  1. for our club we do this.... set up pre-registration days before the match. usually, match registration closes around 10pm the night before the match. If I'm still up, I'll get match registration using the PIN#, if not, I'll just grab it in the morning before heading out to the match. Once at the match, we open registration. If anyone is there to shoot that hasn't pre-registered, we add them to the master tablet. Build the stages on the master tablet if I don't do it the night before. Sort out squads and drop/delete no-shows. During the stage walk-throughs, I'll sync all the tablets off the master, then hand them out to the squad RO's. After the match, the squad RO's turn in their scoring tablets and I'll sync them back to the master. Offer up scores to anyone that has the practiscore app. Post results to practiscore and also email results to our list of shooters. Done. If we need to add a shooter that shows up late, usually they'll come to my squad and I'll just add them to my scoring tablet as a regular shooter. ( just back out to enter/edit shooters and add new shooter). Haven't had any issues since using this method. There was a small learning curve for our shooters using the nooks, but after a few matches, almost everyone's had a chance to enter scores and get used to using them. Even the "more distinguished" gentlemen have come around to the new technology.
  2. well...except for that one guy from Tennessee....lol I also started with IDPA. We've amassed such an awesome group of guys that usually we'll get together and decide what division we're gonna shoot and the winner gets lunch. Sadly, I've bought more lunches than I'd like to remember.... I shot last match with my CCP carry gun in an IWB holster. A few months ago, a buddy had a sweet Dan Wesson 1911 and he let me borrow it so I shot a match with that. Got lots of guys willing to let me use a wheel-gun, but I haven't used one in competition, yet. Shoot it for what it is. Shooting with buddies! Any gun time is good time, right?
  3. Keep in mind, when you're at slide lock in IDPA, you're only stuffing a mag with 10 rounds in there. I could see the issue with a full 20 rounds just dying to escape the confines of that tube with the compressed spring, but with only 10, it shouldn't be an issue.

    SP baseplates

They are well worth the money. I had a half dozen of 'em on my XDM. Haven't used them for the CZ platform yet, but going on past experience, you won't find a better product.
  5. You'd be surprised how good the shadow trigger is in it's stock configuration. Give it a shot before spending money on it.
  6. 18-19 at first, then, once they break in, you can get 20 with a loader. There's a site with a vid and the guy gets 20 by hand. He uses a combination of tapping the mag on the rear every few rounds and popping it down on the table while pushing down on the top round, helping inertia cram them all down the tube.
  7. I originally ordered the Dawson serrated rear and FO front for my P01 to go along with that same set of sights I have on my full size SP01. I ended up not using them, since I've been shooting the P01 with the stock 3 dot sights in IDPA and having a blast doing it! OldFrank is correct in that these are very sharp and would need some filing to be used for carry. As for holsters, I make my own so I bounce back and forth between an OWB and IWB for IDPA. I must say, this gun is an absolute blast to shoot in IDPA. My SP01 has been getting neglected since I picked up this little guy!
  8. I've shot it clean at about 3' but the powder burns made scoring difficult! Just kiddin'. I usually attempt it at 7yards.
  9. I'm sure someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that if you were classified in division already, you couldn't be more than one ranking lower in all the other divisions. So if you've classified as Expert in SSP, that automatically classifies you as SS in all the other divisions. Again, going off memory here....
  10. I've shot mine in about 4 IDPA matches in CCP. Won a few matches overall and came in 2nd and 3rd in the other two. First shot DA wasn't an issue with the Cajun Gun Works parts. SA shots felt just like my tuned SP-01 with all it's Cajun goodies. I didn't think I was going to like the night sights and had a set of competition sight (FO front and black serrated rear) on order, but after the first match, it was a non-issue. I've also shot it in SSP with the 10 rounds instead of the 8 but it's really no big difference. Just a reload in a different spot per stage. The gun has been 100% reliable and it's also my carry gun so it's nice to shoot it in a few matches now and then.
  11. stay in Limited until you're tired of me beating you. Then move to Open. You can't hide in Production, 'cause I have one of those, too! lol
  12. I want a patch on the back that says, "Effin' Gamer!" But honestly, if you were to make one from scratch... Heavy material, so it'll stay open when you clear it and not get tangled up in your gun/hand/ponytail. Vents....EVERYWHERE! I'd do the entire back in mesh. It hits over 100 degrees down here and we need all the airflow we can get. Don't go overboard with all the cargo style pockets. I've used my vest for over a year and I still have yet to put a single item in any of the pockets. Make sure you give ample room in the armpit area. Don't want anything chafing or rubbing there. Wide material on the shoulder area. This will help spread the load of the vest. Mine has adjustable straps in the waist area, but again, they've never been used or adjusted.

    Fobus holster

I've seen problems with the front sight digging into the small sight channel on these.... So many better choices out there.
  14. Finally got around to shooting this drill....I've only shot IDPA for a few years and just barely made ESP expert last classifier (last month) so not sure if my times are up to par with other experts or if I'm still in SS or worse, MM territory!lol I ran the drill 8 times. First 4 are from left to right, last 4 were right to left. String 1-4.75 with 0.5 added String 2-5.08 with 1.5 added String 3-4.76 with 2.5 added String 4-5.72 with 2.5 added String 5-5.20 with 0 added (finally!) String 6-5.53 with 2.0 added String 7-5.24 with 1.5 added String 8-5.46 with 1.5 added Think that comes to a 6.72 average. My first shots were anywhere from 1.27 to 1.48. Most were in the 1.40's. Might be ready for pt 2
  15. well I've sent off a letter to IDPA to see what they come up with. I thought I could shoot it in ESP as long as the gun meets the SSP criteria when you buy it. I added the magwell since I had no plans of shooting in SSP. Can I just gring off an inch of the damn dust cover?lol
  16. well f*ck. Not what I wanted to hear after dropping a few hundred on a magwell and basepads.... Thanks for the info, guys.
  17. tried searching but just kept getting more confused...can you play in the ESP class of IDPA with a SP01 with the magwell and basepads that all fit in the IDPA box? I keep hearing that the gun, since it has the full lenght dust cover, must conform to SSP rules to be allowed to shoot in ESP. Fine, I'd rather shoot single action the entire string anyway, but is the magwell allowed? Love the way this thing shoots so would hate to not be able to shoot it. And before you chime in with, "just shoot USPSA and be done with it!" I'm limited as to what matches are available in our area. But since I brought it up, what division would my SP01 with magwell be in? Thanks guys! John.
  18. not sure if you mentioned it before, but are you running the stock trigger in the XDM? I had one with the PRP trigger and another with the springer trigger. Both were huge improvements over the stock trigger.
  19. Just wanted to make sure I did this correctly.... Removed the old mainspring, put on the new mainspring plug with the little pin sticking out the bottom, did NOT put the mainspring pin back in, slid on the magwell from the rear, depressed the mainspring plug up into the gun in order to finish sliding the magwell on. Then, the mainspring plug "clicked" down into the hole in the magwell. Is that it? There was no way I could find to slide the magwell past the mainspring plug with the mainspring pin installed. Just wouldn't go up far enough! Everything seems to work correctly without the mainspring pin in there. No way for the plug to come out with that magwell on there! Thanks for any help, guys. Now...on to type "mainspring" just one more time...
  20. How far North and how far West in Florida are ya?
  21. thanks for the info! My buddy just got a 3.8" XDM so we're gonna play around with the parts.
  22. since you're in P'cola, you'll be shooting with us at the ERGC range? If so, welcome! Be nice to me, I'll probably be scoring you!lol Pretty relaxed group of guys out here. Jokes are always getting tossed around new ones are always welcome! I'll be the middle-aged guy with the gun. Should be easy to pick me out of the crowd.....
