  2. Gaudy and the over done marketing hype. The builds don't seem well thought out either. Reminds me of the show, Pimp My Ride. Throwing a bunch of junk on it and adding a flamboyant paint job. Everyone has their own opinions though.
  3. Minor allows 10rds in magazine. Major only allows 8rds. Shooting 40 allows you to choose major or minor depending on how the match breaks down and if you think the potential time savings are worth the reduced point scoring.
  4. Registration for the match is now open. 2015 IN SS/Prod/Revo Championship -Tim
  5. From their website, If you should want them a little smoother, you can lightly sand them with a 400 grit paper to your liking. G10 dust is bad for you so use a mask. When your done, wipe a little gun oil on them to bring back the color.

I have one installed on a 22/45. Mid summer I started having the shut-off issue but C-More didn't have the circuit board upgrade in yet. I put a cut piece of rubber band under the battery and it ran fine the rest of the year. Getting around to send the sight in now for the upgrade. Does their upgrade not fix the issue? I'm starting to wonder if I should bother sending it in.
  7. Little more weight investigation since I had some time to kill yesterday. Swapping to a GI rod will easily bring the weight down but I'm also considering flat toping or tri toping the slide. Pro Comp 40 Slide & Barrel 20.5oz Frame 20.0oz Trophy Match 45 Slide & Barrel 19.0oz Frame 20.0oz Trojan 45 Slide & Barrel 19.1oz Frame 19.2oz Pro Series 9 Slide & Barrel 20.3oz Frame 18.9oz So it looks like the slide & barrel of the 40 is about 1.5oz heavier than my Trophy Match and Trojan. Looking at it a little further. Pro Comp 40 Barrel 4.3oz Slide (no bushing, or guide rod) 13.7oz Trophy Match Barrel 3.3oz Slide (no bushing, or guide rod) 13.2oz
  8. Mag is a Tripp 10rd 40 mag with polymer baseplate trimmed. It was within 0.1oz of my 45mag, Wilson ETM with Dawson basepad. I'm sure I can shed the weight but just suprised the gun is so heavy.
  9. Picked up a Para Pro Comp 40. It's completely stock, weighed it and it was under the 43oz but not that far under. Ordered an Ice magwell with aluminum mainspring housing. Thought I'd be okay on weight since I went with the aluminum mainspring hsg but I didn't realize the Para came with a polymer hsg so even the aluminum hsg was adding weight. Now the gun sits at 43.2oz and I've got to shed some fat. I guess I didn't expect this since none of my other guns have been anywhere close to the 43oz including my 9. Para Pro Comp 40 = 43.2oz SA Trophy Match 45 = 41.7oz STI Trojan 45 = 40.8oz S&W Pro Series 9 = 42oz Are all the other Pro Comp 40's this heavy? I never saw any concerns on weight in the reviews.
  10. A lot of places carry them. Shooters Connection is a good source. http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Double-Alpha-SINGLE-STACK-Racer-Magazine-Pouch-P2798.aspx
  11. DAA SS pouches, you can run standard or bullets out.
  12. My bench is 42.5" but I don't use a strong mount. So I think that is 36" height equivalent if using a strong mount. Sitting on a stool, it is perfect. Standing, it is comfortable but I wouldn't mind it a inch or two higher. I'm 6'1".
  13. I picked up a railway for 150. Not as cheap as some others were finding but still better than standard pricing. The discounts change quite a bit. When I was purchasing, there were 2 left, after I purchased, there was one left but the price jumped back to 250.
  14. If a CZ feels great in your hands, you probably want a CZ. I'm pretty sure all small and large Tanfo's have similar exterior size. My buddy had a 9mm Stock II. Got an Accushadow as a backup. Ended up selling the Stock II because the CZ was a better fit for him (smaller hands). On the flip side, I don't care for his Accushadow and prefer my Limited & Stock II due to the larger grip.
  15. I'm a SS guy that mostly uses 200gr SWC. I picked up a Elite Limited gun this year to play with. Shooting 200gr RN through the limited gun, it has a softer recoil than my SS. The biggest complaint with the Tanfo is the available aftermarket support. With 1911's you have a crazy amount of choices, with the Elite, it's either stock or one aftermarket choice. And likely what you need won't be in stock and you'll have to wait... That said, it's a really nice gun to shoot and accurate. I liked it enough to up a stock II in 40 as a backup gun and may dabble in production with it.
  16. I had the same issue with the couple Tripp mags I tried. Maybe the spring tension was a little low, not sure. I kept the Wilsons I already had and sold the Tripps. However Wilsons are harder to seat.
  17. Just following up with this. My hammer was dragging on the sear. Backed the over travel off and everything seems to clear now. Still need to shoot it to verify but this was likely the cause.
  18. Ordered one last night. Asked about getting it in black. Henning emailed back this morning said he only had silver but could coat it in black for a small fee. Glad I'm finally getting one for my limited
  19. DAA SS Racer I really like mine. The only thing I would change is to have them mount slightly lower. When you turn them bullet nose out, they sit a little high on the belt.
  20. I printed the yellow grips on a makerbot 2x.
  21. I don't mind the width of the wood grips but I wanted a vz super scoop type mag release channel. I spent a little bit of time and modeled the grip and printed a set. They turned out okay but the back angled edge was a little short so they didn't lock in tight. One of these days I'll fix it and try running a set with ABS plastic. I wish we had VZ grip option for these things...
  22. Not sure, I used a spare iPhone to upload this month.
  23. This weekend was the first time we ran a classifier using multiple strings with practiscore. We did the typical import the stages into EZ win, and then modify the classifier. After importing the scores, I looked at the times and noticed the total time was on the first string and second string was zero. I'm assuming this is okay since the hit factor is correct. Just wanting to confirm this is correct. Search around and did not find a mention of it.
