  1. So ugh... how bout them Cowboys eh? I just received my pair of 2.8s, seems like a great product and well built. I can't wait to try them out once finals are over next week.
  2. anyone know if the 88, (16 shell) can be separated to 2 8 round caddies? Seems the 2.8s are OOS. Thanks. edit, whoops, NVM got confused with the 2.8 and the 8p
  3. If it's anything like their micro, you will be good to go
  4. As a noob I went with taccom because it was much cheaper to buy 1 quaload and practice quadloading with one caddy than it would be to drop 100+ on an FSL8 only to find it wasn't for me. As funds allowed I bought another taccom and the backer. Now that Taccom has an 8round quaload for 70 its still very economical to buy and try to see if it works for you. I have no experience with the fsl8/12 so who knows if it's better but I can load 8 in 5 seconds now and that is good enough for me
  5. glad to see the arredondo got worked out. I haven't had any time to shoot recently and jest left the shotgun in the safe as it sat.
  6. Anyone know why or have speculations on why the loading port was scaled back to 3in?
  7. Just slap a benny hill, not the shooter, soundtrack in the background and post it up! lol
  8. capped, there is no need to fiddle with the turrets with this reticle after you get a solid zero.
  9. Don't get me wrong, I do like to see what people are using but in no way shape or form do I think running X brand will make me be on an equal playing field with those who are more seasoned and more importantly at an elevated skill set. That's just a complete fallacy. The fact of the matter is that it takes me more time to miss targets and re-engage than it does to swap a mag and that goes for ANY weapon used in the sport.
  10. As someone fairly new to 3 gun, I really don't care what my competition has. Is it fair a stock glock holds 15/17 and I am up against a race 2011 with 22-26 in the same class? Is it fair my inexpensive 1-4x is in the same class as a 2k 1-6x or higher? I really don't care and MOST new shooters don't. I realize that some of you guys are out to keep sponsors happy and get to go all over the country to shoot matches and have a LOT of time to practice. Most new shooters don't and we are there not to worry about who has what gear, we are there to have fun and get some sun. Unless 3gun starts going into more specific classes, I don't see the issue with magazine size.
  11. Hand cycling won't give you much of any indication of what will happen. Take it to the range, fire it and make sure it cycles with ALL types of ammo you use and go from there. Mine sits at about 13inches past the tube on an 8+ and cycles everything so I left it alone.
  12. I'd love to see the video of a 9 second pump run, that's incredibly fast! I'll put up a video this weekend but it will be pretty slow
  13. Be sure and loctite the included screw. Mine backed out on me and I almost lost it.
  14. I use machine gun lube on the bolt assembly, carrier and a smear on the inside of the rail on the reciever where the carrier slides. Lightly lube the piston rings and the follower. That's it. Don't need it to be AR BCG dripping wet. Frog lube works ok but the machine gun lube doesn't gum up or cook off as fast
  15. Load two opening tends to have more of the front of the port beveled and opened more aggressively
  16. Your 930 should do just fine, I know mine will run faster than I can and mine has been great to me thus far. Your glock 19 is just fine as well. I would like to address of each of your points based off my limited (5 Matches) experience: 1: I would personally run #8 or #7.5 Winchester AA or Sureshot dove loads. Slugs will be gun specific for POI so I would suggest trying each at 50/100 yards from the standing position and see where they impact. The closest I could get to POI/POA for my 930 22in waterfowl without changing the sights or bending the barrel was the Winchester Ranger reduced recoil slugs. Most stages will dictate what you can use with most places not allowing anything over #4 shot. I think 2 matches I have been at used buckshot and maybe 5-10 slugs for the whole day. IMO slugs are always wise to bring to a match just in case. 2: I started with CCW 4 round caddies then went to APC 4x4 since I won them at a prize table and have recently added Taccom Quaload caddies in the mix but I still use both methods depending on the stage. The CCW are about 25 bucks each and you can find these used for about 20 each. Most of my local matches are about 20 rounds for shotgun per stage so I try to keep at least 30 rounds of shotgun shells on the belt but some matches have even higher round count stages 3: I still use the same CR speed belt I started with. I like how I can remove the outer belt, slide on whatever load out I need and quickly strap the belt back on. Kydex can be relatively cheap if you look in the right places. I think the first mag carriers I bought were from tacticalkydex on glocktalk and they were 20 bucks a pair for pistol. http://glocktalk.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=46411&title=kydex-magazine-holders-for-pistol-and-rifle&cat=8 I have since started making my own since I couldn't find what I wanted/needed from any options out there and it comes out to be much cheaper for me. 4: Always carry one more than you think need is my rule. I often see people run up to a barrel to grab a rifle and the mag isn't seated and it drops right out of the gun as soon as thy should it. Same thing for when they do a mag change in either pistol or rifle and you just watch it drop right out of the magwell and on to the floor. Its not really safe to go fumbling on the ground for a mag while you have a weapon in your hand so just bring extra if you can. Hell throw it in a pocket if you have to.
  17. I'll take that 930 off their hands for 350 as well
  18. My limited experience sees more SLP issues than 930s but I guess it's all relative. Find what works and keep it is what I always go by. I know I would be furious with a 8-1200 dollar shotgun than needed a break in or gave me fits
  19. I will take that into account, thank you for the heads up. As of now its not moving under friction fit and loading practice but that doesn't mean it won't fly off during live fire. I'll come up with something to rig it in more perminately for sure though
  20. It's not shown in the picture but what I will have is a screw that will be tapped in the face of the existing button to keep the arrendondo bolt release in place. This would be similar to how it attatches to a benelli, just a larger head on the screw to compensate for boring it out. In the picture it is only friction fitted to make sure it would work. Now it's just a matter of finding the right hardware to make it permanent Dukduk, I think you will find it to be a huge improvement, go for it!
  21. I never have any problems but I know some do. Maybe I just got lucky that I bought a waterfowl and modded it to taste over time. I run about 200 rounds in a practice session without issue and clean it when I get home. I use machine gun lube or frog lube only if that matters. I did have a stove pipe when using Walmart bulk but that was it in about 3k rounds.
  22. They say necessity is the mother of invention, I tend to agree. After practicing with the matchsaver, the extended button for a bolt release on the Mossberg 930 did a number on my first knuckle on my ring finger and I wanted something that was a bit easier to depress as well as provide a larger surface area in which to do so. Thanks to USP45ss on here I received his Arrendondo Benelli bolt release to monkey with for free to see if I could get it to work. I just bored the hole out a bit and I think it will be permanently attached after tapping the bolt release button and using a small rubber washer on the bottom as a stop. As it sits now I can release the bolt from anywhere on the pad and best of all its much more comfortable to practice with. It might not seem like much but now that I have time to practice and not worry about my sissy mitts( ) getting all mangled it makes me want to get out and shoot and practice loading and such much more now that I have a month off from school.
  23. Finally made if out to test the wardrobe hanger bars on a windy day. Annoying to say the least as they kept blowing off
