  1. Hi All, I need titegroup powder, I shot through all 8lbs I got from grafs last year. I have primers, bullets and cases. 8 lbs would be ideal. All of the main players are out, I am not looking for alternate powder suggestions, all of the other powders are mostly out also. So if you know of some for sale at less than Gun Broker's $80.00 a pound auctions. Willing to pay reasonable price and hazmat shipping if necessary. I am in Columbia MO and I will be shooting the Bianchi Cup so if you are going to the cup I could meet you there. I have 4500 LSWCHP Zero .45 .452 bullets I could trade or cash. 2. I agree that sail boats do use brass and cleaners and operate in an extreme environment. .45 ACP can see pressures of 20,000 psi For a sailboat to see that kind of pressure it would be under 40,000 feet of water. .45 ACP brass is .010" thick - how much can you lose before it fails? Any fittings on the sail boat that thin? I think the paint is likely thicker than that. Ever seen a major ammunition supplier asking for used brass to be returned? Could there be a reason for that? Dezincification can happen with tap water - imagine the effect of stuff with 3 ph, soap, and abrasion. I really thought I should move to wet tumbling to keep dust and lead down but not anymore. Now I think i shouldn't even wash my brass by hand.
  3. I would say no - not if it has had lengthy exposure to limestone / dirt / water. Sucks but on metal .010 thick doesn't take much.
  4. Stop using hot water. Use cold. Everywhere says use cold water. Use cold! If possible use cold distilled. PH is a measure of free ions - temperature does not change PH. Cold acid is a little less active than hot acid - but still acid. Distilled water could be worse than tap, it contains no dissolved minerals and can be more aggressive about striping ions like zinc. More I look into to it - the less I like about wet tumbling.
  5. I added 1tsp of Lemi Shine to 2 gallons of hot tap water. The PH went from 7 to 3. This is about the same as classic coke which will rust iron nails to nothing. I would suggest 1/4 tsp or no lemi shine.
  6. I am not an expert on dezincification. I do some hand washing of .45 Brass. I was pretty liberal with the lemishine and used hot water. I have made "Pink" brass with that method. SInce I am loading target level ammo I have no seen a problem with the cases. But I am concerned that the stress cracking could have been started I was thinking about going to wet tumbling due to high blood lead levels - 27 vs 4.9 normal. I noticed that the pellets LLC offers a zinc tumbling media. Would the presence of Zinc pins rubbing around the cases avoid the loss of zinc from the cartridge alloy to the water? Would this then prevent the stress cracking and allow wet tumbling without damaging the cases?
  7. NRA Action Pistol / Bianchi Cup Production - Ghost Rocket Connector I was rereading the Action pistol production rules. They now state no visable internal or visable external modifications. I think in the past on external mods were prohibited. As I read it, the Ghost Rocket with the trigger control tab is a visable internal modification and prohibited. Any one have an opinion on this? 3.2.1 Production Firearm - The intent of this rule is to encourage the use of production firearms as manufactured and promote NRA Action Pistol Shooting at the “Grass Roots” level. Accordingly, in order to keep this class from becoming an “Equipment Match” , Single Action only pistols are prohibited. A Production Firearm is a semi-automatic handgun or revolver which is or has been a catalog item readily available to the general public equipped with factory notch & post sights. All standard safety features of firearms must operate properly. The firearm shall have no visible internal of external modifications except as follows:
  8. Grafs came through on a back order, so I got an 8lb jug. So no more excuses, load and shoot. Thanks
  9. Hi, thanks for the posts. Sorry didn't think about my location being important. I am in Columbia MO 65201. MidwayUSA, Grafs, and Green Valley Range are all within 30 miles. Alan
  10. Hi All, I need titegroup powder. I am signed up for the Cup and I can't practice. I have primers, bullets and cases. 8 lbs would be ideal, 4 lbs would allow for paractice until the supply catches up. So if you know of some for sale at less than Gun Broker's $80.00 a pound auctions. Willing to pay reasonable price and hazmat shipping if necessary.
