  1. Dean a special thanks to you and your entire staff for putting on a great event. I know our team will be back next year for sure and we are hoping to bring a few others with us. I think this is going to be our must attend major for years to come as the team format was something that we had not experienced before. Be sure to get the thread posted on here for next years match with the date a.s.a.p. Also a special thanks to Armalite for being the title sponsor and Trijicon for sponsoring the great breakfast at the firehouse. Everyone make sure to thank all of the sponsors that helped make up that great prize table also.
  2. Can anyone recommend any good hotels somewhat close to the match?
  3. Because after 5 years of having this match no one at Rockcastle has grasped the concept of keeping the shooters informed. If we are lucky they will update the website the week before the match. I feel as if Gary Welborn and I have worked hard to make sure people have updated information. And your comment is misinformed. The Rock3Gun website was set up by a volunteer several years ago. That volunteer has that domain & the passwords to upload or update content. The owners of Rockcastle cannot do that. I cannot do that. To assume that they don't "grasp the concept," or don't want it updated, is wrong. Linda my comments were not to you, Gary or any of the Range Officers and staff that have done an OUTSTANDING JOB for making every Pro/Am a success! You have always done a great job keeping all of us shooters informed and I honestly don't know how this match would run without you. That being said as others have stated there is no reason Rockcastle could not buy a domain name for probably less than $50.00 and put all of the information up for the shooters to see. I do not believe this is the first time that anyone has had complaints about communication for this match. Thanks again for all that Linda, Gary and all of the Range Officers do for us lowly shooters to have fun once a year.

  5. Any chance you would consider making another special tool as I have the same problem? That is my only complaint so far.
  6. Unless you're going to shoot 9 major, a comp doesn't work that well on minor power factor (if at all) I haven't used the factory ported model, but had my Core Magnaported and it works well. I have a non Core that is my 9Major gun to go along with my ported 9Minor gun. Very nice pistols! Are you running the Taylor Freelance magazine extensions? I cant find anyone else that makes 170mm extensions. Also what magwell are you running? I have saw a few of the SSS and am wondering if the brass ones are worth the money for the added weight?
  7. I just picked up a ported CORE 9L for Open division in 3 gun. I have a few questions for those that are using this gun for Open Divison. 1. Has anyone done anything to improve the stock trigger or should I just install the APEX flat trigger? 2. What magazine wells are you using? 3. What 170mm magazine extensions are you using? It seems like Taylor Freelance is one of the only ones available. 4. Does anyone make precut grip tape for this pistol? Thanks in advance for all of your answers.
  8. For those of you who do not know we have a multigun match a few times a year at our club. Tentative dates for this year are April 4th, May 9th, June 6th, July 11th, Sept 19th and Oct 10th. The matches are held at the U.C.O.A. club in Findlay, OH located at 6943 Twp Rd 243. The matches start at 12:00 p.m. and setup starts at 8 a.m. Chamber flags are required for all long guns. If you do not have them they will be available for $1.00 each. The match will consist of multigun stages consisting of rifle/shotgun, shotgun/pistol or pistol/rifle. NO STEEL CORE AMMO IS ALLOWED. Due to a shortage of ammo be sure to take advantage of our rim-fire caliber pistol and rifle division. This is a great chance for shooters to become more familiar with all of their weapons and put them into realistic scenarios. The maximum round count for the matches is 150 rounds rifle, 100 rounds pistol 40 rounds birdshot and 10 slugs. These are maximum numbers for estimated round counts for the matches. New shooters should arrive by 11:30 for a safety overview. We will be using the 100 yd range for the rifle stage every match this year. Anyone that has questions can feel free to email paul.ruhland@ucoa-findlay.com There are divisions for shooters as most 3-gun matches have them. A note on the divisions your division will be determined by the equipment you are using. When you register online for the match you will be asked to note what class that puts you in. This will not effect who you shoot with. It is simply used in the scoring to group shooters together by classification so scores can be compared more easily to the division you are actually competing against. This is all done in the spirit of more even friendly competition. I would also like to have everyone bring a rifle, pistol and shotgun to use for the matches. In the past we have allowed people who don’t have shotguns to use their pistols, however this will not be the case this year as some shotgun stages will not be able to be shot with your pistol. We are doing this in an attempt to design shotgun stages that are fun , challenging and specific to the shotgun platform. Our plan is also to offer a number of true 3 gun stages which will obviously require the use of shotgun. This is not done in an effort to exclude shooters who are without a shotgun but rather to improve the quality of the stages and the level of competition at the match. DO NOT let the lack of a shotgun stop you from coming out to shoot. 3 gun is a great sport and if you are interested in giving it a try I guarantee you will not be disappointed. If you do not have a shotgun I am sure I have a spare or another shooter will let you borrow theirs so bring some 12Ga. Birdshot and some slugs with you or just know that you may not be able to shoot some stages. There has been a core group of individuals who have been helping for the last 6 years and we need to add to that group for our setup and tear-down crew so for 2015 the shooters will dictate our matches. I need at least 5 people to volunteer for the setup and tear-down for every match by the Sunday before each match. If I cannot find at least 5 people the match for that month the match will be cancelled. For the matches to continue into the future we will need some people to help with by volunteering to be Range Officers for the matches. If you are interested in being a range officer we would provide you with a training class. Range Officers are the people that run everyone through the stages in a safe manner. We will need at least 5 Range Officers every match. The more Range Officers we have will allow us to rotate them throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a range officer or in helping to setup the match please email me back a.s.a.p. All of our matches require pre-registration and if you want to shoot our match you will need to visit our website to register. The website is located @ www.ucoa3gun.com You will need to register for the match by clicking on the schedule and registration tab. We are limiting the matches to 50 shooters so we can move along quickly and allow the match to run smoother for everyone. Please try to register for the matches as early as you can to ensure you will have a spot in the match. The cost of the matches for 2015 will be $30.00 per shooter. If you setup and tear down you shoot for free. This will be limited to the first 5 shooters that sign up on the forum Monday after the match. All shooters will pay $30.00 at the beginning of the match. If you helped setup and tear down after everything is put away I will refund your $30.00. Also new this year a special thanks goes out to Matt Smith for creating our new website and forum. Please check it out at http://www.ucoa3gun.com all of the information about our matches is available on this site. The site also has pictures and videos of previous matches along with rules and results from all of the matches will be posted on this site. The forum which is very easy to register for will be a great place for shooters of our matches to get together and discuss any issues about the matches. New for 2015 U.C.O.A. Multigun is pleased to announce that we will be a member of the 3 Gun Nation Club Series. Anyone that is interested may become a 3 Gun Nation member at http://www.3gunnation.com Once you are a member you will be able to gauge your skills shooting against people from around the world. Every time you shoot a 3 Gun Nation qualifier your scores will be submitted and logged on the 3 Gun Nation website. Each of the first 100 clubs to join the club series has the opportunity to earn a prize for their club. Every time you shoot a 3 Gun Nation Club series match you earn an entry for the prize. YOU DO NOT NEED TO JOIN 3GUN NATION TO SHOOT OUR MATCHES. We will also be utilizing electronic scoring this year. We will be going back to a squad based match for this year also. As much as everyone loved the state match style it was not working for the RO's. If you have not been to the club in a while you have not seen all of the work that has been done by the U.C.O.A. club on all of the old bays. We have widened and lengthened the bays and have also added additional bays. Feel free to email me back with any questions at paul.ruhland@ucoa-findlay.com.
  9. So has everyone who is in received their emails? If so I guess I am on the wait list.
  10. It's random draw for prizes for the AM match so I don't think anyone will care Jesse.
  11. U.C.O.A. Multigun is the outlaw 3 gun club that I started back in 2009.
  12. Wait a minute, people use 3 gun carts for baby strollers?
  13. I learned that we should all be versed in a basic first aid class and have some basic first aid supplies on hand. After watching a RO take a ricochet hit off a steel target I am glad that I always have a blow out kit with me at matches. Nothing worse than watching people running around yelling "Does anyone have gloves?"
  14. Sounds to me like the MD needs to rethink some of his layouts on the stages. I tend to go with safety first on all steel targets when I set my matches up. Sometimes targets need to be moved for the safety of all.I don't ever want to relive seeing a RO take a ricochet from a steel target last year at one of the matches I was shooting.
  15. I have been shooting mine since July and have had zero issues with it. CDNN Sports had a killer deal on these at 799.00 after the $100 mail in rebate. I have only used the stock magazines that came with the guns and the extras that I purchased directly from the Para Pro Shop. The site says that is currently being changed and is not currently available to purchase magazines. In my opinion this gun is a great shooting accurate handgun that also is a great value. I cannot see spending almost 1-1.5 times what I spent on mine for a STI or other custom 2011 style pistol.
  16. The prize table has changed at least 2 times in the last 3 years that I have shot this match. The first year it was a random draw for both open and tac optics with the first place shooters in each division going to the prize tables first. The second year there were separate prize tables for open and tac optics. This year it was everyone grouped back together again with a total random draw for the prize tables. I love the idea about releasing the prize table order in advance. They sure did seem to act like it was becoming a bother towards the end of the prize table. All night everyone was going up to the table and slowly rifling through and checking out the prizes in the piles. I know it takes a long time for 247 people to make it through the prize table however, it would be easier to see the gift certificates if they were not covered by stickers or other small items.Literally 3 names before mine was called they announced that if you touched a prize it was yours. The announcement was right after they had called around 200 people and did not seem fair to those who had been standing around for hours waiting to pick their prizes. Special thanks to all of the Linda, the RO's and everyone else that helped put the match on. God know they do not get the thanks they deserve for all of their hard work. Rockcastle needs to work on their communication skills for all shooters i.e. their website, facebook page or even posting information here for all of the shooters. I tried multiple times to get information for the pro/am and the rimfire match with no success. The website had last years stages up until a few days before the match. One would think that this being their 4th year putting on this match that it would run more smoothly. Seems that a lot of the sponsors that have been represented for the past few years are no longer sponsoring this match (LaRue Tactical, MGM Targets, Bushmaster, Mossberg and Surefire are just a few that come to mind). The NRA shooters bags we received the fast few years were missed by our group this year. Hopefully they can make this match bigger and better next year. It would be nice to see some improvements made to the facility especially some of the areas in cowboy town that have rotten wood or missing wood. Some of the steel targets could use some work too. Why didn't MGM show up this year with their great steel targets?
  17. I will be there shooting and helping RO. Rick and John put on a great match and I have been looking forward to shooting this match.
  18. Can I get some specs on your 140mm mag? What floor-plate, follower and spring are you using?
  19. I do not believe that they will have pre-printed books for the match. You will have to check page 16 for the stages as this is the only place I could find them. I believe they usually load the website with stages right before the match and most just download them to their cellphones.
