  1. Don't know much about CZ, never shot one. But, that thing is just........pretty!!
  2. Well crap, that posted before I was finished typing. What I was trying to say was this: Just picked up a 625 JM and I'm looking for load suggestions. I have Clays, HP38, Bullseye on hand and I can get some tight group. Picked up some Berry's 200 and 230 today and would like to also use the Bayou Bullets probably in 230. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  4. Thanks all. I ended up getting it the other day. Cant wait to get out and shoot it. I also picked up some Federal primers today. I think this thing is gonna be blast to shoot!! I see what your saying about the trigger. Its already pulled some skin off and all I've done is dry fire.
  5. Noticed a 625 JM in a gun shop that I frequent when i'm on the road. Really thinking hard on this one. I'm not sure how much competition I would be shooting with this but I still want one. My question is, reliability. What can I do, if anything, that would still allow reliability with various ammo even with some trigger work. I'm not talking about a "competition" trigger but just something to smooth it out and maybe lighten it a little. Excuse the ignorance but i'm completely new to revolvers except for my GP100 that I use a "woods gun".
  6. This is right down the road from my house. My question is this: I have NEVER shot a competition but i'm not new to shooting. I do intend on shooting some events this year but it would be my first. Would the "intermediate" course be better?
  7. Thanks Steve! Now I feel better running these at 2.3 or 2.4 with clays. According to the my manual, the 158LRN start at 2.8 and can go up to 3.1 with clays. This is what I will work up for some loads if I decide to shoot a few competitions this year with the wheel gun. Thanks again!
  8. Well, at 2.4 they are pretty darn accurate. I was just expecting them to be faster. I guess if they are working, accuracy wise, then I should just load them up there. If I was to load the hornady LRN that I have I could expect those to be faster?
  9. Sorry, .38 special. Shooting out of my GP100
  10. I have some 148 grain wad cutters that I loaded up with 2.3 then 2.4 of Clays. Chronoed both today and neither one broke 700 FPS. The book I have lists 2.5 as the "never exceed" load for clays with 147 grain wad cutters. 2.4 just looks like such a small amount and its not even breaking 700 FPS. Am I doing something wrong here? What will happen if I crimp them more? For the record, i'm new to reloading if you haven't figured that out.
  11. Wish I could try 231, don't have any. Gonna work up a load with Clays and see how that goes.
  12. I think they call these the "type II". They have a "button nose" with a crimp groove right under it.
  13. Picked up some Lee Alox today during some down time on a trip to North Dakota. Will be verifying the diameter, thanks for the heads up!!
  14. I have a friend at work that gave me 3 bags (about 25 lbs each) of lead wadcutter bullets. I want to load these up for my GP100 but i've NEVER loaded hard cast wadcutters. The only lead i've loaded so far has been Hornady 158 gr. LRN. I can figure out the load with the books I have but my question is about "lube". The hornady bullets came "pre-lubed" and these are just lead. Do I need to lube them with something and if so, what?
  15. Thank you all for the input. Looks like I will stick to WST for 9mm for now (until I can maybe find some Solo1K) and save the Clays for my .38 special loads that I shoot out of the GP100.
  16. Makes sense. Is this something that is inherent to all powders? I can save the clays for .38 reloads out of the GP100 and use WST for my 9. Probably just buy something like solo1000
  17. Thats the plan. I have 2lbs of Clays so I want to use it up. I know it's not very well liked but its what I have. Is there something I need to watch out for with Clays? Like I said, I know its not well liked but is it "more dangerous" in some way?
  18. Just picked up a ProChrono so that's the plan next weekend.
  19. And I've still got all my fingers!! Everything went according to plan, except that everything was a little weak. A few fail to feeds, slide not locking back on last round, things like that. Now I just need to work up. Using Bayou Bullets 124 and 147 with Clays and WST out of a stock Glock 34. Suggestions welcome!!!
  20. Thanks! Thats kinda what I figured but wanted to make sure and get input from experienced reloaders.
  21. I'm new to reloading and I just received my samples of 124 and 147 Bayou Bullets. Powder wise I have Clays, WTT and Bullseye. My question is, when looking for load data through the books I have what bullet do I use? Do I go with the "lead" data even if these are coated? Excuse the ignorance but I would prefer to look foolish for asking a question than showing up later with pics of a blown up gun.
  22. What about the breach face issues i've been reading about? I would use this in a G34 with Bayou Bullets 125gr. and either clays or bullseye
  23. Just introducing myself. From the Lafayette area and getting ready for my first USPSA event. Learning a bunch here already.
