Thanks for the input guys. I didn't consider that route. Would an add on rail still be holster "friendly"? I've seen some instances where the rails look like they sit lower.

Hi everyone. I'm looking to do a semi-build on a 9mm STI Spartan 4. Im wanting to replace the frame with a railed frame for light attachment (i.e. Caspian Recon frame). My question is.... 1. Is it worth the cost or should I just venture the route of a factory railed 1911? I plan using as many of the factory STI parts as I can unless I run into a fitting issue. Any knowledge or wisdom would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has any better suggestions or prior knowledge of a better path to take, please let me know before I dive into this one. Thanks

Anopsis I talked to Jon at your shop the past couple of days and we finally made a deal. It was a little more of a hassle since I live in georgia and wanted to trade. But a few 5 pictures and a couple emails later, we got it done. The only issue I had was that he kept telling about all these upgrades it has done to it but he couldn't tell me what they were. As in he didn't know what they were. Could you by any chance tell what had been done to it aside from the mag well?

Well I talked to Para directly today and got some answers. The limited series pistols have been out of production for over 4 months now and isn't expected to be produced again until September or October and probably won't be seen in stores until 2013. Apparently they are doing some magazine reconfiguations and that's why they were taken off the production line. So there it is.

Anopsis just let me know what you decide to do. I have a kimber am going to try to trade for whatever I find. I you aren't able to trade with them and I can get, I would be glade to trade the mags with you. Where is your dealer located?

I am looking for a P14 or P16 limited to buy for shooting limited class but it's like there aren't any to be found. I've talked to two of local dealers and they have talked to all of there distributors and we just can't find a new one anywhere. Anybody have any advice to where they might be hiding them all?

Went to my first match this morning and already fell in love with it. I didn't compete this time, just walked around and watched and talked a few of the normal shooters. Talked a guy who lives near me and he invited me out to practice at his home range for some practice/training sessions. I can't wait to get out and shoot my first match.

I'm curious if an STI magazine will run reliably in my Para P16 .40. The para mags are hard to come by and I'm sure the STI mags will last a little longer. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks

I understand the costs of shooting. Ive shot competition in everything from long range rifle to 3-D archery and some shotgun. I just looked at the IPSC production gun list and the P18 isnt list. Should I go straight into limited?

I have recently been interested in competition pistol shooting. I have been shooting pistols for a while now and I'm looking for a new hobby. I've read the forums in and out and I've watched every video with the keyword pistol in it but I just don't know anyone personally to talk to. I have a para P18 limited that I will be...... Attempting........ To compete with. But what I'm wanting to know is if there is any advantage to joining USPSA or IPSC and what would be the best class to get my feet wet in? Any advise would be more than I have now. Thanks
