    Mec-gar mags

Hi Rhett, Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I have no experience with the EZ-off base pad, but what I believe that Dawson is referring to with the "2012 Para...Made in Italy", is our hi-cap .45 mags. We do use Mec-Gar for OEM in this case, as they have a longer overall length than the Italian .40 mags, and work quite well. This is only a guess though, and I need to find out for sure. I'm very sorry for any confusion. Thank you for the help on this! Best regards, Travis

    Mec-gar mags

Gentlemen, Not to confuse matters, but we don't contract with Mec-Gar for .40S&W double-stack mags. These are purely an aftermarket offering, available from Mec-Gar, but not Para. We are currently redesigning our factory mags for the ultimate in reliability and capacity. Please let me know if I can help. Best regards, Travis Para USA

    P14 trigger job

Your Para came from the factory with the Cylinder & Slide hammer, sear, and disconnector. You can get the Series 80 frame filler to delete the S80 parts from Brownells for $5.
  14. Here is the lightened 9mm slide kit: http://paraproshop.com/para-parts/pistol-parts/custom-6-inch-hicap-9mm-slide-kit.html
  15. Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. The checkering on the front strap of the Para 40SS is 25LPI. I worked closely with EGW to design the barrel bushing, which greatly improves the accuracy, longevity, and offers the unique profile. The extractor is a machined EGW HD. The ignition kit is by Cylinder & Slide using their hammer, sear, and disconnector. The slide is flat topped with front and rear serrations. I wanted the entire pistol finished in Ionbond...on the frame, the slide, and the ramped match barrel. Instead of the "billboard" style logo, we did a laser engraved and subdued "Para 40SS". Also, the VZ G10 grips come standard. Just a taste of what's to come from the NEW Para! Best regards, Travis
  16. Hi guys, The Para 40SS is now available from the Pro Shop for $999, packed with EGW and Cylinder & Slide components, and full Ionbond finish: http://paraproshop.com/para-40-ss.html
  17. If the slide is stainless it will have an 'S' stamped on the bottom of the raceway. As far as the actual finishes used, on our "Classic" line of pistols, we are now using a Nitride finish. This provides an extremely hard, corrosion resistant finish, which gives a very appealing black appearance. Nitride also has very good anti-friction properties, and results in a finish that is harder and much more wear resistant, than bluing or parkerizing. This is a great feature at this price point. The "Classic" line includes: GI Expert GI LTC P14-45 On our "Performance", "Premium", "Limited", and "Black Ops" line of pistols, we are using Ionbond PVD/DLC. This is an exceptionally hard finish with an extremely low Coefficient of Friction, while offering superior corrosion resistance. Because it's only a few microns thick, we are able to keep our tolerances tighter, resulting in an improved fit, finish, and longevity. I've been using Ionbond on my competition guns for the past few years. Besides the durability and resistance to corrosion, what has really impressed me is its ability to retain and release oil during prolonged use. Typically my practice sessions consist of 500-600 rounds, held in 90 to 100 degree weather. With the Ionbond finish, my gun stays well lubricated despite the extremely high operating temperatures. Aftermarket application of this finish will typically cost you approximately $300. Some examples: Ionbond is featured on the following pistols: 1911 SSP 1911 LTC Hawg 7 Warthog Slim Hawg Companion Carry Stealth (Ionbond on frame, slide, and barrel) 14-45 Limited 16-40 Limited 18-9 Limited 1911 Black Ops (Ionbond on barrel as well as the slide and frame) 1911 Black Ops LTD (Ionbond on barrel as well as the slide and frame) 14-45 Black Ops (Ionbond on barrel as well as the slide and frame) 14-45 Tactical 16-40 TT (Ionbond on slide and barrel)
  18. Hey guys, I was in the plant today and we are working hard on the new .40 mags. I appreciate your patience, as these will be a much better magazine. We don't want to release them until they are good to go. Please stay tuned. Thanks, Travis

The Tactical should be ready for delivery 4/29/11. Thanks, Travis

    Para Tactical

It's a Mec-Gar mag with anti-friction coating and it will accept Dawson pads. It also has a flat top slide and the finish on the Tactical alone would cost $300 after market. It must be shot to be fully appreciated!
