  1. Match was WAY better than before. Stages were on par with other major matches. Match ran smooth and on time or even early. Revolver shot 12 instead of 15 stages due to med, etc. I thought it was a well balanced match.
A huge THANK YOU to the staff and everyone that made the match happen. Also THANK YOU to the sponsors that supported this match.
Last but not least congrats to all the winners.

I couldn't agree more... it should bring more shooters out next year

  2.
Has this actually happened? I have never seen a safe area delineated by fault lines, one is either in front of the safe table or not.

Single stack and revolver nationals.. they are clearly marked with fault lines.

  3. Ive had this happen 4 years ago. I was shooting in the spring and shot a match Saturday and it was sunny and 60 degrees out. Gun ran fine.
Sunday however it was 30 degrees in the morning and I got miss fires in the gun on the same ammo. I changed the strain spring and rebound spring to wolf factory springs(i happened to carry them with me) and the gun ran the rest of the day without issues.. cold weather effects metal and springs.

  4. OK.  Stages are posted.  Get out your running shoes.  A lot of movement and tight shots. Standards start at 50 yards, and end up at 25 yards weak hand only.  It's going to be a different match.  Richard.

I hope it is.. I think the issue has been location and the stages over the past few year's. I'm coming off of shoulder surgery and had very little interest in going back to shoot the same match 4 years in a row.

  5. It will not hurt your chamber, If it did just about every 357 mag in the world would have the chambers messed up from shooting 38s.  You will get a carbon ring at the end of the chamber that will need cleaned before you go back to supers, but cleaning is all it will need.  Your gun may not cycle 9s but trying them out won't hurt a thing.

This a partially true statement.. As always its about how many rounds you shoot through any gun.. with revolvers you can shoot 38spl or 38 short colts in a 357 cylinder.. the 38spl and short colts do eat away at the cylinder walls ruining the cylinder putting rings in the cylinder walls..

Im looking to covert my daughters 38super comp open gun.. to 9mm as well.. I got a price for 600.00

  6. Revolver is painful to watch and really slows a squad down. If you aren't running large basepads on your SS mags, that would be something to consider.  Depending on the club, your mags can take a beating.

I challenge you to a dual!!!!!

I love stomping slow lazy bottom feeders.. its like bring logic to a conversation with a liberal... mind blowing..

  7. MrDanCheck, very cool!
Can't wait my daughter to start shooting. [emoji4]
    What pistol is it?

Ruger 22/45 lite.. with a bunch of volquartsen goodies..

I had a lot of feeding issues with the gun when I got it. It was all mags..
Markershot mag and follows fixed it..
The still wont run hollow points

  8. you want either a 327/627 ( 38 caliber ) or 929 ( 9mm ) don't bother looking at anything else.

There is a 327 TRR8 for sale in the classifieds here.

    That's not a shameless plug... [emoji4]

But he's right.. 627/929 only way to go..

  9. Several friends purchased 929s that had timing or other action issues from the factory.

A local revolver tuning expert who worked my TRR8 said he has sent a number of 929s back to the factory for repair before he worked on them.

Right now my TRR8 is on it's way to S&W to have a titanium cylinder installed.

What.. you can just send them to Smith and wesson and they put the parts you want on the gun? They sold you a separate ti cylinder?

  10. Are you using 9mm seating and crimp dies?  It was suggested to me to use a 38spl seating Lee FC die set if I was going to use 38spl bullets (.358") in 9mm brass.

I use a 9mm Lee roll crimp and seating die. I don't use any 38spl dies on anything.. I used to use a Lee U die for sizing but it didn't see any real benefits to the U die..

  11. I run .358 bullets coated in my 929.. I found that my 929 didn't like plated bullets .356 .. typically you want very little crip on plated bullets and doesn't work out for reloading on the run. The bullets would come out of the case..

  12. I would be tempted to come shoot a match like that, and could probably get some of the other IN & KY guys to roll with me to shoot it.

How much revolver do you see being shot at your local USPSA/IDPA matches? If you can get those guys on board, then you could probably get a better pull from other states as well.

In VA there are about 5 wheel gunners if Forest shows up.. I heard that there are a couple in NC.. The issue is we get to shoot a decent USPSA match almost everyday of the weekend.

  13. Coated bullets or fully jacketed are the way to go. Plated will flake and give you weird accuracy.

I won't speak for them but I'm pretty sure 80% of the top 10 at relover nationals where all shooting coated bullets.
