  1. Jim, Thanks again to you and Dale and all the staff for a great match. Here's hoping you guys do decide to jump into the barrel for another go at it. I was pleased to see that there is at least ONE benefit to getting more "senior" Where do I need to send the FFL to ,to claim my prize? Sorry if I missed that info. Blown away by the quality of the match. Jim Shema
  2. Unfortunely for me, i DID forget something. It was a great match, though. Very professionally run, fun stages and the water wagon was there when you needed it. Which was always on friday.
  3. So sorry for your loss. Scout can play in that big dog park with our Greta, Turner, Milo ,Elsa ,Clara and Meg. Hope we"re good enough to join them someday.
  4. TGR said it was Randy Hollowbush. http://nssfmarketplace.com/company.php?id=118825&company=Handgunner+Custom+Gunshop,+Inc. E-mailed him a few days ago. still waiting for a response.
  5. Thanks for the info. Looks like a table at each position will do it. Haven't had any luck finding a holster for a c-more sighted m41.
  6. I've not had the pleasure of shooting a regular SC match. How do you guys carry to the line? Holstered or in a gun rug. Trying to get a handle on procedures for our local club matches. Thanks
  7. I don't know, but I'd like one too! The more I look at the gun the more I think it has to connect to either the grips or the screws that hold the grips on. Although I do see the screw on the side of the well. Adam so,has anyone discovered who makes the magwell?
  8. is Jack Reacher the author or a series character? If a character, who is the author , please
  9. Medicare covers the procedure for monofocal lense implants. The multifocal lenses were $1400 extra each eye. Best money I ever spent. It is such a pleasure to be rid of those damn bifocals.
  10. Monday I had my second eye done with the Restor multifocal replacement lense. I can see the computer screen WITH NO GLASSES.I can see my fingerprints WITH NO GLASSES. I can see the serattions on my sights WITH NO GLASSES.I can focus on the target AND the sights WITH NO GLASSES. I can read WITH NO GLASSES.Now if I can get a few other body parts replaced on this 66 YO bod, I could kick some 20 YO a**. Well, maybe!
  11. Before we retired in '06, I charged $25 for a transfer, new or used. Most of my transfers were used , since I tried to keep my prices competitive enough that when the buyer factored in transfer fees AND shipping costs on a new gun, it came out pretty close. I did pick up a lot of loyal customers for guns and accessories with that policy.
  12. I remember Walter well from Second Chance. He was a very nice guy and an original character as he answered a whole lot of Richard davis's trivia questions. Sorry for your loss, John.
  13. Where's ALGORE when you need him?
  14. Bob has got to be the "dillon" of moonclip holders. Through my own stupidity, i broke off one of the posts. I e-mailed him to ask the price of a replacement kydex. He replied "send it back and I will take care of it". I did and he turned it around in less than a week. No charge, not even for return shipping!!! Thanks Bob, If I ever run into you at a match, beers on me.
  15. Winter sucks. If I had mega bucks, I'd be in some gun friendly South American country( if I could find one) about now. Well, maybe after deer season. That would be like late May here.
  16. Did'nt see any squad schedule for the friday shooters. Please post or have available at the range. Thanks, Jim
  17. I know it's hard and I've been there more times than I could wish. Meg, our first, A yellow lab, the soul of a hunter, at 14. Elsa, yellow lab, a gentle giant at 95 # and no fat, At 15. Clara, yellow lab, A little sweetie at 55#, at 14. Turner, A black lab mix from the shelter, named so since he was returned once to the shelter, at 5 from a heart attack. Milo, as best we could tell, a min pin mix, ran up to my wife in a restaurant parking lot and laid on her feet. He stayed with us and was the terror of the robins and rabbits in the back yard, he was approx 15 when he went. Please consider another friend when the time is right for you. We now have Elsa, yellow lab, coming on 10, another gentle giant. Roscoe, black lab mix with a bottle brush tail at 5 and Hannah, yellow lab and a real hotshot in training at 1 year on memorial day. None can ever "replace" another in fact or memory.Thank God, they live in the moment, And sometimes we can too. All the best in the future. Jim
  18. We had an incident at a local trap/skeet range a few years back. The shooter was dropping his hammers on "snap caps" that weren't. His buddy got a 20 ga. skeet load in the butt. Luckily it wasn't life threatening for the target.
  19. Cy, so sorry for your loss. It hurts enough to say goodby to a pet after a long life. It must be doubly hard to lose one so young.
  20. I remember Mark from Second Chance. Don't remember him without a smile on his face, and a fistful of speedbrushes. Godspeed good man.
  21. Bart, no I didn't. That is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for the help, Jim
  22. Does anyone make 1911 style grips for the 41? Did a search and came up dry. GMan mentions a new set of Herrets. I checked Herrets website but it showed the last update in 2001. I guess I'm looking to replicate the feel of a flat MS housing 1911 with no thumbrest. Thanks, Jim
  23. Thanks, Jim. And thanks to Springfield Armory for thier support of the match.Jim Shema
  24. I like the Dillon size dies for all the above and for a reason not yet mentioned. The carbide sizer is radiused at the mouth. This gives a funnel effect that prevents having to hand guide the cases into the die. I started loading 38's with a RCBS sizer and had to do that on about half the cases. Not a problem on a single stage but a big PIA on a progressive.
  25. I have a DPMS 18" with a michulik brake that I am very happy with. Runs great and will shoot sub minute with the right ammo. Put in a Jard trigger and good to go.
