Answered my own question the Romeo 1Pro takes a special plate. Will need to look around to find a plate as I have a new Pro I wanted to try out and compare with the DPP’s I am currently running.

No mags to be found right now. Everything on back order.

I ended up with the Master model trigger as they where sold out of the racer. I will install it and give it a go.

Has anyone mounted @ Romeo 1 Pro and does it use the same mounting plate as the DPP or did you need a custom mounting plate?

I was warned of that but so far in dry fire not able to replicate. Planning to live fire tomorrow.

Walther warrantied the TRS and I bought a couple spares as well from them. $5 part so silly to not have spares. I called on Monday and it came in the mail today. That’s great service. I picked up a Sprinco TRS as well and put that in tonight and did some dry fire. I was impressed with how it lightened the pull. Will do some live fire testing on Friday and see how she runs.

I can’t find anyone selling factory trigger return Springs. Ben Stoeger Pro Shop has the Sprinco TRS but just looking for the standard factory TRS. Best option to just call Walther customer service? I broke one today at a match so looking to order a couple.

Compete with a poly Q5 in CO Carry a Glock 43. Thinking about picking up a 4” ppq for carry as well.

I picked up one as well for my Q5 and ran it tonight in a practice session with a 15 lb Wolff spring. I was impressed. Make sure and get the longer Jentra tungsten guide rod made for the 17L/24/34/35 as it matches up to the Q5 nicely Realize the ISMI flat springs are too small a diameter and you will need the Wolff springs as they are a larger inside diameter. I have been running a 13lb flat spring with a SS captured guide rod setup but did not like how sloppy the slide movement was while running into shooting positions. I did not have any FTF’s but still did not like it going in and out of battery so easily. The 15 lb Wolff recoil spring in an uncaptured guide rod setup has enough spring tension that it keeps the slide in battery while moving aggressively into and out of shooting positions.

The after market Gen. 3 Glock guide rods also work in the poly Q5. Try Lone Wolf Distribution as they have tungsten guide rods in stock. Likely a little shorter than the M&P but for $40 and currently in stock it is worth a look.

Walther replaced mine as well. I also bought a spare one just in case. Great customer service

Broke the firing pin on my poly Q5 in dry fire. Was not using snap caps and had been dry firing consistently over the last 3 months. Was still surprised. Assuming Walther USA is the best option for finding a replacement.

In the latest USPSA magazine in the steel frame Q5 article there is mention of Walther making available aftermarket disconnector springs that will change pre-travel, reset and pull weight and are compatible with the polymer frame models as well. Be curious to see what they come out with. Part of the fun in this game is tinkering with your gear (and still maintaining reliability). Goal being a 3.5lb trigger (do able in most other polyframes i.e. SIG, Glock with drop in trigger kits) without any downsides to mechanical performance (dead trigger).

The non functioning trigger is a concern. Not sure that it is worth cutting a couple of pounds on the trigger pull and risking a dead trigger on a poor grip. Just curious if you are only running the stock trigger. Assuming you have done some polishing as well.

I use 3.2 grains @ OAL of 1.15. Gives me a 137 pf out of a Shadow. I throated my barrel as well so I could load out longer.

Really depends on your hand size. I have medium size hands and the Q5 fits me well. Guys with large hands it hangs off the bottom of the grip. Q5 is dependable and accurate. Trigger is good to go as is. I did feel the Q5 was over sprung and changed to a steel guide rod with a 13lb flat wire 1911 recoil spring.

I also use the same load in my X5 with excellent accuracy with both coated and jacketed 124/125 grain bullets.

For N320 I use 4.2 grains for 124/125 coated and jacketed @ 1.1 OAL for my CZ shadow. Gives a PF around 138 ish.

When we flew to iron sighted nats for 124 gr Molys it was a little over 3 lbs per hundred. So we flew with 300 rounds and sent the rest of our ammo with our buddies that drove.

I picked up a Q5 and started shooting it in November. I am mainly a production shooter but set mine up initially for carry optics and then recently switched it back over to iron sights and have gone back to production in preparation for Area 1 which is in May this year. For production (over the years) I started with a Glock 34, then transitioned to the CZ's (SP-01, Shadow, Accu-Shadow), moved on to the Tanfo's (Stock III, Stock II) and now am planning to run the Q5 thru the 2018 season. The trigger has been well advertised as one of the best out of the box striker fired and I have to agree. I went from a Stock II (with a Bolo setup) to the Q5 and really like the feel of the trigger. It will definitely not hold anyone back. From my side I am still getting used to the different trigger and working on my reset/prep but feel once I get dialed in with this gun I'll shoot it as well if not better than my Stock II. For accuracy out of the box I have been pleasantly surprised. I am using 147 gr Leatherhead bullets over 3.2 grains of TG loaded at an OAL of 1.15 and this combination is every bit as accurate as any of my Stock II's. Stayed after today's USPSA match to practice a little as the sun came out and at 25 yards was shooting the plate rack 1 for 1 and at that same distance shot a 10 round group off hand into a USPSA head with little difficulty. The gun will shoot as long as I do my part. I did find with the factory recoil spring setup the gun was over-sprung for me. From this I went to a fixed guide rod with the Wilson 13lb flat wire recoil spring and the setup works very well for me. I have also changed out the fiber front sight to a thinner fiber front sight, added grip tape and am using the TTI +3 base pads (for production). Pretty minor changes compared to what I did to my Stock II's to get them where I wanted them. The one thing I do wish is the rear sight arrangement had a little deeper and slightly wider notch to allow in a little more daylight for ease of picking up the sights during the draw and transitions. This is not a deal breaker by any means but just one thing that I feel could be improved. The grip size is a little small (reason I am using the TT1 +3 base pads) as I have medium size hands so I can see this being an issue for someone with large hands. As I am a LH shooter I active the magazine release with my trigger finger. I am still getting used to this but again not a big issue. The mag release button is large and for RH shooters I would think they would find it easy to activate. I feel for the money the Q5 is a great value.

I am only getting 20+1 with the same setup so I'll need to see if the grams follower is binding up where the mag and TTI pad interface. Might need to trim the follower slightly to clear.

Did some load testing today (no chrono) at the range as I have been shooting the 125 gr molys for many years but hoping to work out a load for the 147's with the Q5. 125 gr Leatherhead 4.2gr VVN320 OAL = 1.100 (This load shot like a laser out of my Q5. Is also the load I am using in my Shadow/Stock 3/Stock 2) 147 gr Leatherhead 3.4gr VVN320 OAL = 1.100 (Load is also very accurate but 20 to 30% of the bullets where tumbling out of my Q5. Was testing groups at 15 yds) 147 gr Leatherhead 3.2gr TG OAL =1.110 (Very soft load and also accurate but again having bullet tumbling at around 15 to 20% when group shooting at 15 yds) Was going to increase my TG load up from 3.2gr to 3.4gr to see if the higher velocity solves the tumbling issues with the 147. If it does not then I'll likely abandon the 147gr and stick with the 125 gr for the Q5.
