowed to have them....and they're fun!
  13. Seems a bit extreme to tag a company as copying for using similar materials. If that's the case, noone is allowed to use metal or plastics other than the first company to come out with caddies using those materials. I hope the first company to release a duty holster with a hood on it sues everyone else who offers a hooded retention holster now! Or maybe holster hangers, or mag tubes, or magazine basepads/extensions, or scope mounts that have a forward offset. I wonder how pissed Remington/Para are that Rock Island is building a double stack steel framed 1911. I can't imagine all the companies who are in trouble for copying the AR15....especially when it comes to triggers, bolt carriers, adjustable gas blocks, ambi controls, charging handles, and side charging uppers!
  14. Waitlisted.......ill be in the corner for getting to things late during lunch.
  15. After getting to handle them at Shot, I really like the Vortex prism 1x
  16. I've had gas leaks before, but nothing like that from only 1200rds. I use syrac gas blocks on my match rifles.
  17. Vortex sells a scope coat that sits on my scope when I'm not shooting stages. Keeps rain and dust off the lenses. If it's currently raining, I might lay it across the rear lense to cover it until I grab the gun.
  18. I would do an integral silencer/barrel on a pistol caliber or .22 that has lower pressure and use a design where I could tear it down to clean. I've never considered doing that with higher pressured rifle calibers tho. Integral silencers aren't quite the same as a simply welding a silencer to the end of a barrel either tho. You are correct as far as it being 16", but you already have the wait and $200 tax stamp for the silencer portion, so unless your state law does not allow for SBR's, I would pay the $200 for the SBR versus tac welding a can to the end of a short barrel.
  19. The Ramp mount has the rails, the X-Skel doesn't. I use the X-Skel and haven't used any of the Ramp mounts since I don't shoot open. Considered one for a long range rifle if I decided to put an offset dot on it.
  20. Warne X-Skel in FDE is what you're looking for.
  21. Something about that shirt screams "soon to be sleeveless". I like it
