  1. J Clan. You have'nt done anything wrong. I run the washer on top. No need to have a washer on the bottom. Running only one washer helps keep the ejector wire closer to the tool head. May have to bend the ejector wire to get it closer to the tool head. I'm still working on getting my ejector wire bent properly to eject 5.56 cases. My XL650 did not eject 5.56 cases even before installing the bearing and washer. Pistol cases not a problem with and without the bearing and washer..
  2. I reciently lost a small spring on my XL650. I emailed Dillon with the part number. Explained I lost the spring and asked how I could purchase a new one along with a spare. In a very short period two springs showed up in the mail. Free of charge. Not only was I suprised at the short time frame. They are very busy. I was suprised I was not charged. This is my experiance with Dillon.
  3. This is how I do it with a XL650. Tumble in walnut shell media Lube with Imperial Case Sizing Wax 2 oz. Place a few hundred cases in a tub. Heat up the wax by placing in my pocket for a while. Scoop a bit up with my fingers and spread it between the palms of my hands. Reach in and work the brass between my hands tell all the brass has been lubed. 1st tool head Station 1. full size and decap primer. Station 2. empty Station 3. trim with Dillon rapid trimmer. Die set short of resizing. Station 4. empty. Station 5. Lyman Neck Expander M Die 22 Cal. Tumble in corncob media to remove lube. If needed. Swage on a Dillon super swage 600 with a centering insert from Inline Fabrication. Second tool head Station 1. prime Station 2. powder charge Station 3. Drop bullet with a Mr Bullet feeder Station 4. seat Station 5. taper crimp Shoot. Repeat.
  4. Ok here is my story. Just started loading with a XL650 setup for 5.56/.223. I'm setup to load in two stages. Case prep first. #1 station resize, #3 station trim, #5 station Lyman Neck Expander M Die 22 Cal. I was having problems with the processed cases extracting when finished. I also noticed if I gave the handle a pop at the top of the stroke the cases would extract and fall into the cartridge bin. Didn't seem right but was working. Well tell the ring indexer broke. After a post I was informed the ejector wire needs a little bending to work properly. No problem. Dillon sent replacement parts along with a tool to align the platform. While waiting for the parts I setup to load some .50 Beowulf. Was not going to load much so manual indexing didn't bother me. After recieving replacement parts I was ready to reinstall. Directions called for dropping alignment tool down the powder measure die. So thats what I did before installing the platform. Not good. .50 Beowulf uses a large powder measure die. Tool dropped right through causing the ring indexer to flip off the main shaft and onto the floor. of course the pawl spring was no longer in the ring indexer. Then I cried. Looked for what seemed like a hour but could not find. Have another one on the way from Dillon.
  5. I've been running Dillon's CV-750 Vibratory Case Cleaner for many years. Reciently ordered and started using Dillon's CM-2000 Case/Media Separator. Both work excellent. I'm still kicking myself for not buying the CM-2000 Case/Media Separator sooner. A few turns in each direction and all the media is gone. Inside and out.
  6. Thanks guys. I'll try bending a little now that I have some direction.
  7. Here are a couple of pics. The second one shows the case jamming. Sorry for the poor quality.
  8. http://www.harborfreight.com/60-inch-workbench-93454.html If you have a Harbor Freight store near you check it out. Using the discount coupon thing reduces the cost. Most often by alot. That's what I did.i
  9. Thanks for all the responses. What a great forum. I'll take some pics this evening. Not using a thrush bearing kit but I have one and want to use it. The ejector wire is positioned around the main Allen screw, close to the shell plate. The other end is seated in the small hole but property, I dont know as the machine is new to me. Hopefully a pic will help. Thanks to all of you for the willingness to help.
  10. I purchased a new Dillon XL650 setup for .223. Right out of the box completed rounds are binding on the ejector wire and will not eject. If I give the handle a pop at the top of the stroke it will. But not all the time and does not feel like it's doing the loader any good. The vids I've seen on youtube looks like the ejector wire pushes the round off the plate smoothly. How do I get my machine to do that? Wanted to run it past the forum before contacting Dillon as I know they are very busy.
  11. This is what I'm using. Very happy with it. HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS $159.99
  12. Propane has no order so mercaptans are added. Sole purpose is to oderize the propane as a safety measure. If the oder is not an issue with you and you don't mind squirting a little silicone when refilling propane is very affordable. All I have ever used is propane.
  13. Anyone loading .50 Beowulf with a Dillon XL650 press? If so what combination of caliber change conversion parts are you using?
  14. This is the combo I've been using on a single stage press. Ordered both off of Dillon's Web Site. Dillon Powder Funnel, 500S&W/50AE,oversize - Stock #: 14465 Dillon X-Large Powder Die - Stock #: 21253 For loading on the XL650 i would think you would also need at a min. #A Shellplate - Stock #: 12529 #2 Locator Buttons (3) - Stock #: 14062 #A Station Locator - Stock #: 12339 Also looks like the .500 S&W Case feed stuff may work for feeding cases. Speculation on my part though. Casefeed Adaptor - Stock #: 18494 Magunum Rifle Casefeed Kit - Stock #: 11069
  15. On mine I installed a T19-06 - Tromix Trigger & Disconector, Tromix Reduced Power Recoil Spring, Tromix gas booster bushing, EO Tech 512. Shooting Remington Gun Club Target Loads 2 3/4, 7 1/2oz. Gun likes to run wet. The Tromix trigger made a huge difference and was no problem to install. The factory plastic trigger is junk. Gun cycles and shoots without issue. Very happy with this gun. Won't argue with your wife's assessment but it sure is fun to shoot.
