  1. I love the baby eagle, quite possibly the most comfy grip on any pistol I've ever shot. I think my Stock II balances just a bit better and seems to shoot a bit flatter but I will definitely have a railed bEagle on my nightstand in the near future. Just keep in mind that if your into the tanfoglio feel the grip on the Baby Eagle is quite a bit smaller. I had to rock the super slim EG grips to get around the same grip circumference as a bEagle. I would almost prefer the frame on the bEagle if it wasn't for that amazing checkering on the competition frame. Also the bEagle doesn't really give you a comfy spot to rack the slide, no front serrations and safety/decocker is right in the way of the rear serrations. Of course I'm sure you could live with those minor disadvantages for 1/3 the price and the fact that you can actually find/buy one.
  2. Hopefully he will post...did he do it himself? Nealio helped point me in the right direction but yeah I was able to get my DA/SA awesome. Compared to one of my production rivals Angus trigger job on his SP-01 I would say his DA is more linear but mine is actually lighter and shorter overall. My SA is much more light and crisp and resets shorter. I went with the EG Xtreme Hammer which shortened the reset and made things a bit more crisp. Beware that it brings the break point a bit futher back towards the frame giving more leverage in DA.
  3. I do run a 14 and I crater primers pretty hard. I could probably go lighter but I like the pull where it is. SA is down to a crisp 3ish and I think DA is rocking around 7, really smooth. I have put about 100 rounds of various defensive rounds (XTPs, HSTs, Gold Dots, maybe some others) through the pistol and I've never had a light strike. In fact I've never had a malfunction at all in the 2k I've put through it other than when I briefly experimented with a 6lb recoil spring and was cycling a bit to fast to effectively feed the next round. 8lb runs perfect for my 180 gr 40 minor loads at about 137pf, 11 lb runs great for major, and the factory 12 is perfect and surprisingly smooth for hot defensive rounds.
  4. I personally saw this conversion in action just blowing through ammo like it was no big deal. You've got the beast running like clockwork. I take back what I said about conversions and am no longer looking or a buckmark.... haha
  5. I'll have to agree in full, I was lucky enough to grab a Stock II in 40 recently and it has prompted me to liquidate my pistol inventory. Looks like I could use this for about anything! Shoots 180s at both Major and Minor velocity like a dream. Love the competition frame ergos =)
  6. I was wondering if anyone had a picture of a recently purchased Tanfoglio/EAA compact frame magazine? I've handled the older ones and they don't feed that great so I'm trying to see if they have been updated recently. Thanks in advance!

    X5/X6 slides

Thanks a lot, I'll contact them!

    X5/X6 slides

So it seems like in Europe they sell slides for X5s and X6s, does anyone know if there is a way to get ahold of one in the US? Would be cool to have a 9mm or 40 X6 slide to play with once in awhile.
  9. Another great holster option is the Race holster from C.O.M. http://comholsters.com/themall/ Rick doesn't give a lot of details on his website but his products are very well made. I asked for the production race cut and it supports the weight of the X5 without any modification. I'll post some pics when I get home. Keep in mind the wait is very long but completely worth it.
  10. I may be willing to trade one for your extended mag release to try out.
  11. Typically in my other guns the SRT has made the sa feel a bit more creepy and the DA feel a bit grindy. On my X5 i spend a bit of time doing a bit of light squaring of the sear surface and the hammer hook. Make sure that you polish up the new safety lever and you can get a really good trigger. I may have gotten lucky but my DA is super smooth and my SA has no noticeable creep with a short positive reset. Using the same parts in my 226 however i was not able to obtain the same results.
  12. Just depends on the person and your preferences. I ditched my 34 for an X5 AA and I've raised my hitfactor by quite a bit. This is this B Class shooters opinion and of course others may have a different experience.
  13. What capacity are these extensions getting in 9mm? In USPSA I shoot production with my X5 all around and absolutely love it but I also run the gun for 3 gun and having a good capacity is key.
  14. Who manufactures this barrel? AFAIK, JP 20" is only JP medium contour (at least that is what is listed on their website). http://www.jprifles.com/1.4.1_barrel.php I saw this as well, only medium contour listed with the thick gas block. My last 3 gun barrel was an 18" .750 all the way down as well. Seemed to be a great accuracy vs. weight ratio, would be cool if I could find this or slightly thicker in a 20". Give Compass Creek a call. They will custom contour a barrel for you. Great people to work with. I have a 18" SPR contour made from a Douglas stainless blank that is sub MOA. It is heavy enough to be steady but compact enough for CQB. I am sure they could build you one in 20". Sounds like another good option to look into, thanks!
  15. Good to know, my G10s were awesome but I don't know if I can bring myself to drop that kind of cash again. Do you guys just take the iron strait to the plastic or do you douse them in WD40 before hand?
  16. Hello! I run this HP when I shoot 45 and its a great shooter but needs to be loaded a bit shorter. Try 1.229. This runs great in my sig, glocks, and fed awesome in my old springer 1911
  17. Thanks! Very cool, these are cheap enough that I may give it a try with the butane iron
  18. Got to wonder if Im underestimating the accuracy of a good government profile 20". BCM nearly always has a standard government profile CHF in stock
  19. Sounds good! I'll give those weights a try now that I've got some 230gr hand-loads to run
  20. Has anyone had any experience stippling or checkering factory plastic sig grips? I have a set of G10 Piranhas that I love on my X-Five but I'm really enjoying how thin my p220 ST is with the factory plastic thin grips. My only complaint is that I wish they had a bit more grip. Also does anyone have any experience with the aluminum grips? I remember them being really thing but I've never compared then with plastic thin-grips. Thanks!
  21. I shot an M1a scout recently and it was very smooth with surprisingly light recoil even though it did seem to hop slightly up and to the right rather than strait back like an AR-15. Are most general AR-10 type platforms a bit on the bucky side in comparison? That carrier group is absolutely huge!
  22. That's cause their matches have become carbine matches. Indeed, it seems like those same competitors were still running longer rifles at ironman this year.
  23. What would the downside to a LMOS be in the realm of reliability? It would seem that a light bolt with increased carrier speed would lead to early extraction problems similar to some cheaper over-gassed factory rifles. I guess I could see that slowing down a bit with lighter pressure ammo or perhaps an adjustable gas block...
