  1. I have 3-170s and 3-140s for matches. 2-140s I use for mandatory reload etc. And 1-170 and 2-140s for dry fire and practice.
  2. Mine is just under 2lbs, but that is how it came from the build
  3. The brass is the same just heavier, would prob be nice for a plastic grip to add weight. I have the steel one on my PT Grip now. It does work well. I have 2 practice mags that I use just for reload practice. I have been randomly checking the feed lips and no change. I am sure over time it will, but I dry fire 3-4 times a week and have not seen anything since I put the mag well on. That was about 2 months ago. It may require some minor fitting on a PT grip, but its very minor and a small file and about an hour and it will fit great. It works, but when you use metal vs metal if the mag is way crooked it can still get hung. For me not near as bad. I have done it slowly on purpose and maybe once or twice during dry fire when I really push the speed of the reload, but for matches and in general it has indeed eliminated out of line reloads for me.
  4. After adjusting the slider I loaded a couple hundred rounds and have zero issues with the primer slide bar sticking and only got one primer that was sideways. I will fine tune a bit more and see if I can eliminate that completely. Should have my parts next week to get going with the auto drive I hope.
  5. I checked the rocker it was tight but had free movement, but the little adjustment ramp that the primer bar sits on way not as tight..backed it down a hair and tighten it up and zero problem in the rounds I ran...thanks for the help!!
  6. I did adjust the rod to get a little deaper primer seat and that worked great. Mine hangs up when the new primer has been picked up and is in the slider moving toward. It sticks before the pin can line it up I push slightly forward and it lines up and works. So I am not sure if it's the bolt spring mechanism or why it sticks prior to being close enough that the pin will line it up
  7. was the primer bar not going all the way forward to be able to seat the primer and hanging up the machine? If so what did they tell you? I have that problem ever now and then, but dont want to call as I already have a big enough headache. Mine as been not good at all as well...we will see if it improves, really like the design but at this point I am pretty discussed with the whole thing.
  8. I am not one to bash a company, so I wont go into detail. But, I have spoke to them several times and sent several emails between myself and one CS rep. until I posted in the other thread the last contact from them was 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Then it took them like 5 min to respond to the thread and send and email to me. I know with all the holidays and shot show coming up things are busy, and I have been patient, but I am now at 7+ weeks with no end in sight of when the auto drive will actually work. So I just wanted to see if anyone else has had issues with the machine itself, CS or other problems. I will say, as I have told them in emails, I really hope they get is resolved because I think the machine is indeed a superior design to the other re-loaders in that class.
  9. I asked in another thread if anyone had problems with the Evo Pro. Are they a better design in my opinion yes. However there were missing parts and parts that didn't and still do not work. Cant get CS to return emails or anything. I wont go into bashing here. But lets just say I have had my Evo Pro since Mid Nov. and the auto-drive has yet to make a round. Worth the money design wise yes, CS and warranty wise, TBD, at this point no.
  10. Has anyone had issues with CS or their Evo Pro not shipping with all the parts or not working when they received? If so how long did it take for them to get you fixed up right?
  11. Between the 2, I would def go Akai. I have shot several brands and I like Akai.
  12. If you need to tune them ATLAS has a video out on it. I run all gen2 have 3 170s and 3 140 match mags. Have some others for practice/dry fire etc. I run TTI guys and base pads and they work great. If you tune them to ATLAS specs, even the first Gen2 mags run for me anyway
  13. I am running between 9.2-9.4 grn of aa7 in gun and get about the same 1400 at 9.4 grn, could be a fast barrel or the lot of powder, who knows. But so far I like AA7 and 3n37 the best. My gun is not a Venom Custom though but the powder charge is about the same
  14. I have shot a middy and middy from other builders, but have shot the shortend middy that see have discussed. I just like a heavier gun and always had full length guns. At my skill level, not sure that would change much, lots of practice I am sure will..lol And of course being tuned right would have a big impact on feel etc and I don't know what loads were in the above guns.
  15. I run the ultra thin. I just trim enough of the slide stop notch off so it doesn't drag.
  16. ATLAS Gunworks has some videos out on STI Gen2 tubes and how to tune them. I have 2 more tubes on the way that will have to be tuned. I currently have 2-170s and 6 140s all tuned to the ATLAS dimensions with TTI springs and followers and they all run great.
  17. I might at some point, but I have about 12k 124s to load already so pretty set for now using those right now.
  18. I was just out today on the Chrono with 9.4 grns of AA7 @38° and it was still around 174pf out of my gun. Which is what it consistently chronoed all year. So it could be the lot# for the powder
  19. My results: Akai full length v6 new comp 9mm AA7 9.2 grn 124grn pd @ 1.165 170 pf AA7 9.4 grn 124grn pd @ 1.165 174 pf MajP 10.0 grn 124grn pd @ 1.165 170pf MajP 10.2 grn 124grn pd @ 1.165 174pf Both were very flat. I liked 170pf in both better than the 174 pf. The dot stayed in the glass for both. Both had very consistent fps through the Chrono, with MajP being the best at 5 fps difference between the fastest and slowest. AA7 was at 9fps. AA7 tracked straight up and down and felt soft. Lots of gas to work the comp. Returned to zero, with no dipping or having to force the gun down. MajP tracked up and slightly to the right but did return to zero. It had a little more felt push in the hand, but also had a little less dot lift, so just a bit flatter. I will continue to play with both, and see what I can out of MajP. It I had to choose now, I would go AA7 as it tracks straighter for me. But MajP is definitely a contender at least in my opinion.
  20. I just filed off enough it wouldn't drag. I did have one that did the same, and would let a round slip past the follower, after I took to much of the nub off. Replaced the follower and filed less off, ran like a champ since. I can get 29 in on and 30 in one...30 rounder is hit and miss. Both run great at 29.
  21. I run aa7 9.4 grns @ 1.165 with a pd 124 grn jhp through an akai v6 9mm. I have shot the round back in the summer at around 95° and just the other day at 38° and it was still over a 170pf. Summer was around 176 recently around 173. racer-x I do the same with powder an do a avgerage of 5 drops.
  22. I currently run STI Gen2 tubes with the TTI spring and thin small followers. I have had zero problems. The Gen2 need to be tuned and have the shoulders of the mag set to the right dimensions. Check those based on the ATLAS videos on YouTube. That could be part of the problem.
  23. So far it takes a couple 10ths more than aa7 maybe a little less dot movement. It feels softer to me, but I only really care about dot movement. I have some aa7 loaded as well and will do a little more comparison and report back. For AA7 I am around 9.4 grns at 173 pf. For MP I am around 10 grns and a 170pf. Still have a little more testing to do as I have been told and read that mp is reverse temp sensitive.
  24. Fatjoe, I don't think there is a lot of difference but the smoothness of the Akai is definitely noticable, to me. The lead times are definitely not the same, however your comparing a full custom gun to a semi-custom production gun in both price and lead times. A full custom Atlas just like my Akai is actually about 1k more than I paid. So yes I think mine is better !!!!...lol
