  1. +1 on that. I tried it today. offhand first. Shot 4 relatively well aimed rounds at 100 & 200 then hosed 2 at 300. Made the reload once for 2 more rounds. I averaged 3 hits per run. I then went prone and averaged 5 hits per run. About 8 attempts each. So, looks like 2 prone and one kneeling stages. Kind of defeats the purpose I think.
  2. Bumper, How do you do that? Mine runs about 3 times to fast. Was going to send back to Dillon, but if there is a fix, i would prefer that. Thanks, Jim
  3. Ah me, I can remember when it WAS a match. But that was pre-'95.
  4. just got my mount and it is slicker than the proverbial snot on a doorknob. ps, pinshooter, did you ever make Second Chance?
  5. Kurt, when you are shooting at shot targets, do you focus on the target or the sights? thanks.
  6. Thanks for your reasoned, informative , helpful post. That's what I thought this forum was all about. Apparently , some don't see it that way.
  7. I've looked real hard at the trap, skeet, sporting clay and doubles shooters. They got to be using really tiny sights on their SG's cause I can't see them. But what the hell., they only shoot at MOVING targets. You boys kill a lot of birds in the season?
  8. I had one of the CZ units and also a Ceiner conversion. Neither would work with the JP trigger/lo mass hammer. Light firing pin strikes. Anyone know of one that will work with this setup?
  9. I have a 3' fiber optic on my rib. I cover it over with electricians tape on non slug stages so it doesn't catch my eye. You want to focus on the target with shot loads, not the sight. If your gun fits , it hits where you look. for slugs, take off the tape.
  10. Just did a check on cost with UPS. Would have cost me $23.82 guaranteed 4 day delivery.
  11. Typing when you're mad will do that. But I'l be reel kerful fum now on. I called the PO at 8 am. said they would check and get back to me. I called back at 11am after no callback. They said it takes from 7 to 14 days( no apology for not returning my call). I said "but when I shipped the counter guy said 5 to 7 days" She says "thats what our computer says but we know from CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS it averages 7 to 14 , if its not there by then, call back and we will TRY to find it But what the hell, it only cost me $27.53.
  12. I shipped a long gun to Oregon from Indiana on 7-28. It is now 8-7. 10 FREAKING days and the reciever calls and says it's not there yet.WTF!!!!!! He is not happy and I Sure As Hell am not. the guy at the post office said 5 to 7 days max. Yes it's Insured and yes i'l call in the morning to find out where in the known universe it might be, BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO ??????? You don't have to work to the post office to want to go POSTAL
  13. Just beware of the old farts in beige Buicks. Especially the ones with handicaped plates. If it can be done wrong, It will be.
  14. Did the bend & polish mod. It now loads great. bent it a little to much the first time , though. Thought I had my old Browning speed feed back. Thanks all for the help. Jim
  15. Thanks STInky. That looks like the answer. This forum is great. Jim
  16. I just got a new m2 field . I did a search on shell(or carrier per benelli) latch and found nothing. Mine takes a power grunt to get a shell past the latch into the tube. I pulled the trigger group and by manually depressing the latch, saw that a lot less engagement was needed to hold a shell in the tube. Anyone know the correct way to modity a stock latch? thanks, Jim
  17. I've seen these advertised and it looks like an inexpensive way to practice. Anyone have any experiance with them?
  18. I did a search and came up dry. anyone know of a source. S&W revolver of course. Thanks
  19. Jamie, Glad you are feeling better. We have not met, but I appreciated your help on the Browning Gold stock thing. You are one of the many good people on this forum. p.s. I got a Benelli, adjusted the stock and my slugs now go where I look.
  20. Anybody catch that new show on the military channel. The segment on the 6 bbl 'mini gun" was hilarious. The host goes on and on about the gun, while showing footage of him shooting one out of a helo "somewhere in the southwest" He then says there is only one factory in the country making them, but he can't say where for "security reasons'. We then see an interview of the factory owner, back view only, who the host says can only be identified as "Mr. Smith". Maybe I'm a little slow but Mike Dillon sounds like Mike Dillon from the front or back. As the camera pans the factory, there's a big blue 'Dillon Precision" banner hanging on a wall. the casefeed assemblys kinda looked familier also. This guy apparently has never seen a Dillon Aero calender. But don't tell anyone.
  21. Haven't shot another, but mounted the identicle gun, 24" turkey bbl. same sight picture. This thing throws slugs about 8" high at 30 yds and center of shot pattern is about as high. I like the gun, but if I can't fix this problem it will be looking for a new home. Too bad since it runs great, but i'm too simple minded to remember to hold low.
  22. Alamo, the stock is way to high in the comb. It's like looking down a trap stock for me. I want point of hold to be point of impact like it is on my 1100 and M12 field guns. I don't want to have to hold under a target to center it in the pattern, way too slow.
  23. Triggerbender, thanks, but that won't work on this one. the action tube contacts the top of the stock tube alowing only about 1/8 " more drop at the heel. I'm afraid to cut through the stock tube since it's not very thick. I would have to cut a channel approx. halfway down to get enough clearance for the action tube to get enough drop.
  24. I have a browning gold hunter with synthetic forniture. Does anyone make an aftermarket stock with more drop, or a method to get more drop? I checked with Browning and they do make spacers, but they will not work with synthetic stocks. I did a search and came up with the spacers, but that's not going to help as I want to stay with synthetic.
