  1. Also... my first CZ. I since then have picked up a standard SP-01 and worked it over myself. WIth much help from a Kung Fu Panda from CZC. I would also consider looking there, Customer service is fantastic. Walked me through everything. Although, I hear CZC, CGW and AA all have great customer service. Sights, trigger, disco, hammer, pins, you can do it all yourself. There are plenty of resources. Can't go wrong with a CZ
  2. If he replies to everyone... and ya'll ask half as any questions as I do... How does he have the time... multitasking master
  3. Well, I ordered up a pistol last week, it showed up in time for me to sign paperwork and wait another 48 hours... I had ordered a bunch of a parts to "drop in" (should have had the pro do it) but I was impatient. Had to fit some parts. Any questions I had, CZC took care of me. Now I will just need to throw my sights on... and I'll be good to go!
  4. Just got in touch with Stu from CZC (sorry for the name drop) Picked some mags up back in the day for my sp-01 tactical. SInce then, decided I do not need a decocker. Anyways: Had a couple questions... and got me all set up. I was going back and fourth reading topic after topic on the debate between shadow and standard sp-01 and then upgrades... Waiting... I can do it. Just don't like to all the time. I could have gotten an upgraded shadow sp01 in 6-8 weeks. SO, instead, I got all the parts I think I want, and a standard SP-01. Should be here Tuesday. and hopefully dirty by the fourth! Hammer, springs, trigger, sights etc. Still production legal. Don't get me wrong, I know that just because I am dropping these into the gun, it won't be great, or not as great as if a pro tuned it up... But it will be more to my liking. I did make a couple shoutouts to some other shops, made some initial communication with them, and have not heard from them in the past week. Stu at CZC was great with communication all the way. Probably why I ordered this up in 48 hours. Customer service is one of the things that drives me towards vendors. It wasn't just about making a sale, but helping me out; getting me what I wanted. I will definitely recommend CZC.
  5. Glad I found this thread, been looking at getting some different springs. Maybe I should just get the kit...

I just contacted someone at czc looking for a shadow. But decided to go with a standard sp01 and get it tuned up. I had a tactical with a race hammer, sights, and it shot great I can only anticipate what this new one will be like with the extra internals.
  7. I looked a few nights ago and found an sp01 for sale, went to order in the morning and it was gone. It's ok. I think I found a replacement. With the work I was going to do to it, i figured I should just get a shadow.
  8. Nice, I just shot my first couple matches last year. Unclassified. Single stack, it was fun, challenging incorporating all the reloads into stage planning
  9. I have used motor oil, works well. FP-10 is what I have now, have used rem oil too and MP7 I run it pretty wet, don't have too much build up either. I hear good things about frog lube and have always wanted to try it, never have, also have heard gunzilla is some good stuff.
  10. I have a FF3 on mine, I have also used large 50mm red dots, I like how low it is to the barrel, for me I prefer to shoot that way. I also had my barrel threaded and put a lenang comp on. It started off as a 22/45 mk3 Converted to mk2 and did some other internal mods.
  11. I have shot both ways, i can say I am a touch more stable with infront of the guard, but normally when I address the pistol, i don't do that. Recently I have been shooting a lot more left handed, so I might try to throw some time into this technique as well.
  12. Got the Mags! Great condition, fast shippipng, awesome guy to deal with.

  13. I recently shot my first local uspsa event in SS. Smaller turn out so my squad was pretty relaxed. The RSO's were great in helping me out. It was a blast. I did however kept having mag failures despite my brushing out abilities... I had some 230gr plated RDN with some bullseye behind it. I shot plenty of alphas, it felt soft too. But I heard many people say they were using clays.
  14. Got the mag pouches. Very fast shipping, kept me informed on some address problems, would definately do business with.

      Glad they made it.

  15. That is a pretty cool idea with the sights. There is an 1100 in the Classifieds that I am looking at purchasing instead of building mine up to exactly how I want it. The one I am building is a 26 inch, vs the 28 in the ads. Do you guys have length preference? It also has an optic, and 14rd loaded capacity. Would changing this open gun to tactical only be removing the optic and using open sight?
  16. How much did it cost ya'll to have your ELS set up the way you wanted?
  17. That is exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks! Where did you order from? I'm looking at having to get a bunch of parts individually. Is there a spot where you can order the whole rig?
  18. So I am getting into 3G and looking at getting a belt. Alot of people are suggesting the ELS and am leaning in that direction. What my question is, is I wear a 30'' belt right now. The inner belt I would get to be a 30... Are your outer-belts longer? Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I am new to the gun games, and hope to at least stop out and see how things are run. Find out about some of the equipment I will need, etc. For the most part, I feel like I have it all for SS.
  20. I love my benelli shotguns, don't get me wrong, I even debated doing up my montefeltro. And I am sure at one point in time I will set a benelli up for this, but for some reason, I really like my 1100. GeoffB: glad to hear you like the traditional. I am thinking more and more about leaving the wood on the gun. How far have you had to take shots with a slug? I have heard that 1100's will have issues if you are using the bulk pack cheap ammo, but I reload for shotshells and might start slugs soon. The shotshells have enough juice to make it run.
  21. Ah yes, bolt handle is already a larger one. The match saver looks handy, I might have to get one. It is one of my local smith's personal shotguns. He'll be doing all the work, I'm confident as he has done a great job on many of my other toys.
  22. First off, let me say I am pretty fresh to the website, I joined when I drank the blue koolaid, and did not do a lot of exploring. I have recently become more interested in the "gun games" and noticed this was the place to find lots of info on that. So I am debating building up my Rem 1100 factory 26in imp cyl. Already ext to 10rd. but I have some questions and would like some opinions. I have an m2 and an m4, but decided I want to build this one up first. So please, no "use the benelli's" Honestly I like the wood on the gun, and am debating keeping it on. Have many of you shot both with pistol gripped shotguns and normal stocks and have a preference? Furniture would not be a problem for me to add. How do you like your shotguns set up? Ghost ring rear and green FO front is what I have planned, it is at a single bead now. I notice many people using speed chutes, but I think I am going to just use the extended carrier release bar. I am also ceracoating this blackened bronze and putting a burnt bronze strip down the top of the barrel the width of my front sight ramp for a personal touch. What are some of the other goodies people like?
  23. I can't say I have used them in uspsa, but steel and bowling pins... (looking at going to my first USPSA Saturday) but I'm using a 160 grain using a 12 lb recoil spring. I also have some 230 using the 18lb spring. The 160 is a bunny fart load. But very accurate. I don't think it is at major power factor though. lead seem to have a "softer" recoil to me. They are cheaper to shoot... it is another fun part of the hobby casting your own. And is safe if you don't cast in closed area. Loading not a problem, wash hands in cold water after. Just have it stored securely if you are worried of kids. Some say they are not as accurate... but if you see my ransom rest groups. You might think otherwise too. If you are worried about leading in your barrel... at the end of the shooting session, run a few plated/jacketed bullets. It'll blow most of the leading out, my trp barrel is very clean with great rifling still despite shooting 1000's of lead rounds.
  24. I seem to be having the same issues at my local spot. It is great that it is open most every day of the month, however that is slowing down. I feel lots of people that have wanted to step up, have been shot down from some of the stubborn older generation. I understand where they are coming from, because they have put a lot of work into making the range what it is now. But there is a need for changing some things up to give it a spark. I think if it got that spark we'd have 5-10 fold the interest out there. Wish you luck, I just started getting some steel to our range, and another a better bowling pin set up. So hopefully ours works out too.
  25. The 115 factory do fine for the bowling pins as well as the steel, Probably going to be trying out some lead SWC for the paper punching, but will stick with jacketed or plated for the steel.
