Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Don't know much about CZ, never shot one. But, that thing is just........pretty!!
  2. Well crap, that posted before I was finished typing. What I was trying to say was this: Just picked up a 625 JM and I'm looking for load suggestions. I have Clays, HP38, Bullseye on hand and I can get some tight group. Picked up some Berry's 200 and 230 today and would like to also use the Bayou Bullets probably in 230. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  4. Thanks all. I ended up getting it the other day. Cant wait to get out and shoot it. I also picked up some Federal primers today. I think this thing is gonna be blast to shoot!! I see what your saying about the trigger. Its already pulled some skin off and all I've done is dry fire.
  5. Noticed a 625 JM in a gun shop that I frequent when i'm on the road. Really thinking hard on this one. I'm not sure how much competition I would be shooting with this but I still want one. My question is, reliability. What can I do, if anything, that would still allow reliability with various ammo even with some trigger work. I'm not talking about a "competition" trigger but just something to smooth it out and maybe lighten it a little. Excuse the ignorance but i'm completely new to revolvers except for my GP100 that I use a "woods gun".
  6. This is right down the road from my house. My question is this: I have NEVER shot a competition but i'm not new to shooting. I do intend on shooting some events this year but it would be my first. Would the "intermediate" course be better?
  7. Thanks Steve! Now I feel better running these at 2.3 or 2.4 with clays. According to the my manual, the 158LRN start at 2.8 and can go up to 3.1 with clays. This is what I will work up for some loads if I decide to shoot a few competitions this year with the wheel gun. Thanks again!
  8. Well, at 2.4 they are pretty darn accurate. I was just expecting them to be faster. I guess if they are working, accuracy wise, then I should just load them up there. If I was to load the hornady LRN that I have I could expect those to be faster?
  9. Sorry, .38 special. Shooting out of my GP100
  10. I have some 148 grain wad cutters that I loaded up with 2.3 then 2.4 of Clays. Chronoed both today and neither one broke 700 FPS. The book I have lists 2.5 as the "never exceed" load for clays with 147 grain wad cutters. 2.4 just looks like such a small amount and its not even breaking 700 FPS. Am I doing something wrong here? What will happen if I crimp them more? For the record, i'm new to reloading if you haven't figured that out.
  11. Wish I could try 231, don't have any. Gonna work up a load with Clays and see how that goes.
  12. I think they call these the "type II". They have a "button nose" with a crimp groove right under it.
  13. Picked up some Lee Alox today during some down time on a trip to North Dakota. Will be verifying the diameter, thanks for the heads up!!
