Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I bet it's differing lock-up caused by anything from a tired or too light recoil spring to the aforementioned difference in brass thickness.
  2. I've had one light strike in about 1200 rounds with the 11.5 spring. I had a "hitch" in the hammer/strut articulation that only required a few taps with a punch to free up.
  3. abyss1232 SP 01 Tactical videos on YouTube are awesome. One cautionary note, the slave pin I ordered from CGW would not pass through the right side of the sear cage or the frame; this prompted a spontaenous sear cage disassembly and my great appreciation of the abyss1232 videos. I've since made several slave pins using nails turned down using a drill motor and belt grinder. Have fun.
  4. One last trick you can try before buying a new frame..... remove the mag release and wrap a mag in 4 layers of painters tape. Heat the grip up evenly with a heat gun or blowdryer and jam the mag in. Let cool for 30 minutes before removing the mag.
  5. The OP is in Germany, any modification to the barrel must be followed by a re-proof at the proofhouse. Only gunsmiths (actual licensed title) and manufacturers may submit guns to the proof house. No gunsmith is likely to submit another's work to the proofhouse. Repairs and modifications can get quite expensive.
  6. I sat down to to do some loading and the phone rang, while on the phone I started weighing bullets (coated cast) to keep from falling asleep I weighed about 100 125gr coated cast 9mm bullets. I set my tolerance at +/- 1.3 grains (1%). I had 5 bullets that were heavier than 126.3gr and 3 more that were heavier than 127.6 (2%). Only one bullet was on the light side of 123.8. I'm curious, is this weight range normal for bulk pistol bullets? Thanks
