  1. I have both and they both work great. The Springer pads meet weight and the box with no issues with my CZ Accu when weighed at Area 5 and IL Sectional. They both make weight and fit the box without issue. I personally like the Shockbottle pads a little better for match use, but I like the Springer Precision pad price a little better. But they are both great. It's just personal preference.
  2. Nothing like getting to the end of a stage and seeing that not all the plates were reset! Nice shooting. I need to get my hands on a P320 full size just to try it out. I love my Accu and won't ever give it up, but this looks like a great choice for USPSA. Alma, I know you moved from an Accu to a P320. Any regrets?
  3. Excellent! I think Stoeger Pro Shop is coming out with basepads, too, for the P320.
  4. Thanks for the update. I'm interested in hearing more about it and how you progress with it.
  5. I don't use one in smaller club matches. But i will use one in larger matches with 10 or more stages. And because I'm getting older and the back and knee's aren't as forgiving lugging around my gear bag with ammo, mags, parts, backup gun, food, water, etc, etc. It's just a small, collapsible wagon. I think I got it at Sam's. But it's very durable and works great.
  6. I had a heck of a time with that too as I replaced the stock hammer on an SP01. Had to beat it like it owed me money.
  7. Looks like your LGS knew what they were talking about. jroback just posted a sweet looking .45 on his facebook page. I'd be all over a 9mm.

    CZ Accu Shadow

I'm seeing more CZ's all the time at matches, mostly Shadow's and Accu Shadow's. I don't think that trend will reverse any time soon.
  9. I'll share my experiences as an average talent shooter in USPSA (B class in Limited and Production) so take it for what it's worth. I started out shooting Limited with an XDM40 5.25" with magwell and comp trigger. Great set up to begin competing. I wanted a heavier gun so went with a Sig X5 Competition model. Later, I had the chance to obtain a Sig X5 L1 with the adjustable trigger. I got it and started using it in Limited div. I've never shot a gun so well in my life. However, the max mag capacity I could reloadable was 17 rounds with the Roger Sherman extended basepads. Guys shooting an STI, SVI, Tanfo, CZ, etc, in Limited were getting 20 or more reloadable. To many people it probably would not be a big deal, but it was to me. But I want every advantage available. So, I eventually got an STI Edge for comp and had tuned mags that got 20 rds reloadable. If the Sig X5L1 had reloadable 20 rd mags I'd still be using it. This last year (2014) I decided to try my hand at Production. I started with a Sig X5 Allround that had trigger work done by Sig Custom. I knew based on my other Sig X5's it would be an outstanding gun, and it was. I had a friend that owned a CZ Shadow that had trigger work done by Matt Mink. After handling it and shooting it, I was blown away by the DA trigger. I didn't know a DA trigger could be so sweet. So, I eventually switched to a CZ Accu Shadow that has the SRTS and trigger work done by CZ Custom. The DA trigger on the Sig X5 Allround with a Sig Custom Shop trigger job just doesn't match up to the DA trigger on the Accu. I really wish it did, but it just doesn't. I'll be shooting the Accu for many years. I own some pretty nice guns, but my favorite of all time is, and probably always will be, the Sig X5L1. I hate to sound like a broken record, but FOR ME it just wasn't the optimal "competition" gun for the division I was shooting.

    CZ75 SP01 TS SHADOW LS 40

If this was production legal I would buy 2 right now DITTO!
  11. I own a Stock III 9mm. It's a nice gun. But in my opinion if you can buy a CZ Accu Shadow for close to the same money, get the Accu Shadow. And based on the current bidding on that Stock III on GB, it's going to sell at Accu price. I compete with an Accu and easily prefer it over my Stock III. I just feel it balances better in my hands and I prefer it's DA/SA trigger. And my Stock III has had a trigger job. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure plenty of people would prefer the Stock III over the Accu. I can't comment on if I'd prefer the Accu over the Stock II, however, as I've never had the opportunity to shoot a Stock II 9mm.

    New accushadow

I had CZC replace the HAJO sight with an adjustable rear on my primary Accu. My back up Accu I bought off Gunbroker and just kept the HAJO rear. But for my needs the Accu was ready to shoot in matches right out of the box.
  13. I've ordered 18 of the Springer basepads (6 red, 6 blue, 6 silver) for CZ and Mecgar mags for my CZ Accu. Shot a lot of matches with them this summer and they worked great and very durable.
  14. Looks like a dealer has them for sale on Gunbroker. Appears as if several have sold from the same dealer. Any member of Benos pick one up? If so I'd like to hear your feedback.
  15. I don't have much to offer as I'm a lowly B class shooter. But I'll offer what I learned when I switched from Limited to Production this year (and also shooting a CZ Accu). Here is what I learned very quickly: 1)slow down and hit the A zone (because you were already shooting minor PF in Limited you already know how important this is), 2)practice my reloads a LOT to get quicker and smoother, 3)identify the most optimal stage breakdown incorporating reloads, 4)try to squad with skilled production shooters to copy their stage breakdown and to ask advice. Shooting Limited I had picked up the habit of move fast and just hit the target somewhere, just get on paper but move fast. The faster the better. This did not work very well in Production. I'm fortunate that I shoot local matches with some very good Production shooters from whom I've learned a LOT. Also took a two day class offered by Matt Mink and Ben Stoeger which was a HUGE help. Moving to Production has made me a better shooter. I can now break down a stage much better, I get many more A zone hits, my reloads are quick and smooth, and my speed has gotten back up to where it was when I was shooting Limited.

    Decocker or not?

The first CZ I was using in Production was a CZ SP01 Tactical 9mm, which is simply the decocker version of the SP01. I ordered it from Matt Mink of Automatic Accuracy who did the full trigger job, swapped sights, trigger, hammer, springs, etc. I've since moved on to a CZ Accu. But I can tell you as someone with experience with the decocker version, that it CAN be worked over to have an outstanding trigger. Mink got the DA/SA down to approximately 7#/3#. The reset is slightly longer than a Shadow with the SRTS, but it's still very nice. Matt did as much as he could to shorten both the pre-travel and reset as much as possible with the SP01 Tactical, and I was amazed at how much he improved everything. A decocker version can be worked over to have a very nice overall trigger.
  17. No, that's not what I mean. Why, do you think that? Or do you think that's what I mean? I have no idea what you meant by your comment? That's why I was wanting clarity. Is USPSA addressing DA/SA guns in Production? Or is their a faction of shooters in USPSA that feel it needs to be addressed? The comment of "needs to be addressed" regarding DA/SA makes me think that might be the case. USPSA isn't going to listen to me, but they will listen to someone of your stature and accomplishments within the sport. I shoot a DA/SA gun in Production, so some clarity on the comment would be appreciated.
  18. I agree with Atilla. I understand the trend and dont need that explained. I'd like clarification on Leatham's "needs to be addressed" comment? What exactly does that mean? That only striker fired guns should be allowed in Production, like an XDm for example?
  19. I've seen plenty of excellent shooters who aren't what I would consider "athletic." They would suck on a basketball court. It appears from my NON-expert observations that top shooters move well and have exceptional hand/eye coordination.
  20. Posted by TGO: "The trigger on Eric's gun is exceptional, not anything you are expecting it to be. Some have trouble lifting 5 lbs on da pull. They are very heavy and on many stages gun started empty so no DA shot was ever fired. IPSC rules (Not USPSA) are weighted to favor the da/sa guns and the Tanfoglio's being shot have a distinct advantage. Being competitive with other than a da/sa platform seems unlikely to me. This issue is cokming home to USPSA also amd needs to be addressed. The results confirm this. 9 is not more accurate than .40, but easier to shoot due to less recoil." "This issue is coming home to USPSA also and needs to be addressed" part caught my eye. I'm not sure what this means? Do you mean USPSA "needs" to address DA/SA guns in Production? As someone who shoots a DA/SA CZ Shadow in Production, I'd like a little more clarity.
  21. FrontSightGoesWhere, Will the Production model eventually be available in the U.S.?
  22. I've Google searched Beretta Competition and USPSA guns, and I don't find anything on a new competition specific, potential Production approved gun from Beretta.
  23. I have the CZ Custom thick aggressive pattern aluminum grips on my Accu's. I really like the size and aggressive texture. However, I do prefer the texture of the VZ Diamond grips even more, but they are just too thin for my hands. I tried them out for a few matches and went back to the CZC thick grips. It would be great if VZ made a grip the same thickness as the CZC thick aluminum grips with the aggressive diamond texture. For me that would be the ideal grip.
  24. Well, still nothing at all about a new Beretta competition gun.
  25. I've had great results with Hornady 147 fmj and Xtreme 147 plated through my Accu.
